Of course!

I found my current editor through an author friend, but my previous editor I found through TikTok! You can search social media for indie author editors and you should find plenty! I loved her, but she was a bit out of my budget, though I also love my current editor.

I suggest finding someone who offers a sample edit so that you can see if you vibe with their editing style and get a feel for their personality before handing over your whole manuscript.

are you self published? im curious about this process, hoping to write a book this year and absolutely clueless about the steps to take

I am self published! I decided to go the self pub route because of the creative control it gives me, but trad pub is a great option as well!

The process is pretty simple, but the first step is to start writing! In the meantime, be budgeting for an editor and a cover artist (these are must haves in order to get your book as great as it can be)

Amazon makes it so easy to self publish, and getting your book on Kindle Unlimited (free to do btw) will get your book in front of the most readers

Love your enthusiasm, but I’m no longer writing fanfic, I’m publishing my original romance novels. My first two came out last year, I’ve got three books coming out this year, and two planned for next year.

Oh my goodness thank you so much for reaching out with this! I’m still writing, but I have switched to original works, and am putting out romance novels now! Being an indie author is very much like being in the fanfic community, but I do miss this fandom in particular a lot. I’m hoping to incorporate some the plots of these fics into my books one day!

I honestly have no idea, this is the first I’m hearing of that

I hope it isn’t true, but it (sadly) wouldn’t be totally surprising if it was,considering the behavior of most of the men in his position at the time

Fingers crossed it’s just a rumor 🤞
