I feel like I only go on Tumblr every time a Whitepine episode comes out lol, anyways:
THIS EPISODE WAS SO COOL AS ALWAYS. Still a bit calm, some wholesome Ivory/Pyro scenes (I love them omg) and CLOWN???? Idk just him throwing the sword he almost hurted his friend with was SO POWERFUL of a moment. And this CLIFFHANGER OMG I'm gonna crash out, this series is so good I love it, I'm so hyped for the 10th episode. Also the Reddoons and Vi scene was so strange??? I am really intrigued but I guess we'll see.
That was my rant, it's over now, see y'all in two months when a new episode is out.
Clownpierce centric, though I plan on doing deep rambles on every character in Whitepine.
Ivory is always staring at the attic door many times throughout the episodes leads me to believe that she knows something is in there, a feeling maybe.
Now the door being open and Clownpierce having a deep down feeling that someone's in there, even hearing noises and taking a sword to attack whatever there is.
"Maybe a rat?"
No. He knows that thing is not a rat.
Perhaps you can blame the veteran PTSD making him paranoid, but I think somehow he can tell the difference.
But let's say for arguments sake that it was a rat. Metaphorical or not.
He immediately gets a weapon. And I don't think this just has to do with him being a veteran. He wanted to protect everyone by getting rid of whoever hurt one of his coworkers, friends even.
And him being pissed about the police not doing anything.
Thinking about how while he was with Ivory in town, probably trying to figure out how to word things better for this new employee who clearly needs a little more help than others, the detective then snuck over to the house to warn everyone about the "dangerous new girl" and to stay away from her.
And I'm definitely sure he's absolutely livid about Ivory being attacked by the detective.
Do you think he knows about the detective following Ivory around the house? Harassing her? Harassing everyone else? Including the Hemlockes?
He strongly believes that everyone in the household is innocent, even shutting Ivory up when she brings up the theory.
He's strict, firm, and direct.
At first I thought he was just being this way because he's been working for the Hemlockes for years, knows how they are and is basically the head butler, but the recent episode led me to believe he's just worried for everyone in the household. Servant or heir.
Though, I do wonder about his views on Zombie Hemlocke.
Does he hold any hidden resentment? Considering his views on the working class and how he runs things?
Looking back I guess we can see why he didn't want Ivory playing the piano, might've belonged to Ms Hemlocke. If he's worked there for so long, maybe they had some sort of friendship?
Also, him at Mysty's murder. He immediately gets up after the second scream, running faster than anyone else and pushing everyone away from her body, telling them not to touch her.
Might just be an evidence thing, but I'm sure a War Veteran knows how to respect one's corpse.
(This ramble is a bit messy my apolocheez. Also I mention Zombie a lot, but I swear it's relevant to Vi's character.)
I've been trying to keep tabs on every character, and here's what I've gathered from Vi.
Vi seems to be the youngest of the Hemlockes, and even if he wasn't, he's treated as such. His father, Zombie Hemlocke, based on Muu's episode 1 line
"Is dad gonna eat with us today?"
Isn't around much. But when he is, he's around too much. Treating Vi like a child, not allowing him to go into town on his own, yet not assigning any servants to him.
Apparently, Vi seems to scare them off with his behavior (Might be his chaotic nature.) Which led to him feeling the need to blackmail Ivory into taking him into town.
Ivory instead made going on this trip on her own terms. She was also interested in Vi's little experiment, joining in watching the pipe bomb go off on the shed. The two are also planning on going to a car exhibit.
Back to Zombie Hemlocke for a moment. Now, I don't know how old any of the Hemlockes are, but I'm pretty sure Vi is an adult.
Everyone else except Zombie treats him like an adult, at least to my knowledge.
He's being told "don't forget your toothbrush" as if he's five. And Zombie's chilling "You're my kid." I genuinely flinched. If nothing solidified my hate for him before that definitely did.
That's not to say Vi isn't childish, though he does what others tell children is rude. He certainly has to be chided for it, but maybe lack of a mature figure is the reason for it. Ms Hemlocke isn't in the picture, dead or alive, no servants to listen to him, his dad's an asshole.
I'm curious on how Vi feels on mysty's death. So far, I haven't seen any signs of grief from him. He hasn't commented on anything about it. In the shot of mysty's death, we can see him there. I think I even hear him crying for a moment, though it's hard to hear with all the mixed cries and even puking from everyone.
I feel like we've had a good amount of information on him yet still not enough? This isn't criticism, though I do want more about him, but doesn't anyone want to dig deeper on every character?
(unfortunately I lost a huge portion from a weird glitch, bear with me.)
There's a small portion of me that wonders if maybe this is more than just a "youngest child" thing. Maybe Zombie is overprotective due to an accident. Vi created that pipe bomb, it's a dangerous thing to do, maybe something went wrong last time he experimented and now everyone is afraid to be his servant and Zombie is himself because of it.
But then I thought of Ms Hemlocke. I'm sure everyone thinks she's dead, and I also believe that, but for now I've been saying she's out of the picture, unavailable, etc. Maybe due to her not being around, Zombie has become more controlling of everyone. He wants Izzy to be a "proper lady," he's belittling Vi, he's weird about Pyro and who he hangs around with, also his whole company deal.
Side note. I honestly resonate with Vi a little. The way he hates being treated like a child, yet acts a little childish and playful at times, the mild "odd one out" feeling.
How are these episodes getting better and better????? The Clown and Ash scene was so precious like wow, the Bit scene was also so cool, we luv our NBs. And MAN, just the blinking eyes and the hug were so GOOD, it really added something to the series. I like it.
The ambiance for this episode was also really weird. After what happened in Whitepine 7, I was so sure there would be more of the detective stuff, some action, some reveals. But that's not how Whitepine works and honestly, that's for the better. They just all took a nice vacation and nothing happened, even though we could think it would go wrong somehow (Kantje disappearing, Clown's moment and this freaking shed).
I just love Whitepine. I really do. It's so good and I can't wait for the next episode. Ivory's one of my favourite artist and my favourite MCYT for sure.
Ivorycello/Whitepine fanartists appreciation post.
I don't have any words to describe how talented this community is. Genuinely I can spend hours watching fanarts of Whitepine, and there is so many!! I know how hard and cruel being a small artist can be so I really want to express my appreciation for ALL of these artists. You're so talented, and for those who are trying to live of their art, I wish you the best of luck for that 🫶
Season 5 of the life series/traffic smp is coming today.
I'm so fucking excited, since last season I watched a lot of stuff from a lot of the participants and I love them all, like wow they're cool.
It's gonna be the first season where I'll watch basically 4-5 POVs each week lmao I want to see people in this series it's so cool.
I'm obviously hopping GeminySlay wins because she's super cool and badass and cool and cool and it's her first season (also she got the advantage that Scott Martyn and Joel have which is actually know about PvP) but honnestly I think whoever wins, it's fine for me. I also think maybe it's time Jimmy dies second to last or wins maybe idk he cool. I really hope there will be unlikely alliances like in Double Life that's always so cool (but it there is a soup group alliance, yknow I'm good with it). Also Mumbo and Lizzie maybe? Please? And Oli? Maybe?
Anyways, have a great time watching this life series everyone, I sure will.
Hey, I will try to plan my streams more as they are kinda messy. But I will maybe still do some surprise streams sometimes. For this week, I only plan one stream, Thursday at 5PM (French time so 4PM BST), where I will play Ori and the will of wisps. I hope to see you there!
