An idea of what the final layout will look like.

I finished the last of the wings yesterday so today was removing the stabilizer, fray checking, and then weeding all of the beading pieces that are done.

Next step is going to be getting these sewn/embroidered on to the dress and then we'll see where we go from there.

I'm so excited!

Back to working on the beading for Vex's wedding dress after ignoring it for months ^^;

Started the night with only the pearls done and 3 Christmas rom coms later, progress! Going to need probably about 5 more, as these beading pieces take about 11 hours each to complete. And since I don't think I've posted any of this project here yet, I'll put a few more wips below.

The front pieces:

And a test shot of when we pinned 3 of the finished pieces to the dress itself

Very messy because a lot of the excess silk chiffon will be removed once the pieces are actually stitched to the dress.

But, I swear, this project will be finished in 2023. And the Percy to go with it.

Nearly there.

One more night of work and this piece will be done.

The only downside to doing these over an extended period is that I'm always convinced the newest one looks soooo much better than all the others. Of course, they are probably getting better, as I get more practiced with this method with each one I do. I'm just trying not to hate the first pieces because the later ones are better.

Jester Lavorre - Critical Role

So it's been a pretty long time since I've posted any new content to this blog. I sort of gave up on Tumblr for a while, so this is an attempt at being back, at least casually for the time being.

I'm still very much in Crit Role hell (it's fine, I love it here) and back in January I braved the cold with my photographer and very good friend Ever Dreams Creative (you can find her work on Insta, Twitter, and Facebook under this name) we shot some photos of my Jester costume! They all came out so lovely and soft. Something about Jester's color palette just plays wonderfully with snow. And honestly, the results made braving the cold totally worth it.

So I roped some friends (because you should always get friends involved) into competing in the Nebraskon Masquerade for the first time and in our very first prepared skit as well. I can happily say we won Best Skit for our Demon's Waltz featuring Orthax, Dr. Anna Ripley, and Percival de Rolo. Big big thanks to my friends for being wildly helpful at keeping me on track and helping me tame my crazy big ideas and to all the amazing Critters who showed up to support us. You all helped make this Nebraskon one of the best yet.

I have designed and begun work on my take on Critical Role's Dr. Anna Ripley. With any luck she will be making her premier alongside my Percy at Nebraskon in a little over a week.

I am both excited for and dreading that coat design.

I know I've been pretty silent around here lately but it's time for an update.

I've been pretty busy continuing work on all my Critical Role costumes but I took a break from that to make my Halloween costume. Myself and a group of friends will be heading to Disney soon for Halloween and we'll be doing a villains group for the Halloween Party. I'll been doing Mother Gothel from Tangled.

Overall, the build took 3 days and about 60 dollars.
