aliceabsolutelyâ:
Alice had been worried there would be more distance between them after school. It was a relief to hear that he wanted to work with her. She hadnât thought theyâd stop being friends, but she knew not living together anymore, having full time jobs, would mean less time. However, being partners meant she would spend her work day with him. She wanted the familiarity in a new environment. It would make the transition easier, and he was going to be the best in her opinion.
âDare.â That had to be safer. He could pick something silly and they could move on without her having to explain why she kept staring at him. She just had to refrain from doing or saying anything that would instigate an awkward conversation. A rejection would be too much right now. Then she just had to hear him and answer anyways. âThen they should ask what she wants. Some princesses want knights. They have their own feelings and want to make the choice for themselves.â How did she let a silly conversation about their childhood games turn into this?
âHmm, a dare.â He said and gave himself some time to think while trying to actually keep himself together. In his mind, he wanted to believe that he and Alice were meaning the same thing when they spoke about princesses and their knights. But, that was just too hard to believe. And if he didnât stop that conversation now he was going to end up saying something completely stupid that would either make Alice extremely uncomfortable or hate him. And he wanted neither. âI know! I dare you to dance in the silliest way possible down the next corridor even if there are people in it.â He didnât want to give her a bad dare. Not in her state. And dancing seemed harmless enough. And maybe that would distract her from the fact he was trying to get away from the knight conversation.
