Being 24 years old and only starting College now was pretty pathetic as it went but Mateo’s parents were never rich and truthfully the only reason he was here in college now was because of his friend the one that encouraged him to send in one of his architecture projects for a chance to win a scholarship at this particular place. So that’s what he did Mateo sent in his project and he was lucky enough to be one of the chosen ones. Mateo arrived at the campus at least a couple of days before the lessons would even begin. He wanted to use the time to socialise and at least try to make some friends so he won’t spend the next couple of years here like a complete loser. Of course, last night at one of the frat parties he met a girl that managed to get him to slip out of the party pretty quickly. Mateo was drunk but he wasn’t drunk enough to not know where he was going so when the girl opened the door that was right opposite the dorm he was staying at he felt rather relieved that he won’t have to walk far to get back to his own bed once he decides to ditch. It was pretty early in the morning when the male pulled back on his clothes and pulled the grey hoodie with the college’s name displayed on it over his head. He quietly managed to slip on his shoes and sneak towards the door before opening it quietly and stepping outside. Closing the door shut he turned around and bumped into someone. Looking down at the brunette he looked back over at his dorms door and then it hit him. Also he remembered his roommate hanging around her earlier on at the party. For a moment Mateo bit down onto his bottom lip to try and prevent himself from laughing at the rather awkward situation but eventually he couldn’t help it and a soft laugh formed at the back of his throat. “Oh hello there, enjoyed my room huh?” Arching his eyebrow slightly a playful grin was now displayed on his face. “so since we’re both on the walk of shame, we might as well grab coffee. You down?”
Elsa had a love hate relationship with college. She loved it because she was away from her controlling manipulative mother. On the other hand, she hated it because the girl had no motivation or drive. When asked why she wanted to go to college the girl simply replied that it was what her family did. The Grimaldi’s were alumni to the prestigious university. So, it was only natural that their children attended the university, seeing as how they were very generous donors. Elsa’s parents were both incredibly successful lawyers. Her brother’s all graduated from law school and now naturally, Elsa was at the university for the same thing. However, the only skill she had that pertained to her degree was her ability to argue and lie.
Other than that, Elsa had no desire to be here and that reflected in her grades and demeanor. She played up her shallow rich brat act and didn’t care to let anyone see past that. The twenty year old did what she usually did on Friday nights. She got dressed in the tightest dress she could find and went out with her sorority. Elsa could care less about the replaceable dumb fraternity men she used. There was never another human being she connected with. Sure, she was popular and well liked. But, the fuel never felt an indescribable bond, she felt like everyone could be replaced. Carefully, the girl snuck out of the room of her latest hook up. It was early in the morning, around 8 am or so. She was hoping to slip out undetected. Much to her dismay she almost collided right into another male. She didn’t recognize him but it was apparent that this was in fact his room. “Oh, yeah. Your roommate is a very entertaining guy.” She mused, lips curving into a small smirk as she cocked her head to the side in slight amusement. Coffee, that’s interesting. “Alright, why not.” She simply concluded, figuring that she had nothing to gain or lose. “Walk of shame, hmm?” She questioned with a small laugh.
Mateo didn’t really know a lot about his roommate apart from the fact that Mateo has only started and the guy tried to convince him to join the fraternity that he was a part of, A part of Mateo wanted to do it but then another part of him thought that maybe he was now a bit past the fraternity age bracket however it still made him curious what it would be like to experience it so last night at the party before Mateo headed off with one of the girls he told the guy that he will happily join. Call it the alcohol speaking but in that moment he was all in. Mateo chuckled lightly as he heard her words. Nodding his head in agreement. “Oh yeah very entertaining, when I first arrived he showed me a magic card trick very fun.” He grinned a little, despite the fact that Mateo’s roommate was a frat boy he had his own lil quirks that Mateo managed to learn about that actually kind of surprised him, like the fact that he was into ‘magic.’ The boy brushed his fingers through his dark brown hair as he walked side by side with the newly met brunette. “Oh yeah, definitely. That girl from that dorm crazy actually insane. At one point i thought she was gonna kidnap me and shove me into her closet to keep me with her forever.” He grinned softly, due to the early hours of the day and the previous night of partying the campus was pretty much empty, everyone still being probably sound asleep. As he contiued to walk he slipped his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, the cold morning breeze brushing gently over his face and neck. “Oh shit where are my manners, I’m Mateo by the way and I’m guessing you are my roommates new magic assistant huh?” He teased the female a little whilst a playful smile was evident on his face.
Elsa tried to recall if she knew the male beside her. The fraternity was one her and her friends occupied quite often. They were actual the top fraternity on campus, one her father was a part of. This guy had a different allure about him. She could tell, this wasn’t necessarily his scene. Maybe that’s what intrigued her to grab a cup of coffee. Usually, she would have rolled her eyes and continued on her with day. But, it was Saturday and she figured why not. “Serena? That’s the girl you fucked last night, right?” Elsa murmured matter of factly, a sharp brow arched as she offered the male a grin. “She’s quite fun at parties. She has this one party trick where she shows everyone how she can literally swallow a whole cigarette. It’s fascinating.” The girl stated with amusement.
“Magic?” Elsa asked, her brows furrowing as she grimaced. “Oh, that’s so hot…” she murmured, biting back a string of giggles. Quite honestly, she couldn’t even recall his name. She preferred to keep it that way though, it was easier. She held stilettos in one hand and he purse in the other. Elsa stiffened at the change in temperature as they stepped outside the cold chill of the early morning air hit the girl rather quickly. The male’s tone catching her attention as she turned her head slightly to glance at him. “Elsa—“ she stated a bit hestantly, offering a small smirk as she rolled her eyes at his statement. “Yeah no, your roommate isn’t very good at magic. I think that was my first and last time assisting.” She mused, walking by the male’s side as her big brown orbs glanced over the campus. “What’s your party trick? Or magic trick…” she trailed off, bottom lip caught in between her teeth as she pried just a bit at the mysterious man by her side. “I know you’re not part of Kappa Delta. I’ve never seen you around..”
One of the main reasons why Mateo decided to come to this university was because he wanted to get away from home. Sure he loved his mother a lot but his relationship with his father has always been a little bit on the rocks. When he heard her words he widened his eyes and gasped a little. “Oh no do you kiss your mother with that dirty mouth?” He placed his hand over his heart to act as if he was quite shocked by the girls language. “You know, I did think I could taste tobacco in her mouth last night. Now I know why that was.” He grinned a little clearly amused with the new discovery that he managed to learn about his one night stand. “Oh yeah magic, card tricks , making coins appear in your ear the full package. Honestly you’re truly missing out and I’m surprised you decided to sneak out and leave the poor guy behind so early - only to go for coffee with his obviously more attractive roommate.” He teased a little as he grazed his tongue over his lower lip to keep it damp, trying to keep his expression as serious as possible but of course caving in the very next moment and allowing a smile to make it’s way to his face. When she asked him about his party trick Mateo pressed his lips together for a brief moment as he had to think about it. “i’m quite good with my tongue, and before your mouth travels somewhere else I mean that I know how to tie a knot with a cherry stem in my mouth.” He pushed open the door of the cafe and allowed her to walk in first. “what about you angel face, whats your party trick?” He spoke as his gaze travelled through all the different types of coffees that were displayed upon the board. “Firstly I’m new, secondly - I got invited to join the Kappa Delta last night when I was drunk by my wonderful roommate because apparently he is the one that hires people into it and because I was drunk I said yes and now I feel like I can’t back out, so might as well go in and take over right?” He looked over in her direction and winked playfully at the brunette beside him. “So what coffee do you want, oh and do you want breakfast with it?”
It was ridiculously early on campus. Which meant, most people were fast asleep. Saturday meant nothing got done, it was the day people went to football games and slept all day. Elsa however usually couldn’t do that. She was a morning person and for some reason found herself up at insane hours. “Bold of you to assume I kiss my mother.” The girl chided, a small smirk laced on her plump pink lips as she raised a brow at the boy. The coffee shop wasn’t too far on campus. It was by one of the biggest facilities, the business school. So, it wouldn’t take long for them to get there.
“Yeah his little magic act was over quite quickly.” The brown eyed girl mused playfully, her expression relaxed as she walked by his side. Elsa wouldn’t say this, because she barley even knew the guy. But, something about Mateo put her at ease. Here she was, getting coffee with a complete stranger. Yet she felt calm and comfortable. As if she knew him for years and they were old friends or something. “Good looking? mmm..” she asked, nodding once before playfully nudging the boy. “I think you’re getting ahead of yourself. I mean your roommate was the total package. He did magic, like you can’t top that even if you tried.” The girl stressed, her tone playful and dramatic. As the male began to speak about his party trick Elsa couldn’t help but to wonder what else she didn’t know about him. He was intriguing, to say the least. “I suppose we’ll have to test out your little party trick.” The girl bantered back, offering him a little devilish grin before glancing away. “Angel face? Don’t call me that.” Elsa scoffed as she looked the boy up and down and then walked into the cafe. “I don’t have a party trick. I’m quite boring at parties..” she deadpanned, raising a brow at the boy before turning back to face the front. The line wasn’t too long, so it would be their turn soon. “Well, I suppose we’ll see each other quite often then. I’m in a Kappa Alpha Theta.” Elsa stated, not quite proud of the fact for whatever reason. It was the sorority her mother belonged to. So naturally, she followed in her footsteps. “Um, I’ll take a caramel macchiato with almond milk.” The girl murmured with a small nod, hoping he wouldn’t press on further and ask about food.
Strangely in Elsa’s presence Mateo felt like he belonged here, he enjoyed the petite girls company and maybe it was because she intrigued him or the fact that there was something slightly different about her. “You see here I am talking about Magic cards and what not and of course, you and your dirty mind have to take it to the sexual things. Jeez girls really do only think about one thing huh?” He teased her a little. Elsa was proabably the first person that he met and instantly clicked on with. When she spoke he spread his arms a little as if to say ‘come on look at me ‘ followed by a soft chuckle at the continuation of her words. “Oh yes of course, big old pete how could I forget. I guess it’s a good thing then that on top of my good looks I also have a charming personality and a dashing smile.” He flashed her one of his signature smiles and then shifted his gaze back to the board with all the coffee names listed upon it. “Does that mean you wanna test out what I can do with my tongue, cause I mean I’m down all you gotta do is ask.” He winked at her in a rather playful manner. Truthfully Mateo wasn’t a huge coffee drinker but it was somehow the only thing that actually helped his hangover. “Ooh someone is a little fiesty huh?” He nudged her playfully and then looked over in her directions shaking his head in disagreemt. “You see now that’s obviously a lie.” He spoke lightly turning his attention back to the front he nodded his head once. “Oh no how unfortunate for me that is then also random but do you see me in a football outfit, I’m thinking of trying out for the team but I obviously don’t doubt my skill however I don’t know if i’ll like the outfit.” He spoke lightly and soon enough when they reached the till he ordered her drink for her and ordered himself a cup of plain black coffee and ordered the little muffins they had with the cherry on top, reaching into the pocket of his jeans he pulled dug around until he found his card, gently tapping it on the little scanner he grabbed the two cups and handed one to Elsa then he reached for the muffin. Before heading for one of the empty tables. “Are you sure you don’t want anything to eat not even a toast?” He questioned lightly taking a sip of his coffee and frowning as the disgusting taste of pure black coffee went down his throat. “ So Imma show you my party trick. Taking the cherry off the muffin he placed it in between his teeth and pulled if off the stem. Quickly eating the cherry he brushed his tongue over his lower lip and placed the cherry stem into his mouth. After a few seconds he pulled it out and there it was in a perfect little knot. “Did I win your heart now?”
The girl felt at ease in this moment, her mind wasn’t preoccupied with constant thought like it usually was. Something about him almost soothed her, it was odd. Elsa didn’t question it though, maybe it was the fact that he was buying her coffee and nothing else. She knew not to get ahead of herself and have expectations for people. “Oh yes—“ the brunette began, lips curving into a cheeky dimpled smile. “—We only ever have sex on the mind, you’ve cracked the girl code.” Being able to banter and play around with someone who has more than two brain cells was refreshing. Elsa felt alone on this campus, despite but surrounded by people at almost all times of the day. She was very much part of the in crowd however, there was just some little part in her that stopped Elsa from truly feeling like she belonged. The young girl would never admit it but, she felt like an outsider. “Pete..” the girl nodded once, the male’s name actually coming back to her. Somehow it had gotten lost in between vodka shots and beer pong. The smell of coffee beans instantly perked the brown eyed girl up. Swiftly, she pulled her long brown waves into a pony tail and slipped her feet into the rather uncomfortable shoes she wore the previous night. “Football? I mean I could possibly see you in red and white.” She teased, cocking her head to the side as she pretended to picture him in the outfit. “I’m on the dance team. So, it’s my job to cheer for those meatheads. I guess that means I would see you now and then.” She murmured with a small smirk. Carefully, she took the hot drink and held it to her lips, pausing before she took a small sip. “Nope, I’m fine.” She brushed off his question rather quickly, glancing away from his face momentarily. Soon, the male caught her attention and Elsa found her eyes rather fixated on his lips. The way he skillfully knotted the stem had in a bit of a daze. After he pulled it out the girl cleared her throat, big brown orbs flickering back up to his eyes. “Well go ahead, my heart is yours for the taking.” As they left the shop the girl had a sudden idea. “What are your plans for the rest of the day?”
“ I knew it, all you girls think about is sex not like us boys. We actually get emotional here and think about feelings.” He placed his hand over his heart as he shook his head in fake disappointment. At first when Mateo bumped into Elsa he imagined her to be extremely stuck up however here he was now actually enjoying his time with her and he liked being in her company. Mateo knew that somehow he didn’t really belong in this prestige university, his family never had money and none of his parents have had any education further than high school so the fact that he was here was pretty bizzare however he was quite good at acting like this was his place, like he belonged. “I can’t believe you forgot the greatest magician’s in the world’s name!” He shook his head once again making a light tutting sound with his lips as he pretended once again to be disappointed. “Red and white huh, sounds like actually quite a decent combination. Yeah i would definitely pull it off.” He spoke pretty confidently having so much faith in himself. Ever since Mateo was a kid he was the type to have confidence bloom within him, not because he thought he was god’s gift but because he always did everything he could to pretend that he was good enough for certain crowds. “Now look at that, you would see me at the frat house and even at games. Honestly how much luckier could you get?” He arched his eyebrow in a playful manner and as he was tying the little cherry stem into a knot in his mouth he caught the female’s gaze upon his lips which he couldn’t help but feel some sort of satisfaction from. When he pulled it out he placed it upon a piece of tissue and then bit into the muffin. “The coffee in this place is quite good but the bakery, big no.” He pouted as he was clearly disappointed with the muffin in his hand. Mateo took his cup with him as they left the cafe and thought for a second about her question. “At 4pm, I have the tryouts and then at like 8/9pm that stupid frat house is doing a party and they wanna introduce the new members. Lovely.” He rolled his eyes at the idea of the boys from the fraternity introducing him as one of them. “Why what lovely idea did you have in mind angel face?”
“Oh yes, so lucky to see your lovely face, I’ll be looking forward to letting you brighten my dark days on campus.” The girl teased, glancing up at mateo as she playfully winked. “I wouldn’t exactly consider anything on this campus to be edible.” The petite girl murmured with a semi disgusted look on her face. “You would think 50,000 a semester would get us better food. Nope, not at all.” Sure, the wealthy girl had high expectations. However, she was right about that. A lot of the features of their university were overrated. The tuition wasn’t reasonable at all. But, then again she didn’t quite care. After all, it wasn’t her money. The chilly winter air hit them rather briskly. It wasn’t quite freezing out, yet it wasn’t warm either. The weather on campus was usually dreary and cold so, the students tended to stay inside on days like this. Sunlight was the only condusive weather for day drinking. “I wanna take you to this secret little spot I have on campus..” she began, pausing to sip the sugary caffeinated drink in her hand then continuing on. “.. but if you tell anyone about this spot I swear to god I’ll find a way to make you disappear and I promise it’ll look like an accident.” She threatened, arched brows and wide orbs as she made eye contact with the male. “And about that party, I think my sorority is going. I have to warn you though, they’re gonna make you so pretty wild stuff to prove that your committed.” It was a normal thing fraternities and sororities did, they hazed new pledges to make them prove their loyalty. “I’m out of there if I see you naked or something.” She teased, glancing around to scope out who was around as they walked back in between some buildings and to a more secluded part of campus. “This is the greenhouse, it’s locked during the day but—“ she paused, pulling out a pin from her hair and messing with the big silver padlock before successfully disabiling it. “—security isn’t very tight.” The greenhouse was fairly abandoned. The campus didn’t pay much attention to it after having a bigger one built closer to the main campus. This one was overgrown and hidden, that’s what the girl liked about it.
“Exactly, don’t worry I’ll shoot some scores for you.” He grinned a little, Mateo enjoyed the playfulness of the atmosphere it was definitely something completely different than what he was usually used to. Mateo nodded his head in agreement. When he heard the price of how much the semester in this place costed his breath almost got caught in his throat but he managed to brush it off. “Yeah exactly, I had better food at home. My mum loves to cook like it’s one of her favourite things and as much as i like to annoy her about her cooking skills I have to admit it she is quite something.” Mateo was an only child and even though he had a bad relationship with his father him and his mother were super close when Mateo was a kid she was his biggest rolemodel and to this day he still sees her as one of the strongest people he knows. When she mentioned the special spot he glanced over at her and arched his eyebrow listening to her talk more. When she mentioned the accident he couldn’t help but laugh a little. “Aight got it, Can’t bring any hook ups to your secret spot its understandable.” He walked by the girls side following her lead to her secret spot as he listened about the party and the new tasks that his fratertnity ‘brothers’ would most likely make him do. “Fun times, Can’t wait.” Sarcasm laces around his words as he rolled his eyes at the whole idea. Mateo wasn’t sure why he agreed, maybe it was to belong to, to simply be a part of something. “Oh please, the day you see me naked will be the happiest day in your life.” As they walked past all the different buildings Mateo finally spotted a what seemed like a slight abandoned greenhouse. He then watched the girl as she picked the lock and it reminded him of when he was in high school and he would pick classroom door locks to go and make out with one of the girls he managed to get that day. “Oh maybe you’re not so angelic after all huh?” He teased a little, when the door opened he stepped inside the greenhouse, looking around it he found it rather calming. Taking in a deep breath he could smell the nature around him. “This is , wow.” The male spoke as he walked further in taking it all in. “I don’t know what I expected when you mentioned the secret place but it wasn’t this.”
“I think seeing you naked would be a tragic day for me.” The bruneyye shot back, shaking her head as she offered the male a little crooked smirk. Usually, she preferred to be on her own. She loved attention, it was practically part of the girl’s DNA. However, she could only take so much. Elsa could only deal with so much energy before she felt drained and had the need to retreat. This wasn’t one of those times though, at this moment she felt fine. If anything, she was kinda craving human contact. A conversation with someone who actually had brain cells was surprisingly hard to come by on an Ivy League college campus. Mateo was somewhat different, or maybe he wasn’t and Elsa was just imagining things. She wanted to believe he was different though, so she would continue believing the first option. “Oh this little trick?” She questioned with a devilish grin, tucking the pin back into her chocolate locks “My father kept his liquor cabinet locked like a psychopath.” The greenhouse smelled like damp soil, it was oddly comforting to the girl. It reminded her of the garden her family had back home. Not that her mother had even the slightest green thumb. “What? Does my manicure not give off the impression that I spend time outside?” The young girl disappeared for a second and then reappeared with a large grey sweater and a small box. “I hope you’re not a snitch—“ she murmured, slipping on the oversized university sweater before she began rummaging around in the box. Elsa soon pulled out a small plastic baggie of weed and a carton of rolling papers.
“Oh yeah totally psychotic, but hey at least him keeping the liquor cabinet locked taught you a little trick or two and you said you don’t have any. Someone is quite clearly a little liar.” He laughed softly, sitting himself down upon the small bench that could just about fit two people on it as he glanced over at her hands the moment she mentioned her manicure. “Oh yes of course, the nude colours clearly symbolise nature how could I be so stupid.” He teased a little and then suddenly watched her dissappear. Resting his elbows upon his lap he leaned himself forward a little to try and see if he could catch a glimpse of the girl. When she returned with the box he arched his eyebrow slightly as he watched her take out the sweater and then the plastic baggie with weed in it. A soft chuckle formed at the back of his throat as he reached over for the baggie examining it. “No don’t worry I’m not, I hope you didn’t pay a lot for this cause this seems like one of the weaker types to be fair.’ He spoke lightly. Weed was probably one of the most basic drugs, the drug that was legal in Amsterdam after all, it was the first drug Mateo tried at the mere age of fifteen when he found his father with it one day and his father was more than willing to let the boy try it then of course, it only escalated he went from that to powders and pills one stronger than the other. When Mateo nearly overdosed at the age of twenty one not long after losing majority of his weight due to the drug abuse he promised his mother that he would never do it again, sure he had to attend rehab and there might have been situations where every now and then he wanted to use it to feel a little something but he promised her and even before he left for this university his mother made him repeat that oath. “ Another one of my party tricks. I can roll one with one hand.” He spoke lightly as he started to do it, rolling the joint up with one hand whilst the other stayed on the box to keep it steady. When he finished he handed it over to her. “i unfortunately can’t take it though, I’m like seven months sober. It’s stupid but it’s something I promised my mother since you see I nearly overdosed at the age of 21 - which yeah was like almost 4 years ago and still i’m only 7 months sober doesn’t make sense huh.” He laughed softly at the thought of it. Did Mateo miss the whole party stuff the drugs etc, most certainly but he made a promise.
“You’re right, I guess I do have a few hidden tricks here and there.” The girl hummed in amusement, little dimples indenting into her tanned cheeks as she flashed him a smirk. “Paid a lot? How much is a lot? I think this was $35 for a gram… which now that I speak out loud that sounds kind of ridiculous.” As Elsa plopped herself down next to Mateo, she couldn’t help but to listen intently to the words that escaped his lips. It was almost like he spoke about this topic absentmindedly— like he wasn’t in his brain and his mouth was moving on autopilot. Clearly, it was a sore subject for the male. Elsa could tell that much, just from listening to him talk and observing his body language. It made the girl wonder what other secrets he had. Truly, she knew nothing about the male. So was it really a secret, or were they just strangers? That was a thought to make a stop in her tracks for a moment. He was a complete stranger and here she was, just hanging out with him. Once he handed her back the joint and finished talking Elsa paused briefly. She then bit down on her bottom lip and sheepishly lit the joint. “Well, way to make me feel like some demon trying to corrupt you.” She murmured lowly, raising a brow at the boy before taking a slow hit. “Now how do you plan on being sober on a college campus?” The twenty year old asked curiously, her head resting against the glass plane of a wall and her bit brown orbs trailing up and focusing on the ceiling. “By the way, if anyone asks we never hung out. As far as I’m concerned, we don’t know each other, got it?” She questioned abruptly, her tone changing momentarily and going back to that icy front she kept up so well.
“35$ for that is a lot, I wouldn’t pay more tha $15 - whoever sold you it ripped you off.” He teased her a little. Talking about his overdose became easy to the male. The more he spoke about it the easier it became that at this point when he spoke about it he knew he was saying the words but they didn’t make him feel anything. It was a part of his story that Mateo liked to get out of the way the sooner the possible so nobody would really ask him questions if he would refuse a joint or taking in a line. “You’re not corrupting me, I’ve had my first hit from a joint at like 14, first line at 15 honestly you’re far from corrupting me.” He grinned a little and hearing her question he pressed his lips together into a thin line as he thought for a moment about her question. “That is actually a good question, I have no idea guess I’m gonna have to try my best. If I fail then oh fucking well, i’ll get sober the next day and start the time being sober again.” he laughed lightly and glanced over at the time on his phone when it hit him that it was almost football try outs time he stood up from the bench. Hearing the girls soft voice the male bit down on his lower lip and nodded his head in agreement. “Deal, but hey since I might have to act like I don’t know you I wanna do this one quick thing.” He spoke lightly as he leaned himself down a little, his face only inches away from hers. Before he pressed his lips against hers in a soft and delicate kiss. “Gotta say first time I’m jealous it was big ol’ pete that took you home.” He muttered against her lips and paused for a brief moment as his eyes met hers. “I should probably go.”
The girl instantly felt her body relax. This was one of the things that mellowed her out, made her feel somewhat normal. The discussion of how much she paid made a single giggle fall from her lips, dimples indenting in her cheeks as she shrugged “eh, it’s not like that’s a lot of money.” She concluded, cocking her head to the side in curiosity as she observered the male, maybe even studied him a bit. It was kind of crazy to think he probably had this whole fledged out like she knew nothing about. Everyone did, Elsa was constantly thinking about how everyone had this incredibly complicated and detailed lives which only overlapped here at the university. With a sigh, Elsa took a few more hits and then put out the little joint. She needed to go to some dumb sorority meeting and then they would be getting ready to do their usual frat party hopping. Sometimes she hated having to pretend she had no brain cells. On the outside, Elsa clearly fit in and looked the part. However, she was smart and driven. She knew what she wanted and didn’t let her age or privilege stop her. That didn’t mean she wasn’t spoiled and somewhat clueless about the world. Things just came easy to her and she never questioned it. As Mateo began to speak the girl found her attention on him. He somehow did that, kind of captivated her attention. She wouldn’t dare admit that though. The next moment was unexpected. One second he was speaking and the next their lips touched. It was really a gentle sort of kiss, nothing passionate or deep. However, Elsa could feel the sparks. They were evident, she knew there was chemistry. That much was obvious from the moment they met. As he pulled away the girl bit down roughly on her bottom lip, big Bambi like orbs on his face as she paused for a moment, collecting her thoughts. “Um, okay..” she murmured, knowing he had somewhere to be. As he began to walk out the girl called out to Mateo. “I suppose I’ll see you at your stupid frat party later, or maybe I won’t.” She mused, a little grin etched into her face as she glanced over at him and then away.
After trying out for the team Mateo obviously got accepted it was a pretty straight forward process and to be fair the fact that he was a part of that frat house probably helped a lot. Now it was around 9:30 pm, people started gathering at the big house, Mateo was wearing his black button up shirt with the top three buttons undone and his black ripped jeans, his hair was still slightly damp from the shower he took back at his dorm. Entering through the main door of the house he was immediately greeted by pete and the rest of the frat members, everyone introducing themselves as Mateo kept a polite smile on his face. Suddenly they handed him over a little baggie filled with white powder which of course the male immediately knew what it was, when they told him he has to take some as a part of the agreement he pressed his lips together and looked around the house briefly, that was when he spotted the familiar female. He wanted to ditch the guys and go and pretend to introduce himself but they kept on talking so Mateo simply rolled his eyes and pulled out his keys from his pocket before applying some of the white powder on top of it in a thin line Quickly he leaned forward and took one long drag. The moment the powder went up his nostrills he knew that this would be a mistake, but it was just one time and he was sure that one time didn’t matter and besides this was a party and he wasn’t planning on making anyone feel sorry for him by talking about his little overdose story. As soon as he took the drag the boys cheered him on and then eventually disappeared from his side. It took Mateo a slight moment to compose himself and when he did he spotted his dear old roommate beside Elsa’s side. Steadying himself he started to make his way towards the two and completely ignoring the fact his room mate was there he squeezed himself in the middle of them as he reached over for one of the red cups, once he grabbed it his gaze fell upon the brunette. “Oh hey, I’m Mateo.” He spoke lightly playing it like they have never met. When he felt a tap on his shoulder he looked over and spotted Pete. “Shit sorry my bad, didn’t see you there pete - but by the way they are looking for you…” He tried to blow the guy off and then when pete excused himself his attention fell back to the brunette he met earlier on that day. Leaning in he spoke through the music. “You know you look even better than I remember..” His voice soft, as he brushed his tongue over his lower lip to keep it damp.
Elsa was faced with a rather monotonous afternoon of working on final assignments. She also had the task of going around to her various professors and kissing ass until her grades looked exactly how she wanted them. Her parents didn’t care about much. However, their children’s grades were non negotiable. The Grimaldi kids either worked hard and earned their A’s or, their parents paid for the grades they wanted to see. It wasn’t something the girl necessarily liked. However, it was just another part of being a Grimaldi. The girl was independent, she was headstrong and stood on her own. However, she also belonged to a very powerful family and was the daughter of an incredibly controlling woman. It wasn’t too long before the young girl found herself getting ready for the night. Her sorority sisters all droning on about their intentions for the night. It humored Elsa how the girls all dressed the same. They all had the same lustrious blonde locks and clear blue eyes. They all were tall and tan and overall just the western standard of beauty. Elsa wasn’t, she was completely herself. Even their outfits were different, the girls all coordinated. Tonight, Elsa wore a tightly fitted white designer sweater and a little black plaid skirt. As usual, her outfit was completed with a pair of ridiculously expensive thigh high boots. The party was ridiculously predictable. As always there was beer pong, terrible music and a shit load of drugs to go around. The Bambi eyed girl found herself trapped in conversation with Pete— her hook up from the previous night. The one sided conversation about his hot English professor became rather unimportant as she caught a glimpse of a certain familiar male. “Mateo, is it?..” she purred with a deep dimpled smirk. “come here.” Elsa stepped closer to Mateo, her face inches from his as she reached up and brushed her thumb along a tiny trace of white lower from his nose “A little party favor, hmm? I thought you stayed away from this shit.” The stated, trying to come off as curious and not concerned.
“Yeah it is actually.” He smirked softly at her the moment she stepped a little closer to him he was hyper aware of her presence and thanks to the drug that he took earlier on every single thing he felt that touched his skin was magnified by 100x. So when she stepped closer to him the male casually placed his hand upon her waist, his brown eyes falling down to her lips which he still remembered the taste off from earlier on today, and the moment she touched his nose felt pretty much electrifying. He bit down upon his lower lip tugged it gently for a brief moment before shrugging his shoulders lightlt at her words. “It was one small line, it’s all good I’m all good.” He winked at her, gently he brushed his hand over the material of her clothes and the tip of his tongue grazed over his lower lip to keep it damp. Leaning in he planted a small kiss upon her cheek. “You look really good Els, definitely the best at this whole party.” He spoke softly, the drug was slowly taking a toll on the way he talked and the way he acted, usually when Mateo got high he went ahead and hooked up with the first person that was into it. “So I’m guessing you have been at this stupid frat house more than me, wanna give me a tour before they drag me away for the stupid introduction thing?” He arched his eyebrow slightly before dropping his hand by his side. Apart from breakfast in the morning Mateo didn’t have a chance to eat so even the tiniest line of that drug hit him harder than it normally would have.
The girl’s big brown orbs linked with his own lighter ones. Elsa didn’t get a very clear look at the male earlier. Sure, they talked and spent a little time together. Hell, they even shared a brief kiss. However, she was hyper aware of his presence at the moment and noticed things she hadn’t picked up on before. She was sober and for whatever reason, she was in a good mood. He intrigued her, peaked her interest. She wouldn’t admit it, but she wanted to get to know him. His hand felt red hot against the thin material which covered her hips. The petite girl bit down on her bottom lip ever so slightly. Her bambi like gaze flickering from his eyes to hip lips. She was in somewhat of a daze. The music was loud and full of base. The lights were dim and the air felt thick from all the sweaty grinding students. With all of the distractions around her, Elsa found her attention stuck on the male. He somehow kept her engaged— interested. As Mateo leaned in the girl thought there was a kiss coming. Instead, his lips diverted to her cheeks and the brunette girl found her cheeks flooded with a vibrant rosy color. “Yeah, well you clean up kinda nice as well.” She chided, deep dimpled smirk painting itself across her delicate features. “Alright, come on. First stop, the fridge full of nothing but liquor.” She sang out, her arm interlocking with his own as she walked by his side. “Your thoughts so far? This is going to be your house after all..”
When she complimented him Mateo looked down at his outfit and then at the people around him and he realised that he was probably the only person there wearing a button up black shirt. “Yeah well what can I say, I am clearly a fashion icon.” He grinned slightly, leaning himself against the little table not even for comfort but to keep himself steady from falling over after the dizziness he was currently experiencing and the random flashing llights. “ Ahhh yes how exciting, can’t wait to live purely off alcohol.” Sarcasm laced around his words, whenever it came to party substances Mateo’s option was always drugs and very rarely alcohol, the only time he picked alcohol was when the other option was unavailable. Mateo pretty much followed Elsa around as if he was a lost puppy and she was his owner showing him around the new house. He held onto different pieces of furniture as they walked to seem as sober as it was humanly possible. “Hmmm it’s big, it’s loud … - it’s full of guys though I don’t know if I enjoy the idea of just living with a bunch of frat boys but yeah I can’t complain, it’s a decent house. The liquor fridge definitely does it for me.” He leaned himself against the kitchen counter top and reached into the fruit basket pulling on a grape before popping it into his mouth. “Oh I forgot to tell you, I made it onto the team. I’m gonna play attack. I was a bit surprised I thought they would want me to be a bench boy at first but the coach is pretty confident that I should be on the field.” He commented lightly as if it was nothing, cause to him it was pretty much just an extra curricular that he did to make sure he gets to stay in this university. Reaching out he took her hand in his and pulled her into him. “I can’t wait to see you on the field angel face.” He winked at her in a rather playful manner.
Elsa continued to show the male around the large house. It was noisy and busy and full of stupid college students. However, she began to forget just where they were. She was kind of at peace— it was odd. Being around Mateo put her at a indescribable state of peace. She wouldn’t admit it hell, the girl didn’t even understand what it was about him. It was fine for now though, she figured it would be something temporary and fleeting. She spoke about the parts of the house, describing things that happened in certain areas during parties. It was interesting to think that this would be his home. He would soon be one of the guys she truly despised. Hopefully things were different— maybe he wasn’t going to turn out that way. Or maybe he was, truthfully the girl didn’t know him but something felt like she did. Elsa lifted herself up onto the marble countertop. Her legs swinging back and fourth as she sipped at a cup of jungle juice she poured. The house was amazing, it was a dump due to the guys but, it was expensive and huge. Just like all of the other parts of the multi million dollar campus. They were all spoiled rich kids running around with their parents money. “The team hmm, I guess I’ll see you more often than I wanted to.” The girl sang out, lips upturned into a devilish dimpled smirk as she leaned over to look at the male. As he grabbed her hand, Elsa couldn’t help but to feel the unfamiliar sensation of butterflies deep in the pit of her stomach. The brunette glanced down at their intertwined hands, her big brown orbs flickering up to meet his as she felt rather stunned for a moment. “Um—“ she hummed momentarily, lost in her thoughts. Then, she snapped back to reality and shook her head. “Don’t call me angel face, unless you wanna see me turn into the devil.” The girl chided, running her manicured index finger down his chest as her orbs glanced to his lips and then back to his face. “Okay, come on dummy. Let’s go look upstairs.”
There was something about Elsa that made Mateo feel at ease and despite the fact he had drugs in his system next to her he felt somewhat sober. Well - it could have also been the fact that Mateo was given some of the cheaper drugs that they had which of course had much of a shorter effect on a person than the pricier ones. Hwever they also impacted the person in the sobering up part a bit more. The more Mateo looked arouns the house the more potential he saw in it and the more he seemed to blend in. Of course he realised the glances him and elsa got but that was probably because she was there with him and not the other way round. As he leaned himself against the counter he observed the people around them how they behaved etc. This definitely wasn’t a type of party mateo was uses to usually by now there would be a fight occuring somewhere but here the atmosphere was quite ‘nice’ As Elsa approached him he bit on his lower lip listening to her words slowly his gaze fell upon her hand as she slowly trailed her fingers over his chest. Thanks to the drugs Mateo was hyper aware of everysingle touch and the way he could feel it mark his skin without actually touching him. He looked back up at her and from the corner of his eye he could see some of the frat boys in the distance clearly looking in their direction. The tip of his tongue trailed over his lower lip as he parted his lips slightly. “ maybe i should say it more often then huh” he spoke softly with a smooth movement he brought her closer to hm and pressed his lips against hers in a much deeper kiss than last time his hand moving over her waist as he turned them around so she was pressed against the counter. He parted himself slightly away form her. Brushing his tongue over his lower lip . “ i would love to see the upstairs, lead the way.”
He was flirting, that much was obvious. He was a very flirty guy. Elsa knew that, it was evident under the influence as much as it was while the male was sober. He just had that type of personality. He was annoying and obnoxious and overly confident. He was also incredibly intriguing to the young girl. Their kiss— it left an explosion of butterflies in the pit of her stomach. This feeling, it was unfamiliar and exciting. She wanted more of it, more of him. They weren’t close enough, she needed to feel him deeper. Her hands gripped roughly at the hair on the nape of his neck. Her lips parted, eyes closed and breath shallow. After a few moments, the girl was reminded that they were in public. She pulled away abruptly, grazing the pad of her thumb along her lips. “Yeah, um upstairs. Let’s go there—“ she stumbled over her words, turning on her heels as she made her way upstairs. “There’s so many rooms in this stupid house, I think half of them are actually empty.” She murmured lowly, walking at the males side as she dipped her head in random rooms rather curiously. “Hopefully you don’t turn into one of these idiot frat boys..” she began, big brown orbs peering up at him variously as she caught her bottom lip in between her teeth and paused for a moment. “…’cus I was starting to kinda like you.” The girl purred out, winking at the dark haired boy before she continued on their little tour. “What brings you to the college anyways? You kinda seem like you have your shit together and well, no one here really does. Despite the grades and they money.”
Mateo never lacked in confidence ever since he was a kid he was never afraid to speak up in a room full of people and always wanted to be seen then when he grew up and found out that girls actually dug confidence it only encouraged him and before he knew ir flirting with a girl came as easy to him as breathing did. No matter who the girl was he managed to find his way around her. Seeing Elsa’s reaction made him smirk a little and he started to follow her upstairs. Squeezing past the people making out on the stair case and what not. “ I’m guessing the spares are the rooms for people to hook up in.” Mateo chuckled lightly as he walked by her side he watched her dip her head into the random rooms “ aren’t you scared you’ll see some weird shit there and get traumatised?” He questioned lighly. When he listened to her talk he glanced over at her and bit down on his lower lip as he thought about it for a brief moment. “ Lets make a deal, if i ever do become one of those guys i’ll let you beat me up and hate on me … in bed of course.” Winking at her rather playfully he gently nudged her with his elbow. “ I wanna be an architect, unfortunately you need a degree for that and this is one of the best schools there is so here I am.” There was no way Mateo would tell her he won some stupid scholarship he didn’t want her to look at him differently
A soft giggle tumbled from her plump pink lips. The girl couldn’t help but to laugh. She had seen more than enough in this house, it was quite traumatizing to say the least. “I saw my English professor hooking up with one of the guys in that room over there.” The girl pointed over to an empty room. “It was an image I thought about for weeks. Surprisingly, she’s still employed here.” Elsa chimed in, raising a sharp brow at the boy as they continued to move through the house. “You’ll let me kick your ass? Oh wow, this day just gets better and better.” The hummed playfully, nudging the boy as she walked with a little pep in her step, brunette ponytail swinging behind her. “An architect, seriously?” The petite girl asked, her lips curving into a dimpled smirk. “Wow, you really are some kind freak show, huh. Like you’re literally one of a kind on this stupid campus. Sure, there’s a huge architecture program here and it’s really prestigious or whatever. But, the guys there, they don’t look like you or talk like you. You’re—different.” Elsa glanced away from the male, brushing a loose strand of hair from her eyes. “That wasn’t a compliment by the way..” she finished rather awkwardly, her cheeks flushing with a pink hue as she turned away from the blue eyed male. “I want to be a marine biologist, or I wanted to. I don’t know..” she sighed rather roughly, shaking her head in annoyance, why would he even care to hear her stupid little story. “I wanted to clean up the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. 30% off the reef is literally dead—“ the girl stopped mid sentence, cursing as that same pink blush returned to her cheeks. “Alright, lets go back downstairs. I’m sure your brothers can’t wait to torture you with beer pong and other dumb party games.”
“ I once hooked up with my old high school teacher after i graduated. She taught art and after I graduated i went to collect some old work of mine it was much after school hours she was there and well it happened. She did say i was the best student she ever had later.” Mateo shook his head lightly at the memory he didnt hook up with his art teacher because he had a liking into her, he hooked up with her because he could that was all. “Hey hey i did say in bed.” Mateo teased her a little. It was plainly obvious that he was attracted to Elsa after all everyone that wasn’t blind would be. He briefly got lost in his own fantasies as he looked the brunette up and down taking in every inch of her a light chuckle leaving his mouth at her words before he looked away. “ yeah architect wanted it since I was a kid believe it or not.” Brushing his fingers through his hair he continued to listen to her a small smirk spreading on his face. “ Yeah not every guy can look this good unfortunately.. Especially not if they wanna do architecture what a bunch of nerds.” Even in hgh school Mateos grades were always at the top he never got himself into a relationship cause he prioritised his future the only thing he had time for was meaningless hook ups. Mateo looked over at Elsa as she spoke and nodded his head “Yeah i knew you were more than just a pretty face.” He spoke lightly. “ i say go for it, you have nothing to lose and it seems like you do care about it so do it chase that goal.” Eventually he stopped walking and leaned himself against one of the walls by a door. Taking her hand in his he gently brushed his thumb over her knucles. “I would much rather stay up here with you..” gently pushing the door open he saw that it didn’t have any other furniture apart from a bed a night stand and a tv hanging on the wall. “Guess this could be my room… your choice. We can stay here ” he gently lifted his hand and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear glancing down at her lips before returning his gaze to hers. “And Continue what started downstairs.” Gently brushing his thumb over her lower lip . “ Or go downstairs to the party. By the way the whole act like you don’t know me plan clearly went to fuck itself.”
“Of course you did, you look like a teachers pet.” The brown orbs girl chimed in, a deep dimpled smirk gracing her petite features. “I hope it was worth it at least.” She murmured, raising a brow at the boy before lifting her red solo cup to her lips and taking a long sip. She was at ease in his presence, despite being in a house of rowdy college students. Their connection was electrical, it was something the girl couldn’t ignore. Sure, things were new and whatever this feeling was between them could be sexual and die down the minute they got into a bed together. Or, this could be something different, something Elsa had no experience with. She found herself unconsciously studying his features. Noticing small details she previously missed. The way his smug little smirk created smile lines in his cheeks, the way his eyes crinkled when he smiled. The brunette girl could point out a number of things she picked up on in just the last few minutes. It was becoming a little habit, for Elsa to almost study him. She found herself zoning out far too often. The girl didn’t want to let her guard down, she didn’t want to give him the impression that she found him interesting. “Yeah, you say go for it, my parents say that’s not part of the plan.” The girl trailed off in annoyance, running her fingers through her long chocolate locks. The simple act of Mateo running his thumbs along her knuckles sent shivers down Elsa’s spine. It was intimate, more than meaningless sex or a drunken bar make out session. His touches were delicate and calculated. He knew exactly what he was doing and Elsa secretly didn’t want him to stop. “I could see it now..” she began, stepping closer to the male as she grazed her lips over his own. “..This could be the room I sneak myself out of every morning after our super hot “I don’t know you” sex.” She purred out, eyes closing as Elsa paused and simply felt the energy coming off of him. It was getting harder to pull herself away. The brown eyed girl wanted to crash her lips into his and lose herself in his touch. It was too easy to just give in. Elsa bit down roughly on her bottom lip, eyes locked with his before letting out a sharp sigh. She then pulled away abruptly and plopped herself down on the bed, finishing the cup of liquor. “There’s this stupid trip that a bunch of the fraternities and sororities are taking this weekend. It’s like some kind of skiing snow resort thing. I’m letting you know now before they sweep you away and force you to learn how to snowboard.” She began to explain, her eyes momentarily scanning over his face. “..and before you ask, yes I’ll be there. Don’t even worry I know you would be bored without me, Solano.”
“Actually it wasn’t” Mateo chuckled as he brushed his fingers through his hair cringing a little at the memory of that one day that was probably his biggest regret when it came to people he slept with. Mateo truly admired the girl a lot, everything about her he found absolutely fascinating and most importantly he enjoyed how she changed her attitude towards him within a split of a second. One time she was warm and almost seemed vulnerable but before he even knew it the cold air blew again and something about that highly caught his interest. “Didn’t think you would be such a listen to parents kinda girl at least thats not the vibe you gave off.” He teased her a little. “So what are your parents plans for you then.” He asked her keeping his tone light and welcoming. When she took a step towards him and grazed her lips just briefly over his Mateo almost felt the air get trapped in his airways. Then her words followed and he closed his eyes for a brief moment allowing his imagination to flow over the possible scenario. “Every morning huh? I absolutely cannot wait then.” He spoke softly his voice a bit lower than usual despite the fact nio one was around Mateo wanted to keep this between them as much as possible. Mateo dropped himself down on the bed laying on his side as he gently lifted his hand up and started tracing little shapes over Elsa’s back whilst she sat up facing away from him. “Oh is there, now what if i don’t wanna go what happens then?” He questioned lightly. “Well now that I know you will be there seems like I definitely have to go huh.” He spoke lightly before sitting himslef down behind her, putting each leg on each of her sides he gently planted a small kiss on her shoulder leading up to her neck. “I’m more than sure that you will definitely keep me entertained.” He continued to leave small kisses over her neck. Slowly sliding his hand over her torso in a soft and delicate manner. “They are probably looking for us you know.” Mateo spoke in between kisses when he found her sweet sopot and gently started to suck on it.
This room felt like a safe haven. They were being harbored and hidden but the four walls that stood tall in the little room. They could be alone here, just the two of them. They didn’t have to put on an act or pretend like they belonged downstairs. The two of them knew deep down that they in fact did not belong. They were different, anyone could see if but not appearance wise. That’s why she was still here, spending her precious time speaking with the male. Elsa saw something in him she hadn’t really seen in anyone else. It excited her— amazed her. He was different in every sense of the word and Elsa wanted to learn more. As she sat there, his fingers brushing against her back, the girl felt at ease. She was relaxed and almost at home. Something about him was comforting. She didn’t want to move from right here. His fingers sent shivers down her spine, she was hyperaware of his touch at all times, it evoked a number of unfamiliar sensations for the doe eyed girl. Her body went ridged for a moment as she felt the bed dip and Mateo sit right behind her. His back pressed to her’s as his lips began to leave a happy little trail along her skin. Her eyes fluttered closed and lips parted in pleasure as he made his presence known along her neck. His hand was at her side and then grazing along her stomach. It all put the girl in a deep state of ecstasy as she relaxed and surrounded to his touch. “Fuck them..” the girl all but growled out, her face scrunching up in annoyance at the mention of of anyone else. Soon though, her thought were interrupted by the voice of one of her friends calling for her. The petite girl sighed roughly, pulling away from the male as she playfully pushed him against the bed. “I’ll see you this weekend on the trip then, Solano.” She purred out, straddling him momentarily as she tapped her finger against his nose and then ran out of the room in a fit of giggles to find her friends.
//. Time skip? :)
Its been several days since the introduction party Mateo was busy moving into his new room and making it more his. He also installed some locks after catching one of his frat brothers in his bedroom with a random girl. There was also football practice and well the nights where all the boys would do drugs so it was fair to say that he didn’t have a lot of time to see elsa as on top of all of that he started prepping the materials for his lectures. The day before the trip the boys went out to buy some suitable clothing for the winter that they would have to face being told that the snowboards will be there for them he didn’t bother to buy one after all the trip was organised by the headmistress paying for two of the biggest fraternity and sorority houses ro go and have some fun. Mateo rolled his suitcase towards the big coach that everyone had to share and the driver simply grabbed it and dumped it into the designated space. Getting inside he spotted a free sear next to Elsa and smiled softly at the brunette but as he was about to reach it one of the other boys beat him to it. ‘Soz matty you snooze you lose.’ Pete smiled at him and Mateo patted his shoulder. “Fair played.” He slid himself into the seat behind them sitting directly behind the grimaldi girl, quite thankfully Mateo was hoping for the enjoyement of having two seats to himself but of course you can only dream. “Don’t worry pete i’m right behind you so you can hold my hand when you get scared.” The male teased lightly and before he knew it one of the girls from the sororities has sat herself down next to him. Mateo smiled ay her politely and then shifted his gaze to the window. He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and quickly wrote down ‘i missed you ;(‘ before slidding it over to elsa through the little gap.
Elsa had finished classes for the week. They went by painfully slow as usual. Her grades were high as usual thanks to a week of bribing and talking her way out of missing assignments. The weekend meant one thing, the annual ski trip the students took. Of course instead of spending money on academics or bettering the student’s future, the sorority and fraternity chose to spend it on a grand trip. Elsa was happy though, she couldn’t wait to spend the weekend not on campus. Of course, there was the blue eyed boy who had caught her attention recently. He was a very good reason to look forward to the trip. However, the girl wouldn’t dare to say that. She had a show to put on, a facade to keep up. The girl couldn’t allow herself to appear weak, especially for a man. The freshman or new memebers of the two biggest sororities and fraternities usually had a secret tradition at the trip each year. The goal was the sleep with as many people on the trip as possible with proof, whether it was a picture or a pair of underwear. It was gross and questionable but, it was a long held tradition and each of the winners usually got bragging rights and these dumb homemade trophies. Elsa’s mother somehow won in her first year at the same sorority Elsa was in. So, It was the main focus of all of Elsa’s friends right now. The girl’s mind was somewhere else, practically on another planet. She shifted rather uncomfortably in her seat, messing with the oversized brown Louis Vuitton jacket she wore. The bus was impossibly hot and for some reason the scattered yells and voices of the bus full of college students were annoying her to no end. Soon, she spotted Mateo and it was almost impossible for her not to flash a little dimpled smirk at the male. Their moment was interrupted by the obnoxious blonde male she shared a night with not that long ago. What was his name again? That question was soon answered by Mateo which elicited a little laugh from the girl. As Pete began to babble on, a note caught the brunette girl’s attention. She beamed at the message, shaking her head in annoyance as she turned it over and passed it back with a message “tell Candace to keep her hands to herself, I don’t like sloppy seconds”
The whole journey was rather peaceful, Candace was constantly telling Mateo about some things he wasn’t even half interested in and every time Mateo heard Pete say some random fact to impress the brunette beside him he would disagree from the back with a contradicting fact. He knew about the whole game as to who will sleep with more people can get bragging rights he knew about it for so he made a deal with a few of the girls that they can count him as their score but only if he could count them as his. Of course without actually sleeping with them, and he was gonna make sure that none of the other guys would even have a shot with Elsa. Stupidly enough he was slight jealous about the idea of her with someone else not that he would ever confess to it. Mateo didn’t do commitment or attachments especially not with girls from places like this. Every now and then the blue eyed male would stick his hand through the little gap between the window and Elsa’s seat and gently poke her arm however eventually the journey became tiring and Mateo pulled the hood of his black hoodie over his head and rested his head against the glass before drifting off to sleep, he felt Candace rest her head on his shoulder but he was to far gone to do anything about it. He managed to fall asleep rather quickly and stayed like that throughout the rest of the journey. Even the little bumps in the road didn’t seem to bother him at this point, Mateo was so soundly asleep that he wasn’t even sure when they arrived at the resort.
The ride to the ski lodge resort was about three hours long. It was excruciatingly painful with someone as talkative as Pete as your partner. Mateos’s little nudges put a smirk on the girl’s face, that is until they stopped and she was forced to avoid Pete by taking a nap. Their arrival at the resort woke the brunette girl up rather quickly. Big brown orbs opening quickly as she scrambled to get her things and get off the bus. Long brunette locks bouncing around as she walked briskly through the cold. “Pete—“ the girl began, stopping in her tracks and she turned on her heels and gave him a death glare. “I mean this as nicely as possible. Stop following me around like a sad little puppy, no amount of sex on earth is worth the frown lines your terrible jokes and insanely boring stores are eventually going to give me.” She snapped sharply, offering the male a deep dimpled smile after as she waved goodbye and continued walking. A moan of annoyance falling from her lips as a bunch of the people around them clapped sarcastically. “Hey you, whatever your name is. Help me carry my bags up.” Elsa loudly called out, grabbing Mateo away from the two girls who were speaking with him. “Save me please—“ she whispered, leading the male into the back enterance of the resort. “What room did they assign you to? Apparently the top two floors have the best rooms and I refuse to sleep anywhere else.” The girl mused, flipping her long locks off of her shoulders as she walked by his side.”
Mateo slept throughout majority of the journey, he felt the girl beside him rest her head on his shoulder but he wasn’t particularly bothered whwn the coach stopped the girl beside him nudged him awake rubbinb his eyes he climbed out of his seat and got the keys to his room handed to him by the bus driver. Mateo went to collect his suitcase and then was stopped by two girls that started talking to him. Being half asleep didnt help in his conversations but he still managed to keep up somehow. When Elsa pulled him away from the group of girls mateo just waved his goodbyes. “Happily.” He smiled softly at her words. “Did you enjoy the drive, your friend made my shoulder her pillow and now its all fucking stiff.” He complained as he rubbed the shoulder the girl rested her head on. “Are you suggesting that you wanna stay in my room with me… ahh grimaldi what would the people think.” He teased her a little before looking at the number on his key. The keys were handed to students as they left the bus so the sooner you left the better your room was and since mateo was one of the first people out he managed to secure himself a better room that he didnt share with anyone “uh room 342” The male spoke before looking over at her a light smirk playing on his face. “What about you?”
“Oh shut up, I don’t want to to share a room with you, Solano. My room happens to be a few doors down.” The petite girl teased, nudging the male playfully as they walked side by side rather quietly. There were people who worked at the resort that were assisting the college kids with their bags. So, she only had a small one to carry. Despite the trip only being a weekend long the girl packed rather heavily. It was practically part of the girl’s genetic make up, she just came with an extensive designer wardrobe and a nasty shopping habit. “I hope you’re not planning on snowboarding in that.” She chirped out, her tone a bit sassy as she looked at the boy in genuine concern. “I swear, you dress like the lead singer of some 90’s indie band or something.” She continued to tease, setting her bag down at her door before the arrived to his. “The girls from my sorority really are all over you, aren’t they.” She noted, her tone a bit less enthusiastic as she glanced up at the male, arms crossed over each other. “Are you doing that contest thing?” She asked, her voice softening before she turned on her heels and used his card to open his room door. Big brown orbs narrowed as her face changed from its usual perky expression to one of annoyance “Not that I would care, you’re a frat boy now, it’s what you’re supposed to do. I don’t really expect anything different from you.” After glancing around the room, the girl turned on her heels. “I’ll see you on the slopes— I have some things to take care of.” The girl called out, swiftly dipping off to her room.
“ oh now thats definitely a shame i mean i would welcome you with open arms.” When the people working at the hotel offered help Mateo politely declines after all he was more than happy to carry his own atuff. Mateo shook his head at her question. “God no i felt the fucking cold as soon as i got off the bus i don’t wanna freeze to death im this place.” Mateo probably wasnt the most stylish person in the world simoly because he always decided to go for comfort rather than anything else. “Thank you, thats so sweet of you.” He teased her a little as he placed his hand over his heart pretending that he truly felt her words and took them as a compliment. When they arrived outside his room and he heard her comment the male couldn’t help but smirk a little. Vould the brunette be a lil bit jealous? “ They are very persistent and some even slightly clingy.” Walking inside his room he took a quick glance around it ans Elsa’s question took him off guard a little. Was mateo gonna participate probably not but did he want to win yes and of course he had a plan. Dropping his suitcase on the floor he bit upon his lower lip acting like he was thinking about an answer whilst brushing his fingers through his dark brown hair. “No I’m not participating.. i don’t feel the need to.” He spoke lightly shrugging his shoulders. “Hey don’t give me that you’re a frat boy now talk, those contests aren’t really up my alley.” He added and then watched her leave. A soft sigh leaving his mouth as he opened his suitcase and took out his snowboarding clothes.
Elsa was a bit flustered. Actually, she was very flustered. But, that wouldn’t be a topic she would be admitting to. Her little game she had with Mateo, or whatever it was, their harmless flirting was fun. She liked it, the banter and being able to talk to a man with half a brain. However, she felt this odd feeling today being around him. Jealously maybe? How could she feel jealously for a man that wasn’t hers. Maybe they had been spending a bit too much alone time together and Elsa just needed to turn her attention else where. Whatever it was, the girl didn’t like it. After changing into her snowboarding gear, the girl found herself ready to brace the cold. Long chocolate curls pulled up into a high ponytail as she held the mandatory snow goggles in her hands. After settling in all of the students met at the slopes, ready with their expensive gear, as if it were a competition to see who could spend the most money. The Grimaldi girl of course, spared no measure. While they were here to study, college was also a social hierarchy and the girl had every intention of staying on top. As the instructor addressed the large group, the girl found her eyes wandering and meeting with Mateo’s own deep blue ones. For a moment she froze and then glanced away, shamelessly flirting with whatever idiot was next to her. “Are you going to help me down the slopes?” She asked suggestively, flashing a dimpled smirk at the blonde haired boy, knowing damn well she could handle herself on a snowboard.
Mateo didn’t have much experience on professional snowboards, back at home whenever it would snow a lot they would find whatever worked best and would slide down the hills of snow without any safety measures. The boy was dressed in his snowboarding outfit as he made his way to the meet up spot of course, being slightly late. When he arrived his initial plan was to go meet Elsa but then he spotted the brunette with a familiar blonde male that was in the same fraternity as Mateo. So therefore when one of the sorority girls approached him and tugged at his arm he went without putting on much of a fight. “I’m not a pro at this.” He warned the blonde girl a soft laugh formed at the back of his throat as he watched her wiggle a little. Mateo helped her get her feet in the right position and made sure that the snowboard was well attached to her feet and then he gave her a gentle little nudge and watched how well she actually handled the board. “Rich kids.’ He muttered under his breath, steadying himself on the board he glanced around and spoted Elsa with the Lucas boy she was talking to earlier. Fixing the special goggles he took a deep breath and started going down the hill, speeding up a little as he got closer to them and gently tilting his board it caused the snow to go all over the blonde boy. ‘My bad’ Mateo called out as he continued to slide down, feeling the wind on his cheeks felt rather refreshing this whole thing felt good. ‘It’s just like a skateboard.’ he would repeat to himself as he was approaching one of the special ramps, sliding onto it with full speed the ramp shot him up into the air, Mateo knew if he would land without finding the right position he could badly hurt himself so quickly he did a slight back flip whilst in the air and then landed back on the snow with the board hitting it smoothly. Stopping the board near the bottom the male lifted up his goggles and to look up the hill. Maybe this whole trip wasn’t gonna be so bad. Stepping off the board he held it in his hand as he watched Elsa come down for a brief moment. “Sorry about the snow earlier, wasn’t my intention.” The male called out whilst a cocky smirk played on his face.
Elsa was currently trying to maneuver the board. Going on trips like this was common for the girl. She knew what she was doing. However, she usually hung out at the spa while her family took snowboarding rather seriously. The girl straightened out her knees, holding onto the males arm as she glided slowly down the hill. Soon she got comfortable with the board and began to go off on her own a bit, the male folowing close behind her. It felt good, to have the freezing air touch whatever bare skin she had exposed. As she turned back to glance at the boy who wasn’t far from her, Mateo all of a sudden came into frame. The blue eyed male zoomed past the two of them, snow covering the guy who was a part of Mateo’s fraternity. Giggles falling from Elsa’s lips as she tried her best to get away from the male. Elsa watched as Mateo continued to snowboard, going off and doing a little trick right on front of the girl. The brunette girl clapped slowly, making her way over as he offered a superficial apology for his behavior earlier. “Oh please, you meant that. Besides, it was kinda hot, Solano.” The girl purred out, playfully pushing him back into the snow. “Come on, let’s race. First person down the hill has to buy the other hot coco.” The girl mused, pushing off and getting a head start.
Mateo watched her as she approached him and he shrugged hus shoulders lightly at her words. “Oh come on I would never do such a thing on purpose.” He laughed a little as she pushed him back into the snow. Hearing her talk about the race mateo was quickly back up on hia feet. He watched her have her headstart and then followed after her. “That’s cheating you know” he called out after her as he leaned himself slightly forward to try and add more speed to his snowboard. When Mateo started to get closer to the female he slowed down a little and then picked up the pace once again. Going so fast that he struggled to stop the board so instead of stopping it he crashed right into Elsa of course wrapping his arms around her as they both fell into the snow, him first and he made sure she fell on top in order to not hurt herseld. “Ouch my ribs.” The male complained as her elbow dug into his body during the fall. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
Elsa did this often, snowboarding wasn’t new to her at all. Her family often took trips like this one. However, they never really spent time together so she found herself venturing off on her own. She didn’t mind though, it was something the girl got used to with the type of parents she had. They didn’t have time for kids. So, she was dumped off on a nanny until she was old enough to take care of herself. Despite being surrounded by friends and expensive possessions, Elsa always felt alone. She had yet to connect with someone on the level she craved. So, she kept to herself and liked it that way. There were two versions of the Grimaldi girl. The one that she presented to the outside world, who had a cold exterior and superficial personality. Then there was the true Elsa, which little got to experience. As they raced down the hill the girl felt the exhilarating sensation of freedom. The wind, the feeling of the cold air, the possibility of falling. It was all just exhilarating. Soon, she lost her balance thanks to the boy behind her and the girl came tumbling down along with him. The two fell into the fluffy snow, Elsa landing right on top of the blue eyed male. Her arms gripping securely to his neck as they landed. For a moment, the girl paused, her breathing heavy as she hovered over him. Then, she came back to and couldn’t help the fit of giggles that came over her. “If I would have broken a finger you would have been responsible.” She playfully scolded, rolling off of him and laying in the snow, her goggle covered eyes peering up at the sky. “You’re like, not that annoying to be around..” she murmured softly, her arms and legs stretched out as she began to make a snow angel. “Don’t repeat that though, I can’t have anyone think I like you.”
