It’s said absently as Vio’s fingers carry the needle through, quick short motions to close the wound. He should fix Green’s arm too, while he’s at it.

Green stares blankly down at the floor, and then brings his arm up. The sign for not is simple enough.

Forget.

Vio freezes as Green signs. He’s communicating. The first sign could have been a mistake, but signing forget is deliberate.

Vio tightens that stitch a bit too tight in surprise, but quickly moves to finish up the job as Green finishes his statement and then goes dead still again.

Vio clenches his fist rather abruptly.

“They would never come back. But, they say, if you turned back just in time, Just before you reached the place, you came back with tales of horrendous things. Beasts of their kind, twisted past the limits. Any trace of the peoples they were modeled after? Gone. Long gone. They were a crazed tribe, who ate the softer, land dwelling shadow beings.”

Vio lets out a tiny breath, expression twitching. Something about this story.. It made him remember something. Flashes of teeth.
