Went digging around my old files and did a redraw of one of my dragon designs from years ago. There's some stuff I still like about it, but I'll probably revamp this sooner or later. u_u

Haha I can't believe what got me dragged back into FR was festival snakes. Gosh I haven't seriously looked forward to them in quite a while.

Anyways, been revisiting some old FR characters. This is Pi. He's a skeevy old scientist who is definitely up to something but pay him no mind, he's just a frail old man. What are you going to do? Beat up the elderly?

gosh hi! hello, for anyone who may still be around. i don’t have as much time to draw as i used to before, and petsites in general are a much more casual interest now, but i’ve been feeling nostalgic and i’ve been wanting to revisit my old fr dragon designs. might even retool some of them to be more in line with my current tastes haha. anyways, i may or may not breeze back in here or there. o/

recently came to the realization that, while i like the concept of anthropomorphic animals, i could never really click with most of the designs i saw. turns out, i just like them more on the realistic side haha (it was the strong cartoony influences that i wasn't clicking with)

smth smth fantasy world, they're basically worms that live in lava and eat rocks, some of them turn into human-shape to buy fancy rocks to eat, but they're terrible at the whole shape-shifting thing (probably cause they don't have eyes LMAO, what's a frame of reference?) somewhere along the way they figured out how to slap some makeup on their empty face so that it's a lil less unnerving to others

What have I been doing recently? Still busy with work. But my brain suddenly decided, what if I made a BL parody manhwa? :’D

Summary: Recent college graduate, Jae-eun, is having a night out celebrating his deliverance from academia when--as these things go--gets into a traffic accident and is whisked into another reality. Except, this isn't any fantasy world of your isekai dreams... Instead Jae-eun is stuck as the unwilling brain passenger of the main character of a terrible highschool BL drama he recently read. Somehow Jae-eun has to figure out how to get out of his predicament, while dodging romantic flags and plot points left and right--love triangles and predictable tropes included. 

Featuring: Park Jae-eun: Trope-savvy enigma Kim Yu-jin: Shounen protag w/ serious idol worship Oh Byung-ho: Rich asshole (also the childhood friend with an unrequited love, serious 2nd lead syndrome) Ki Min-jae: School golden child, everyone’s sunbae (and aforementioned idol)

oops i’ve been neglecting this blog,, gosh i’ve just been eyeballs deep in work so uh,, ^^;;;;;

art dump of stuff i’ve done in the past few weeks. gosh how time flies.

top two are comms for a friend. i’m considering opening up colored bust comms in that style in the future (but that’ll have to wait til life’s less hectic *wheeze*)

rest are random character concept doodles including: (1) harlequin/jester faun who is, contextually, part of a traveling theater troupe of demi-humans, an actress who plays exclusively male roles (typically the trickster-hero), part of a duo with her centaur brother (who plays female roles). ((raging lesbian and an incorrigible flirt off the stage asldjkf;))

my contribution to a modern au that went out of hand (joking with a friend about her fantasy world and how ‘‘‘terrible’‘‘ it would be if someone did a coffeeshop au of it,, and of course that means I must take it to it’s most logical extreme et voilà, now there’s a whole small town au) and my two duders get to be a part of the tattoo shop au trope LMAO

lastly, character dev doodles on one of my old OCs and i’m happy to say i’ve finally crystallized their vibe into ‘catboy who looks like one of those elegant/fancy show cat breeds, but in reality is a garbage cat.’ “bitch you thought i was elegant but jokes on you, i will raid your trashcan for all your leftover chimken”

Not FR related, but drew of thing of one of my newer OCs (if you call almost a year old “new” lmao).

His name is Ho-jun and he’s a tiger druid. There’s some contextual oddities because he’s technically a closed species from my friend’s universe, but to summarize his shtick: Ho-jun is a repressed workaholic due to some deep-seated trauma from literally being left at the altar by his ex-fiance for a better business arrangement.

Tbf, this is in a society where marriage is purely business, no romance or relations allowed, but this is still a dick move. Poor Ho-jun’s self-esteem never fully recovered and now he drowns himself in work, repressed in an already repressive society. Poor guy’s gonna crack one day. u_u

Yeha picked up a new dragon for an OC expy (shhh i still need to pick up a Vipera for him)

His real name is Bastien Ardley, but everyone just calls him Bastard. Or Dr. Bastard. (tbh i don’t think anyone knows his actual name, his moniker is truly pervasive)

He is a sadistic cleric with necromantic leanings who is really good at his job but lacks morals or empathy. YOU WILL SURVIVE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT AND YOU WILL NOT GET REST UNTIL THE OBJECTIVE IS COMPLETE

((further backstory: he was more of a traditional healer in the beginning, but too many toxic and dumb as shit party members caused him to snap. now he is what if the healer got to go apeshit 100% of the time. living the fucking dream man.))

Chosang and Gashi are so funny because Chosang’s whole shtick is he’s the physical manifestation of a tombstone who is infinitely kind and empathetic towards others because his entire existence is created from the culmination of grief and mourning and remembering/honoring the dearly departed.

Gashi, on the other hand, is the reincarnation of a rose of an ornamental rosebush from the same cemetery as Chosang. What do plants understand of human morality? Gashi certainly doesn’t. All they care about is Chosang so let’s just outsource their moral compass lmao.

And this is great and all because Chosang and Gashi truly cherish and love each other but oh ho, what’s this? The newly appointed Demiurge from the neighboring dimension is doing some literal worldbuilding and is looking to fill the roles of the Spirits of Winter and Spring? Haha this rock and flower are so interesting! Yoink!

So now looks like Chosang and Gashi are stuck in a long distance relationship for as long as they’re stuck with this new job. :(

Chosang melting away just as Gashi hits the scene, while Gashi eternally runs after Chosang, but has to get through the obstacles that are Summer and Fall. Hoo boy. Makes a spirit wanna go apeshit, doesn’t it?

Some more original lore stuff!

These guys are my equivalent of deepsea water dragons. Left was the initial pass, and I finally got the general specs figured out/tightened up on the right.

I pulled from a couple inspo sources, but they’re mainly manta/lobster with a dash of eel. More info under readmore

they're all born with a 'pearl' that's embedded in the middle of their forehead that looks like a third eye. their longevity is in their pearl so as long as it remains intact in their body, they're functionally immortal. it's not fatal to remove, but doing so makes them mortal/killable. it is however, a social obligation for most people to have the pearl removed surgically upon birth. only nobility/royalty are allowed to keep their pearls, partially a status symbol, but also,, there's like big consequences to keeping the pearl in (you just keep growing/don't stop growing and slowly become feral,, like dementia but with extreme consequences. only the nobility know the secret to not become like this).
