what’s the craziest, or coolest, thing you ever read/watched for research?
That's a hard one, lol. I can share a couple of random things I now know due to research?
Chloroform doesn't actually work like in the movies.
When dolphins (I think it was dolphins) injure their tails badly, one of the possible causes of death is depression (don't quote me on this, it's been a while so I may have remembered wrong).
Those two days spent on brainwashing, psychological coercion and behavior modification took me down a pretty dark rabbit hole. For example, the USA's attempt at developing brainwashing techniques during the Cold War, which was eventually terminated because all experiments resulted into amnesia or catatonia. Legit one of the most horrific things I've ever researched.
I dove very deeply into mythology from all over the world on sea gods and creatures, and death gods as well, at some point. With some extra focus on the mythology in the British Isles. Pretty cool.
I know more than the average person about the first Icelandic settlements!
Researched genetic diseases and gene expression at some point so I could figure out an explanation for how Second Stage Genes work, or rather how the ''cure'' for it works, since it's literally in the name that it's a genetic thing and there's a reason that genetic diseases can't be cured easily.
Researched the physics behind something moving incredibly fast (like, Mach 3 fast) and how it would impact its environment.
I'm sure I know more but I can't think of any right now, but if I do I'll add to this post. This was surprisingly fun! XD
