the website itself has ended up becoming a bit of a project

we’ve created pages for each character with descriptions and pictures

hopefully it’s a bit of a guide into our universe

we’ve also collected qr codes for each of the pages that we’re hoping to display for the characters during the exhibition

we’re not sure quite where yet

I’m overall really really happy with our website!!!

the way their voices are edited  makes me think that we need to try out playing with voices and speech

it just hit me that all of our characters are silent

they just never talk

sound happens around them but they never make it

it would be interesting to start to give them voices

what do they sound like??

in some ways we had speech and dialogue in ‘dicpics 2′ but that wasn’t connected to any character

To be honest this is one of my favs

It’s so simple yet so effective

It was created in the studio as a very in-the-moment thing

We both just said let’s sit here for a full minute and not talk to each other

I think the original intention was for us to edit voices and conversations over the video to make it seem as though we were talking to one another

We were planning to use a robotic google translate voice

But in the end, we were so happy with how this as it is we decided not to edit in any dialogue

LOVE her work

reminiscent of ours on the similarly low quality

most of the video artists we’ve been looking at use a very polished artificial aesthetic that reminds you of advertising

like is low quality and nostalgic like us

i feel like the sauage is too small

we need a bigger sausage next time to balance out the onion but the creepy walk is to die for

this is how we came up with the idea that mrs mills sells herself in the asda toilets at night for pocket change

Checking out how our work looks projected up onto a wall

we’re wondering if we should have anything projected in the exhibition

or would a tv screen be better??

the video version is merely a documentation

PowerPoint is its true form

However, it crashes almost every time we run through the slideshow

so for the sake of convenience, it is uploaded online as an mp4

BUT let it be noted that we purposely haven’t changed it so that it doesn’t crash because we like it there

we felt like it was a part of the art that it wouldn’t run properly and make funny noises every time

It’s like the computer wanted to contribute too

wanted to join in

and I say: let it!

I like the idea that penny crovetn has no real name

It’s slightly different everytime we say it

Gradually her name will shift into becoming just noises howled into the wind

Sexy Mrs Mills

This piece was a breakthrough for us as it was the first time we used a mixture of Photoshop, PowerPoint and OBS to make a video

It’s as if we’re trying to find the most convoluted to edit our pieces

But somehow that’s a part of it

It works

It just feels right to be using old software not meant for editing videos to make them
