My friend won't stop talking to me about the yaoi devil from a game he likes with little to no explanation as to who it's actually supposed to be. I don't think he even likes the character.

What are your thoughts on the story of uni2? Specifically about whether you think it was well-written and a good sequel to uni1

It's. A lot. And at the same time, not enough. Details under the cut.

It really feels like the game was either rushed or had corners cut in terms of story content, considering how much less of it we have. No Chronicle Mode at launch is one thing, but even the arcade modes have less content within them and even less dialogue that's actually interesting. I think the writing for characters like Phonon and especially Nanase got more "normal" in comparison to their previous arcade modes which is at least something I appreciate. Thank you French Bread, I guess. But in return, Erika and Vatista got the short end of the stick. We can never have it all...

Hyde's metric ton of death foreshadowing seems to have went down the garbage bin which makes me personally really sad, but if it means it'll be featured in a future story mode, I'd rather it not be wasted on the lackluster arcade mode of this game.

But is UNI2 a good sequel to the original? I wouldn't say so. Barely any questions from beforehand were answered and more were raised, ones we'll likely never get an answer to if arcade mode is all we got. I don't blame French Bread for focusing on the gameplay aspect since that's what drew most players in to begin with, but it really does hurt as a lore fan.
