Robby + being the emergency
THE PITT 1.12 | 2.15
Ok so what about a 300k (probably more) words, 20 chapters (about 15k per chapter but could be more) The Pitt fantasy au (technically BOTW but for who doesn't know the game it can be easily read as a fantasy au)
Dennis has to save the world + prob hucklerobby + whitsantos siblingism + literally every single character is present or at least appears at some point and we're not demonizing anybody
Would anybody be interested in that
You could take it as your substitute The Pitt S3 while waiting for the actual S3
“you know what i saw in rehab? i saw a bunch of guys just like you the only difference is they’ve accepted that they need help” OH MY GOD?
the fact that Robby is the chief of that ED often seems to be overlooked. or is neatly labeled as a case of 'white male privilege'. and so part of the fandom files signs of his mental deterioration as further proof of the systemic harm he's been causing to the entire ED. ok.
it's implied that his predecessor was Adamson, meaning Robby must have assumed the position during the pandemic. the death of his mentor is the personal tragedy, the breaking point for Robby's character. and it's used as an emotional anchor for an audience.
but the overall hell of the pandemic. the responsibility to lead ED through it - part of which is making hard choices on how to use limited resources. that is the work-related root of his ptsd.
many times we've been told that the ED is understaffed, under strain, and on a tight budget. there is a work overflow. and yeah, we applaud Joy for having a healthy attitude towards work. but the reality is: if someone doesn't take on the workload, it only means that someone else has to. we were shown the demands being put on nurses and doctors. it's no different for the head of the department.
after her orientation shift, Al-Hashimi realises that that's a two-person job she is being hired to do. Robby asks if getting a second attending is smth that she's worked out with Gloria. seems like he has a reason to doubt that Dr. Al's recommendation will be taken into account.
and don't forget. yeah, a teacher/mentor role of an attending is the most visible one as it gives exposition in the show. but attendings hold the ultimate responsibility for all the patient care MSs/residents provide under their supervision.
so. the chief of the ED in the trauma center and the sole attending on a day shift. who led the department through the pandemic, through the MCI. who can't name the last time he took more than 3 days off. who has the final responsibility to make sure the job is done. in a system that won't provide enough resources. seems important to the story.

BARANTOS AGENDA WINS OMFGGGG
I'm not okay
After Robby gets into a horrible accident on his motorcycle, he is somehow transported back to PTMC
When he wakes up from his medically induced coma, they realize he’s suffering from temporary partial memory loss
He knows he’s a doctor, he lives in Pittsburgh, yada yada. It’s just personal relationships that seem to be all scrambled in his head. He knows Jack, Dana seems familiar, everyone else is really fuzzy, but Dennis seems to be unusually prominent in his memories
People write it off as Dennis being the last person to talk to Robby before he rode off
Dennis, with his sacrificial savior complex and enormous crush on his boss, volunteers to take care of Robby. I mean, he already has the keys to the place, and Robby seems most comfortable with that idea
Dennis is changing his bandages, scolding the older man when he moves around too much, coaxing him to relax, and entertaining him when he gets bored
He's cooking nutritional meals, making sure Robby takes his medicine on time, going out on nature walks with him so he's not just cooped up inside
It suddenly clicks in Robby’s mind. This is his husband!
When Dennis is feeding Robby a bite of this new dessert he’s trying out, Robby thanks him by leaning over and pecking his lips, y’know, like a husband would do
Dennis lights up in a furious blush, making Robby confused as he stutters out an excuse and flees from the house
Robby noticed before that Dennis doesn’t have anything personal around his house; it’s all Robby’s
Robby is horrified to think that they’re in the middle of a separation, and the only reason why Dennis stuck around was guilt and some sort of misplaced obligation
Now Robby is on a mission to win back his husband and stop the divorce from happening
He calls up Jack and tells him his plans, confused on why Jack is howling with laughter, while Trinity is laughing at Dennis back at her apartment, while he’s face down on the couch and screaming
When the dam finally breaks …
Jack will be there to catch him when he falls.
it’s the same picture
so obsessed with how Emma walks in to ptmc vs how she leaves.
the first time we see her, she's eager in a way that's sort of a cover-up for anxiety. way over prepared, face dropping for a moment in worry as Dana takes her stuff, eyes wide as she follows her around. sweet but shaky and unsure, a little overwhelmed.
the last time we see her, after the literal shift from hell, somehow, she's so much more settled. she subtly tries to cheer Dana up, goes on rounds. she's steady in her treatment of digby and so so kind. she adapted. her care for those around her softened the blow of what happened to her.
"I guess time will tell if I'm cut out for this." baby girl you ARE. you are exactly what this place needs. I luv u emma nolan
You did your best. We all did.
DANA EVANS & MICHAEL 'ROBBY' ROBINAVITCH THE PITT (2025-) → 1.15 '9:00 P.M.'
#DunKing of The Pitt
It is a requirement as a day shift attending to have the most beautiful big sad eyes 🥺
"wow you blocked me just cuz i disagreed with you???"
yes. yes, exactly. this is a social media site. i come here to look at pictures of birds and shitpost with my friends. this is not a town hall meeting; i am not your elected official. i do not owe you my energy, my space, or my time. you and i are strangers that use the same website. i can block you for literally any reason and that's okay. take a deep breath. block me too. you'll feel better.
maybe it's just me, but the fact that Dana didn't know that Robby's mom left him speaks miles about how many things he keeps inside
