Having fun with this one, making it seem as though my work is hung in a gallery like this! But as far as method goes, I’m interested in the effect of having my scans printed large scale with one image woven through 2 separate frames... This is something that it would be possible to experiment with in ‘real life,’ but on a smaller scale.

Pursuing artistic practice with limited resources

One of the things that I’m finding most difficult while pursuing my practice is the lack of space available to me. Living in one of the most expensive cities in the world (London) means that for most having a studio space to work in is the height of luxury! I’m actually lucky in that I can even take this time between jobs to do my work as I know a lot of people in full-time work that would love to be doing the same, but quite simply can’t find the time to do so. Having a family that supported me financially before I moved to London (no rent, bills or food to pay) has meant that I was able to make some savings for these lean times and therefore give me the headspace and time to create new work.

Ideally, the way that I’d like to expand this project and push it to it’s limits would be to experiment with the pieces that I have made and the visual material that I have collected, in situ. As this is not possible right now, I was looking up images of spaces (galleries, archways, empty rooms) on the free stock image site Pexels where I was able to download some imagery that might help me to see how my work could be juxtaposed in a 3D space, albeit on a 2D surface! This is what it means to be resourceful! I’ll upload the outcome over the next few days.
