Ethan was only slightly caught off guard. It took him a moment, but he regained his balance at the last minute. He grabbed her arm and twisted her around, pinning her to him. “Nice try, Fairchild, but if I were a vampire who wanted to kill you you’d be dead.”

Gabriella smiled as she almost caught him but the expression was wiped off her face as she was suddenly pinned to him. She tugged against his grip, rolling her eyes at his comment. “Okay, okay, you’ve made you’re point. You can let go now.”
