Where was he…? What was he…? Who was he…? How did he get here…? Why was he alone…?
Landing on his two paws, the line if code stumbled. The moving clouds made him feel dizzy, yet he held his ground. He looked at his hands, then at his unclothed body. He jumped back and shook at his own shadow. Rays? He stared as vague memories of unknown knowledge popped in his head. Was he… a sun?
Holding his chest, the sun walked in what felt like circles. Was this place neverending? It was so empty he felt like he was suffocating. Why was he here? Who put him here? Fear, pain… Pulling on his rays as everything got too much. Where did he learn this?
The little code cried out in a blind panic. Something was wrong. Could anyone hear him? Running around like a chicken without its head. Falling onto the clouds, the sun curled up and cried. So much emotion, so confused… A distant voice called.
Video…? Was that his name…? The voice got louder. It scared him. Video yelped as another figure walked into view. Another person? Was he no longer alone? The inner mechanism of his voice box burned in its newfound use. "Who," The little one coughed, "Who are you?" The sun couldn't help but rub his throat in discomfort, focusing on the person in front of him.
Before him stood a taller model full of blue and purple hues. They didn't have rays like him, but instead a nightcap, a lab coat, and a large collar around their neck. A face full of scars and glowing red eyes… This person was terrifying and he had the urge to run. Finally they spoke, a bitter tone that made the bot shiver. "I am Radio Blue, but you will refer to me as Radio. It is good to see you, Video Red. Welcome to the Mindscape."
"Okay! Radio! Um… The… Mindscape?" Video questioned, tilting his head. These terms felt confusing. It hurt his head.
"Correct. Usually it takes the form of one's mental space. As you can see the head we're in is more of an airhead." Radio explained, rolling his eyes as he looked around. "Maybe you can fill this space for yourself."
"That sounds fun! But… what if I get bored?" A new word! A new feeling? What was 'bored'? Video was growing curious.
"Then you can touch this cube right here," Radio walked behind the small sun. "It will let you… interact, with the people and surroundings around you in the real world."
Video grew more curious, a mechanical purr escaping him. "The real world?! Oooo!! I wanna go, I wanna go!"
"Patience!" Radio shouted, making the smaller one widen his eyes. That was loud. Loud? Loud! "You mustn't give yourself away too quickly. It will ruin… plans. Now. I have to leave, so make yourself comfortable. I will speak with you again later." And with that, the moon left.
Video sat down, pondering. The blue one seemed mean… but that doesn't mean he can tell him what to do! …Right? What if he got loud again? It hurt his ears. He was curious, so maybe a small peek wouldn't hurt… He walked over to the cube, and placed his hand.
What greeted him was the bright lights and colors of a daycare. "WOOOOAH!! This place is AMAZING!!" Video looked all around. He should his head at the sound of jingling bells. "What's that sound? What's this place? What's- Uh oh." Video looked at the tall rayed figure walking towards him. They were shades of dark reds and golds. Panicking, he managed to retreat on his own.
Who was that?! They were tall and scary. If only he could've explored… Hmm… He thought back to what Radio told him."Make this place my own huh…?," Video picked up a tuft of cloud and shaped it into a baloon dog. "I guess I'll start there."
