anyways happy sunday, areum is a size queen. :)
areum wasn’t always prim &. proper. as a young fox, she was quite the menace to the surrounding villages around her, earning the nickname of ‘ THE DEMON FOX ‘ very early on into becoming a gumiho. she was the fox who would rummage through the graveyards in search of their fresh bodies, the one who would raid various chicken coops in the night, terrorize the villagers in their sleep so she may feast on fresh liver &. hearts. this was all she knew; behaving akin to a wild animal, because that's exactly what she was; beast of burden lurking in the shadows until the little lambs came along for their slaughter. it was survival for her, in fact the animal nature in her head never figured that she was doing wrong, not when all of this was pure instinct to do. as time goes on she learns to live amongst humanity, melding perfect into their little society to better blend in &. prey ‘pon the very things that have kept her afloat for so, so long.

𝑺𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻. small towns. big cities. six thirty curfews. lights that take the place of stars. blanket nests. light through blinds as a wake up call. found family. finding a single star in the middle of the city. window shopping. watching something terrible & enjoying it. growing numb to the sigh of injustice. wilted flowers. faded caricatures. bright, bold colours.
𝑯𝑬𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑵𝑮. crickets & lightning bugs. car engines & ac units. a phone call to mom or dad. laughing with friends. jokes that are so bad you have to laugh. the clicking of computer keys. noise cancelling headphones. the sound of silence. muffled music from another room. drumming fingertips on a table. clicking of pens. listening to a clock and swearing the ticks get slower. ringing in the ears. the voice of someone you love. pitch shifted songs.
𝑻𝑶𝑼𝑪𝑯. being held close during a long night. fleeting reassurances. holding hands when you’re scared. brushing fingers through strands of hair. freshly dried clothes. bruises on your knuckles. silk & satin. your favourite pet’s fur or feathers. wringing your hands anxiously. snuggles. comforters in the dead of winter. nails against skin. cold metal. leather in summer.
𝑻𝑨𝑺𝑻𝑬. coffee in the morning. tea in the evening. bubblegum that lost its flavour. alcohol burning the back of your throat. homemade cooking, no matter what’s made. blood in your mouth. stale air. menthol. fresh vegetables. the first meal you cook by yourself that tastes good. foreign sweets. fast food. bittersweet. sour. spicy. sweet. bitter. too much salt on fries.
𝑺𝑴𝑬𝑳𝑳. morning glories & honeysuckles. freshly cut grass. hot chocolate in the middle of winter. nail polish. acetone. hospital rooms. smoke. hairspray. your favourite shampoo or conditioner. the scent of home. perfume. cologne. something burning. wet dogs. copper. metal. unemptied ash trays. something familiar yet different.

My other final! This one was for a bestiary that everyone had to pick an animal, real or mythical, for. I chose to do a kumiho because that’s one of my favorite animal-based/shapeshifting creatures.

ok …. but a dragon shifter oc that works in underground fighting rings. i am thinking like a whore.
surprise becomes crystalline ‘pon girlish expressionism, further emphasized by the way her eyes widen &. brows quirk, as if the gumiho was genuinely doubting the question descending unto audits. not interested in regaining some elegant &. proud composure, she unconsciously allows emotions to be conveyed onto visage instead taking a step forth towards the foolish ( perhaps brave ? ) man who dared to reveal her nature. since he was aware of what she was as of now, wouldn’t it be in his best interest to avoid her completely ? surely he knows of the myth, the tales, the stories of which depict her kind as blood - thirsty animal - like things preying on the sweet livers of man - kind, no ? a simper then, unfurling of nine chiffon tails that sway ‘round her person. “ i assume that you must’ve not met my kind before, so let me ask you something . . . ” another step forth, a flashing of the sharpened fangs within maw. “ do i do justice to the myth, or have i simply disappointed you ? ”
