Apparent U.S. airstrike levels Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan

U.S. officials are investigating whether an American aircraft opened fire on a Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan. Aerial strikes destroyed the facility on Saturday, killing at least nine staff members and seven patients, according to CNN. Thirty-seven others were injured, many seriously. MSF is reporting a higher death count of 12 staffers. Three of the confirmed dead are children. MSF president is calling the incident a “a grave violation of International Humanitarian Law.”

Malala Yousafzai is the girl who was shot by the Taliban because she stood up for education.  She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 and became the youngest person to ever win this prize.
