“really?  you  really  didn't  need  any  help?”  gohan  echoes  in  surprise,  a  little  taken  aback  by  how  nonchalant  the  other  boy  was  acting  [  …  ]  but  it  was  fitting  for  his  dad.  still,  he  didn't  realize  how  similar  they  were.  except,  gohan  was  never  this  calm  when  he  had  to  live  out  on  his  own  in  the  woods  for  several  months,  he  would've  taken  going  back  home  to  the  nice,  air  conditioned  home  of  his  mom  and  had  proper  cooked  meals  any  day.  “that's  pretty  cool.  you're  really  brave,  goku.”  the  compliment  falls  easily  from  his  lips.  “do  your  friends  come  to  visit  you  at  least?  it's  gotta  be  pretty  lonely  out  here  with  no  one  else  around.”

He remembered how she yelled at him for calling her multiple times when she was on a date with Yamcha. "If I get really bored, I like to travel to a bunch of places on the nimbus cloud."

“hey  i  said  quit  it!”  angry  swipes  are  given  once  again  to  the  other  boy,  with  goten  growing  fed  up  &  bouncing  away  at  a  rather  high  height,  floating  in  the  air  while  he  furiously  waves  his  limbs.  “i'm  just  me!  i'm  no  weird  ghost  or  monster  or  anything  …  i'm  goten!  son  go-ten!”  he  enunciates  his  name  in  an  exaggerated  manner,  huffing  while  his  tail  twitches  wildly  behind  him.  “you  know  ⸺  maybe  you're  the  secret  weirdo  here!  did  you  think  about  that?”

"Go..ten?" Not only did he resemble him, but his name was also similar to his. None of this was helping him dissuade his opinion that this person was an imposter of some sort. Didn't help that he was hovering in the air, which was something that the young saiyan couldn't do.

       Her  brow  flattened.   ❝   Seriously?   ❞   She  was  starting  to  think--  …  No,  she  was  pretty  confident  this  kid's  ‘  master  ’  and  ‘  grandpa  ’  could  use  some  serious  parenting  classes.  Wasn't  there,  like,  a  thing  about  making  sure  young  kids  were  supervised?  Not  letting  them  wander  off  too  far  on  their  own,  especially  into  a  forest? 

       Features  laxing  some  then,  she  added,   ❝   Well,  I  guess  if  that's  the  case,  ya  mind  if  I  stick  around  a  bit?   ❞   After  all,  she  couldn't  just  leave  him  here  in  good  conscience.

"Stick around?" While he didn't know why she would want to be around him, it didn't bother him either. Plus, it was a chance for him to know more about her. "Sure. I don't mind."
