it endears me greatly that the ffxiv community will see a glitch in the code or a bad model in the game and make it a community event and inside meme and make fanart of it like

bring back hard mode (HM) dungeons

hot take?? but hard mode dungeons are amazing and I hate that they stopped making them because they

allow the devs to get more use out of old game assets

allow for fun new views of familiar environments (nighttime vs daytime, lush & pristine vs immense disrepair, normal fucked up vs supremely fucked up, and so on)

provide opportunity for microcosmic/hyperlocal non-MSQ storytelling (that people will still actually be motivated to do because of the dungeon requirement!)

provide opportunity for PROGRESSION of perhaps "forgotten" story beats

offer more options for gear progression and glamour

free us from the 50/50 chance expert roulette hellscape

help endgame not feel so completely stuck in the current zone or lore environment (feeling that right now in 7.3 especially)

I could go on and on here.... and it's not like I love every single HM (there are several I can't stand, actually) but I am so glad they exist, and I think they should revisit the concept. thanks for coming to my mog talk.

I put this in the comments to help people out but I'm gonna reblog with an expanded and organized version. You can report this, actually! It's tedious, but if you're fueled by spite like I am - it does help! - Go to your "System" menu - Select "Support Desk" at the top of the list - Click the "Contact Us" tab - Click the "Report Harassment" button

Fill out the form following their instructions. The form is too small to list all of the names so list one and following that put "and (number) more" - A GM will likely contact you for the full list, so make one in a notepad and save it. I made the list as I blacklisted them, to ensure I had the name and world correct. (See blocking info below) MOST IMPORTANTLY - Under the "Details of the Violation" you're going to put "Interfering with other player's gameplay by using duplicate characters to make a location lag." This is the TOS violation. This is the thing Squenix actually cares about. Because multiple characters standing around isn't inherently a problem, but doing it so much that it starts making the game lag or the frame rate dip means that it's interfering with paying customer's gameplay. That's a "big no-no"

If a GM contacts you, go to Limsa and suggest that the GM come to you so they can see what you see. It'll take them a moment and they will not visibly "appear" but they will come find you and look around the area themselves.

DO NOT ENGAGE THE OTHER PLAYER IN ANY WAY! Starting an altercation won't solve anything and it could get you face-to-face with a GM in a bad way. Lastly, if you want to "Thanos Snap" each and every one of those characters: - Click on the character - Type "/blacklist add <t>" (without quotes) into chat - Confirm
