Was an Reddit(I know worst place to be) to get some other people’s opinions on Sam and the thunderbolts post credit scene. And I’m seeing people are like Sam is an asshole. And was one to Bucky in TFAWS! LIKE HUH!! Have people opened their eyes and watched the show?! Bucky was the asshole! Sure Sam could have been rude in some parts but placing the full blame on Sam is crazy! People are also saying he was the one being rude and an asshole to Walker when that was mostly and entirely Bucky. Like I’m so confused! And I definitely know the reason. It’s most likely because he’s a black man and they infantilize the white man, Bucky.

And to preface this I don’t hate Bucky. Im just pissed because people apparently don’t have eyes or brains anymore. (second rant of the day 👌🏾)

It’s great that Sam Wilson is finally getting more content now that he’s Captain America, but it’s frustrating how so much of it is centered in angst—pain, struggle, and constant emotional labor. And worse, the fandom often glosses over his insecurities and the weight of his arc, acting like his journey to becoming Cap was just a box checked instead of a deep, meaningful transformation. Instead of exploring his growth, people keep shifting the focus to Bucky, treating Sam like a supporting character in his own story. And on top of all that, there are still people criticizing him simply because he’s not the white, blonde captain america they wanted—as if his skin color somehow makes him unworthy of the shield. It’s racist, it’s loud, and it’s honestly heartbreaking, because Sam earned that title, and he’s doing more than enough to carry it with pride.

I could honestly rant forever about how justified Sam’s anger is at the end of Thunderbolts. Like—how is it that a bunch of former enemies of the state get chosen to be Avengers faster than he was accepted as Captain America? Sam had to fight so hard just to prove himself, and it was all because he wasn’t the white, blonde poster boy they wanted. And yeah, I get that it was Valentina pulling the strings, but that doesn’t erase the fact that Sam still has every right to be mad.
