This handsome boy is 4 weeks old. He eats A LOT and is sleeping 2.5-3 hours during the night. He's starting to giggle and coo and he's such a joy to be around. James is too small for the baby bouncer my sister bought for him and I'm trying to get him to sleep through the night by leaving him in the living room with the TV noise and light during the day. I remembered that in Sweden, they give new moms a box of stuff for new infants, with the intent of the box being used as a bed. I don't have a box, but I do have a basket. Today, James is officially one week old. He's starting to open his eyes more and he eats a lot. He sleeps through noises (praise the Lord) and he is a wiggle worm. Kiaya has been so sweet and gentle with him and gives him little kisses when he cries. Saw the doctor today for the final countdown. This was the ultra-sound picture they gave us and I laughed and told Dallan that this was definitely his kid. Dallan does this all the time! Hand to the head and the look of disbelief. And the ultra-sound tech said that James has Dallan's nose. Kiaya and I moved to the couches and every time I get up to lay down and get some sleep, she looks at me with her puppy dog eyes and then snuggles closer to me when I sit back down. I love these moments when my dog just wants to snuggle and have some attention. We don't deserve dogs.
