(but also, this is a bad rep for sharks and might possibly be a myth. i heard sharks don’t like how humans taste. but don’t trust me. i don’t have sources.)
Yesterday I bought an HB pencil and a sketch pad. This is my first drawing in 4 or 5 years, I think.
It took me almost an hour to get this done and it’s not even finished yet. In the first few attempts I completely forgot my style and was trying to achieve a more realistic look before I realized, hey, that’s never been the way I draw anyway so why am I forcing it?
Sometime ago, a friend (let’s call him Melinda) shared how her other friend (let’s call him Eugene) just blurted, out of the blue while they were in the middle of watching a gig, “I don’t want to do music anymore.” Eugene is a musician, has a band, and makes a living out of music (well sort of).
I gasped, but I also said, “that’s why I never wanted to work in music. I imagine I’d grow to resent it.”
I’m sure that’s not true for a lot of other people out there. It is true for me though.
“But, Stacey, how do you know this when you’ve never actually tried it?”
Well, I know it because I really liked programming, I work as a programmer now, and here we are.
:) <- dying inside but gotta keep it together.
I still like programming. I’m just not sure I still want to be a professional programmer anymore. But please, do not NOT hire me because I said this. I still gotta pay the bills.
Cue: dancing quarter life crisis! “Wassap, guys!?!”
Scientists discovered that sheep are able to recognize human faces. They identified pictures of Emma Watson, Barak Obama, Jake Gyllenhaal and more with surprisingly high accuracy.

The countless billions of dollars poured into the War on Drugs has resulted in mass incarceration, corruption, political destabilization, violence, the rise of drug cartels, and systemic human rights abuses around the world. The one thing the War on Drugs hasn’t done is stopped people from using drugs. The animated video series, Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell, explains why the problems associated with drug use are caused by the war against them.
There are those hearts, reader, that never mend again once they are broken. Or if they do mend, they heal themselves in a crooked and lopsided way, as if sewn together by a careless craftsman.

Earlier at the clinic, the lady beside me looked on as the nurse failed, extravagantly and continuously, to extract my blood for an exam.
After I've thoroughly exhausted the poor nurse, the lady asked me if it was painful.
I answered, "I already got used to it. It's difficult to extract my blood," implying that, yes, having your veins abused with multiple stabs of a huge-looking needle does hurt.
To ease her pain, I could've added, "I have really tiny veins. Don't worry, what you just saw won't happen to you."
Then again, I already reached my cap for number of words said to a stranger.
...
I just watched her pale in utter horror.
