My first short story

Man is found unconscious in his bedroom by his friends James and Katie....

James quickly gains access to his friend’s chest, while Katie is calling 911. They check for a pulse, but there is none.

While help is coming, Katie watches as James delivers a precordial thump to start their friend’s heart.

The paramedics take over from his friends and soon they get a shockable rhythm. James is in a weird state, watching as if the situation had nothing to do with him or his friend, while Katie gasps as his friends’ chest is shocked twice. She’d always had a thing for him and he could be gone...

Will the paramedics save him? What is that thing that James felt? Will Katie get to rest her head on his friend’s chest and hear a beating heart once again? ******************************* (I am not able to post as usual as I did before, but I had a bit of a break and I could get this out :) I hope you enjoy it!!!)
