[Linux How-to] Upgrading to bigger drive

It's time to retire my old 1TB SATA SSD ... got myself a 2TB m.2 NVME drive. Upgrading is easy. - Get Gparted, put it on a USB, CD, DVD, make sure it's bootable. - Assume old SSD is /dev/sda1 - Assume new NVME is /dev/nvme0n1 1. In Gparted, all you need to do is make sure to go to /dev/sda1 and select each partition you want to "clone". Press CTRL-C (copy) 2. Go to destination drive, /dev/nvme0n1, and paste (CTR-V) 3. Repeat until you've copied whatever you need over. 4. If you want to, you can "Grow" any partition you wish to the size you want to fill up the new drive. 5. Hit APPLY. 6. Go drink a cup of coffee, watch a movie, and wait for Gparted to complete. 7. (Safety check) - look at the UEFI partition (FAT16/FAT32) and make sure the partition flags for BOOT and ESP are ticked. 8. Remove all old drives and reboot. Done!

Had to leave Vivaldi

For about 8 or 9 months I've been using Vivaldi. I thought it was pretty decent, at first. However as I used it, more and more "irritable" things start to show up. Biggest show-stopper of all is that the cloudflare turnstile captchas started to loop - you know, those "Verifying if you are a human" stuff. Every other chromium browser worked, except Vivaldi. Even firefox worked. Then I started noticing other minor stuff like BTTV/FFZ sometimes not working on Twitch. Ah well, guess I'm using Brave now.

Moving to Linux #2 - "I'm a Gamer!"

Yeah you did your research, you're eyeing a gaming-centric distro to move to (Nobara, CachyOS, Bazzite etc). My advice? Don't. Go back to my previous post - pick one of the 3 "newbie friendly" ones.

Why? Cuz no matter how savvy you are, no matter how much you know about hardware and how to tweak them - all that knowledge is based in WINDOWS (which you're trying to get away from). On Linux, you're NEW. You need to learn how to walk before you fly. Yes, games work just fine in non-gaming distros. Just like games work fine in non-gaming Windows. The only difference you can see is probably 5 to 15 fps. Nothing stopping you from jumping into the deep end with gaming distros though, but you're bound to run into something that doesn't "work quite right" and you'd be frustrated cuz the way to fix it in Windows does not apply in Linux, and suddenly you're faced with the command prompt ("Terminal" in Linux) typing in arcane commands.

Moving to Linux

My personal recommendation for a "typical user" trying to escape Microslop and Windows, and moving to Linux - use Linux Mint. Close 2nd - Tuxedo OS . Looks closer to Windows 10 "out of the box" than Mint. Mint looks more like Windows 7. 3rd - Zorin OS is more geared towards people coming from Macs, but works well enough for Windows refugees too. So far, these three have been the only distros that "everything works" just like Windows. So if you just want things to work and don't want to mess with command prompt, use one of these.

Reboot the phone (optional, but recommended)

Scroll down to Networking – Bluetooth AVRCP Version.

Set it to AVRCP 1.5
