Forgive me I can't speak straight Forgive me I can't Forgive me it's far too late Choke down the gateway drug Opened the gates, in came the flood, it comes Like a blush of love, it hits me without warning Long nights of getting lost I walk beneath the bridge I don't know I need black suit for tomorrow, I'm in mourning My love you should know The best of me left hours ago so Shove it right into my mouth and let me smolder Fallout and the damage done

It didn’t settle right with Ana that he was going to get in trouble because he wanted to be there for her. Even hearing it made the blonde wince and pull away slightly, messing with the string of lights before her fingers found his scars, lightly running over them. “Surprised you even remembered. Figured you just came over to get away from all that, maybe even try to celebrate the birth of the savior and all that bullshit.” Rhett. Her nose twitched at the name as she committed it to memory in case she needed it later on. “You’re too good to me sometimes Freddie O'Rourke,” she managed a smile and leaned in, kissing his cheek. “Guess this means I won’t be keeping you the entire night though, but that’s okay. I’ll survive somehow.” Sooner or later, as much as Freddie tried keeping her from knowing the truth, it was going to come out and that was either going to get Ana hurt or killed. It would probably depend on the day.
“Jesus wasn’t born in December.” Freddie said simply, “You were.” He caught her hand, pressing a kiss to her palm. She’d pulled away, that meant she was upset, didn’t it? Freddie wasn’t the best with people. He usually avoided them, if he could. “Bullshit, c’mon.” He made a face, glancing over to the clock. Just a few more minutes. How long past midnight could he stay without signing his own death warrant? Would Rhett actually kill him, if he got pissed enough? Freddie didn’t think so, but you could never know with him. “I’ll stay as long as I can.” He conceded, offering her the smallest of smiles, the only one he could muster. “Maybe until you go to bed.”
anaxjacobs:
She was just trying to do things to bring him out of whatever zone he’d locked himself in. It honestly was touch and go with their friendship but she was always there when he needed her, even if it was to just curl up on the couch and sleep for a couple of hours. Ana didn’t know exactly what was going on with him and she didn’t want to pry but she knew it was nothing good. “I know that, but the tree is way too small to put these on, so you get stuck with them. Besides, it kind of makes you look happier even if you’re not smiling.” Ana tilted her head though, looking him over. “Something’s wrong. What is it?”
Freddie wasn’t so much the pensive type as he was the type to lock himself away somewhere in his brain, shutting down, nothing out, nothing in. It helped, most of the time. “I’m gonna get in trouble, that’s all.” He didn’t want to worry her, there was nothing that could be done. If it wasn’t one thing, Rhett could always find another. He twirled the strand of lights around his wrist, the different colours framing his scars, and, admittedly, scabs, God knows Freddie wouldn’t stop that now that he led the life he did, miserable as it was. “I want to be here for your birthday, I’ll deal with... with Rhett, later.” He already knew there would be hell to pay, might as well make it count. It wasn’t as if Rhett didn’t, in all likelihood, know where Freddie was, already. He just prayed Rhett wouldn’t come to collect him; he’d tried hard to keep Ana from knowing the nitty-gritty of his relationship with the vampire.
Ana stared at the pretty bare, tiny, artificial Christmas tree on the top of her kitchen counter and wrinkled her nose at it before spinning around and letting her eyes search for the boy that was hiding out in her tiny studio apartment again. “Well, I told you I would put decorations up so,” the curly haired blonde picked up the Christmas lights that she had plugged in before walking over and sitting in his lap, wrapping the lights loosely around his neck with a smile. “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in here now right?” Despite it being Christmas Eve and fifteen minutes to midnight, ignoring the fact it was her birthday. She didn’t even know if Freddie knew because she’d told him when they both had a little too much vodka after one of Rhett’s “playtime” days with him.
@freddiexorourke
Freddie had tucked his knees up to his chest, sitting on the couch, fussing with the frayed threads on the edge of the hole in his jeans. He’d watched Ana flitting about, putting up decorations that, while he did appreciate them, Freddie wouldn’t have cared if they hadn’t gone up. He was just grateful for the quiet, for the warmth, putting down his legs as she approached him, even managing to smile at her. “I’m not the Christmas tree, y’know.” He mumbled, moving to push his thumb against the worn spot on the sleeve of his sweater, needing to fidget with something. Part of him was nervous of what might happen. Surely, Rhett was back from the museum by now, and he had already threatened to fit Freddie with a dog’s electric collar if he tried to run away again. Was it worth it, to spend some time with Ana on her birthday? He looked up, seeing her smile, slowly forcing himself to meet her eyes. Maybe it was, to see her smile. It triggered something soft in him, something he thought had been snuffed out completely.Â
Who Are You, Really? - Mikky Ekko

Who are you really? And where are you going? I have nothing left to prove Cause I got nothing left to lose See me bare my teeth for you Who are you?

"I'm here for you." "You're not alone." "You will always have me."
fucking bullshit.
when it's 2:30 am and my self-loathing claws its way up my throat and rips itself from my mouth in a silent scream
I am alone.
when the only real thing is the blood running down my arms
I am alone.
you say you are there but you are not.
I am alone.
Kid, get off the ground. Spit your blood, and bare your teeth; go down a savage, go down fighting.
“I have no checkered past
I’ve never been a violent man
Maybe you’ve changed all that
Each scar I carve is in your name
So let suitors come
I can see them off one by one
Open every last artery up
Just for a second of your time
I’m done playing stone, paper, scissors
Gonna grab that stone and bring them all down with it
Steal those scissors and cut some throats
Put pen to the paper and write you a note
I won’t get in line
I will not wait for this
With my bare hands I’d kill
Just for the privilege
Oh, look at the bloodbath
Look at the mess I have made
With my bare hands I’ll kill
Just to be candlelit
With you”
I think this may be my favorite Frightened Rabbit song right now.

Pick it up. Pick it all up and start again. You’ve got a second chance. You could go home, escape it all. It’s just irrelevant.
Perhaps, in some terrible way, love can be like this.
