Rivals To Lovers with Karma Akabane
It would start off as some petty rivalry.
He was rebellious, and you weren't.
You were a good student, and he wasn't.
Your personalities often clash, which has led to a lot of arguments.
"Y'know it's against school regulation to not wear the uniform properly."
"And you know what? I don't give a shit."
Talking to him was frustrating.
Now, the solution was quite simple.
But it was hard when he was in the same class as you, had the same group of friends and on top of all that, he sat next to you.
As good as of a teacher as Koro-sensei was, you were hoping he would be a little more strict with him.
Because you don't think there is a word in the dictionary to describe the annoyance you feel at having a student like him have the same grades as you.
One question wrong and he won't shut up about it.
When he was wrong on a question, you made sure to repay him in kind.
It wasn't until finals came that you started getting closer to him.
Karma didn't do well on his finals.
By no means did he fail, but for someone with his intelligence, he didn't do good.
Of course, your first thought was to brag to him, but seeing how quiet and how much he was sulking, you decided not to.
Instead, you approached him maturely and tried to have a talk with him.
It didn't start out well.
It was the default thing to banter and make some snarky comments to each other.
However, when his usual level of sarcasm wasn't the same as normal, you decided to stop.
You were surprised his sulking bothered you so much.
So, after the trip to Okinawa, you made either a stupid or a noble decision by offering Karma to study together.
He was against it, because of course he was.
But it seemed as though his humbling experience made him accept the offer.
And that's when the friendship began.
Working together with someone so close to someone who well knowledged in school work helped you appreciate his intelligence a bit more.
When school started again, the two of you had matured a bit.
There were still banters between the two of you here and there, but it wasn't handled as childishly as before.
Then, before you both knew it, feelings were developing.
Of course, since it took a while for you both to even get along, you could only imagine how long it took just to accept these feelings.
Everyone in class thought the same thing.
It's obvious you both want it.
But neither of you budges.
No matter how many times the students and Koro-sensei intervene, you and Karma refuse to say or do anything.
That was until much later in the school year.
Winter vacation, to be exact.
After everything that happened with Kayano and Koro-sensei's past, everyone needed their own time to think.
You spent a lot of time walking around the neighborhood.
It was pure coincidence that you ran into Karma.
Maybe because you were both going through the same thing, or maybe you both felt lonely, you both refused to leave each other's side.
In the cold winter afternoon, you both found comfort in each other's warmth.
Karma knew this was a lot for you to handle. For anyone.
Still, he hated seeing you like this.
The fiery girl he first met didn't exist at the moment.
So, he did something to bring it back.
He shoved a chunk of snow down your back.
The energy you both had whenever it came to the two of you was back.
You threw a snowball at him.
He would throw a snowball at you.
It would end with the two of you laughing on the snowy ground.
But when the laughter died down, you realized he was on top of you.
Karma expected you to get mad or punch him, and you expected him to shove snow on your face.
But none of that happened.
Instead, you both leaned in to finally kiss each other.
