Twelve Gordon Freemen get thrown into the same universe after the Resonance Cascade and must survive... or is there a more insidious reason they were brought together?

< Since this blog is dead an unlikely to be picked back up, let me reveal a couple of plot points: >
< Green, the Gordon Freeman with powers, is from an alternate universe where he and Gman became close. In the end, for a variety of reasons, they fuse into one being. At first Green has no control over this incredible power and found himself uncontrollably warping through time and space.
From this he learned about the main Gordon Freeman’s trial with eleven other Gordons. He saw it play out where all died but one for no reason other than Gman wanted entertainment.
So he snuck into The Game. He swapped places with a HECU Gordon. Over the coarse of The Game Green slowly gained control of his powers and was able to avoid the future he saw for each Gordon.
In the very end none of them die and are all sent back to their worlds. (But not before showing the world where everyone died.)
There was also a side story of The Set where an AU of all thirteen Gordons were trapped on a fake tv set of a home sitcom where they’re forced to watch The Game. Which was just an excuse to have a modern comfy AU of all of them having to live together and I adored it.
(There’s also the side side story where Green becomes the head of a multiverse hub of Half-Life AUs after all this. My Barney clone from a Barney hivemind AU also works there. Very self indulgent.)
Either way, if you read all this: Thank you.
If you have any idea what I’m talking about in this post: Bless you. You made my life better for one amazing year. My mental illness has gotten the better of me, but I can look back on all the support and wonderful people who sent me asks or added comments in the tags and I don’t feel like it was all for nothing.
Thank you so, so much. Take care of yourselves. >
Snapped did deserve to be killed in self-defense...
Am I still upset? Perhaps.
I still love that though, like, Gordon's grouping in different groups, killing each other. 'Fun'[to me at least-] concept, its also really smart. What else are the 12 of them gonna do???? Fully trust each other????? Pfft.
Thought, if the Gordon's do settle in different groups... which groups does Snapped go into? Like before and after episode I mean. He probably goes with Red after episode, due to Red obviously seeing this as an advantage... maybe?
Also tell [episode]Snapped I got him a snickers.

< i have a very bad habit of writing important info and forgetting that i'm the only one that's seen it lakjdsf let me uh share something i changed my mind on how to present so i totally forgot about it: >
At the start of the game, the twelve Gordon Freemans are left staring at one another. A variety of emotions can be seen on the group’s faces. No one is giving off a particularly hostile attitude, although as the initial shock starts to wear off a couple of their faces are beginning to twist into anger.
But they are all too aware of the one thing on everyone’s mind: “Only three will be set free.” Whether this unknown world they were dropped on kills them, or they kill each other, no one will be returned to their world until there are only three left.
Or so the man in the suit said.
The first to part from the group was an unfortunate soul who seemed afflicted with an energy they had no control over. After doubling over in pain, fearful screams echoing out, they vanished in a flash of arcing green light. It left the remaining 11 standing in shock.
[Green]
After collecting himself enough, the second to leave gave a brief wave goodbye before sprinting at top speed into the unknown.
[Freerun]
Some brief words are exchanged between a few of them. Then the one in the red HEV suit, who had said nothing since the start, turned around and left in a different direction.
[Red]
Some protesting began over there being anyone taking off on their own. As far as they could see, the world they were in was extremely similar to Xen. They could not see past the large, alien-looking flora, or the odd-colored mineral formations that stood taller than the largest of them. And that one was very large.
The smallest of them was panicking and rambling about the situation, until a grating voice shouted over him. Colorful insults were hurled at everyone and everything as the loudest of them made demands, and he immediately found the group turn against him. In a fit he stormed off. Another shrugged at the group, making an offhand comment about not letting anyone else go off alone, and followed after. He suggested they all try to meet back up later, before disappearing in the loud one’s direction.
[Freemind and Doordon]
One of the two who were the only ones without HEV suits, instead wearing an orange jumpsuit, had also stayed out of any conversation and took off in yet another direction. The other who was not in an HEV suit eagerly followed after them, agreeing with the idea that they should all meet up again when they can. Any protest about them leaving was clearly ignored.
[Portal and Coredon]
The one panicking had his growing hysteria calmed slightly when another finally spoke up, saying the remaining five should stick together. No one disagreed, or at least seemed to. A conversation began about where to start, and what their main goal should be. The only thing they could all agree on was that they needed information first and foremost.
The second was that no one should kill anyone. There had to be another way out without playing this sick game.
With that, they picked a direction and started heading into the unknown.
Hey, just briefly wanted to answer your question about 'cw' and 'tw' tags! 'cw' is 'content warning' while 'tw' is 'trigger warning'. They're considered somewhat interchangeable, but I use tw so that way my content doesn't get lumped in with a show on the CW tv network lol.
< BLESS YOU, this is excellent advice. i shall do this from now on. >
“Green” would sometimes see flashes of things. The past? The future? He wasn’t sure. It was disorienting, and it would come without prompt or warning.
“C’mon, get up and run!” The Gordon with the broken glasses grinned down at the Gordon in the Aperture Science jumpsuit.
Every time he tried to get up, the other Gordon would just hit him with the crowbar again. He was pretty sure his leg was broken. With desperation he took another look at his gloves. One of them was busted, so the pair was useless. He didn’t see a way he could escape this.
The smile under the broken glasses slowly began to fade.
“I said get up. Don’t give up already.”
The one standing lifted the blood-encrusted crowbar once again. The one laying prone looked away and braced himself.
Then came an odd smack followed by a familiar voice.
“You checked to see if I was breathing… but it would have been funnier if you had checked my pulse. A missed opportunity!”
Aperture Science’s test subject whipped his head around to look up towards the voice. He saw his attacker’s face had turned pale, eyes wide with abject terror. The arm holding the crowbar had gone rigid, along with the rest of his body.
And he saw Coredon, standing behind him, a death grip on each side of the man’s head. There was his usual smile. There was the bullet hole in his temple. The one thing the Gordon in the jumpsuit had never seen was his friend’s eyes lit up a bright red.
“Don’t-” A strangled, panicked word was all his attacker could get out before there was a sickening snap. He dropped to the ground with a thud, glasses knocked off his face and clattered to the side. His neck was twisted unnaturally.
Gordon couldn’t move. He didn’t even know if he was breathing. Yet his friend in the lab coat stepped over the body like nothing had happened and knelt beside him.
“He certainly did a number on you. I apologize for that taking so long,” he smiled down at his friend with the portal gloves.
With Coredon’s help he was on his feet again. His entire body ached with the beating he had just taken. A couple of test steps showed him something was very wrong with his right leg. He wished he had an H.E.V. suit like the others. A dose of morphine sounded nice right about now.
“I suppose we’ll need to find you a medkit. Shall I carry you?” Coredon asked with an amused smile. The light in his eyes had returned to it’s usual dull blue.
With some effort, Gordon pushed away from Coredon and limped, putting distance between them. He looked back at Coredon. He didn’t even know what to say.
Coredon took a step forward.
“Oh, come now. You’re not upset, are you?” He smiled.
Gordon didn’t move. Coredon held his hands out in a non-threatening gesture.
“He was going to kill you.”
Gordon stared him down.
A moment of silence passed between them. The Gordon in the jumpsuit could see his friend’s eyes shift to a more purple hue. Coredon let his arms drop to his side, and he stood still.
“...I had to kill him. You know that.” The smile had left his face.
The Gordon from Aperture Science said nothing, but his face contorted with anger.
There was another pause of silence between them, as Coredon searched his friend’s face. He wanted his friend to talk to him. He wanted his friend to thank him, or scold him, or anything. Anything other than this silence. Yet he could guess what his friend was thinking, and the other Gordon probably knew that.
“...Would you prefer I had let him kill you?” he genuinely asked.
‘You had the strength to do that?’ Gordon signed, gesturing forcefully at the third Gordon’s body without looking at it. ‘You had the strength to restrain him.’
Coredon said nothing. He knew this was correct.
‘You chose easy revenge. You broke your promise,’ The anger on Gordon’s face shifted more towards the hurt of betrayal.
The man in the lab coat adjusted his clothing, straightening it out and brushing some dirt off. He stalled for time. Perhaps after the other Gordon had calmed down he would be grateful for what he’d done, instead of acting like he’d rather have died, than be saved. After all, the man couldn’t seriously prefer being killed over killing for self defense? That didn’t make sense.
Although, that was why “Coredon” found his other self so interesting. His resolve in his pacifism was fascinating. Could he really have looked his killer in the eyes and said “I want you to live,”?
“You’re hurt. We should tend to your wounds, and then we can talk about this,” Coredon said, the corner of his mouth barely pulled into a smile as he stepped forward.
Gordon, on unsteady feet, took a step back. Coredon hesitated.
“...Even you can see the logic in that. You need help right now. Let me help you. Then you can decide what to do,” he stepped forwards.
Gordon stepped back. Coredon halted his advance. No. There’s no way this was happening.
It wasn’t such a wild concept to see one person kill another directly in front of you and feel threatened. Coredon could understand that. Yet Coredon wasn’t a stranger. He’d been with this particular alternate version of himself from the very start. They had gotten to know each other. They’d kept each other safe. They’d laughed together. They were friends.
“Gordon-” the scientist had a slight warning tone in his voice, but the other man snapped his hand up to his mouth.
‘Shut up.’
Gordon gave one last look at the man in the lab coat. All these other versions of himself... All of them willing to kill each other. It was stupid of him to hope this one would be different. Just naïve.
He turned and limped away, alone.
Coredon knew the man in the jumpsuit wouldn’t want to be followed, after his trust had been broken. He had promised him that he wouldn’t kill anyone. In truth, Coredon’s promise was a lie. However, he chose not to follow him out of respect.
For now. Until he decided what he was going to do about the man with the portal gloves.
How 'protective' is Red of Snapped? Like do you think he'd watch snapped have a mental break down 5 times in two minutes and be like, 'sh!+, yeah I gotta protect this one ig.' ?
OKAY TWO QUESTIONS NOW THAT IM THINKING ABOUT IT.
Does Freemind mess with him? Like try and push Snapped over?? Cross the line a few times?
-S.G Fanboy [i decided to shorten it]
< he is not, lmao. at all. Red goes out of his way to stay away from everyone, so Snap barely sees him... >
< ...except after Snap gets his "episode". Red's pragmatic. >
< as for Freemind, the answer is yes... on The Set. i have yet to figure out how to introduce that >
know you don't have a favorite one but are there any that you tend to like drawing more? or default to drawing more
are there any interactions between different ones that you like most or think about more often?
< i'm glad it's not obvious that it's freemind, and then freemind with doordon :vvv
hopefully i can show you some other favorites soon, though. like coredon and portal(still needs a better nickname). snap and biggordon also.
now realizing i posted the duos i like the most first... >
Idk if you’ve ever been asked this before but who’s your favorite Gordon out of all of them? I’m curious lol
< i do get asked this on occasion, and really truly and honestly i like them all equally;
every single one of them is critical for a completely different reason. whether it be from Doordon being the straightman, Biggordon being a sweetheart, to Don and Snap letting me work through complicated emotions but for entirely different aspects of life. all of them have something important to me.
now there are twelve of them and its hard to remember them all in one go, but i can at least say Red and Doordon tend to be the ones i remember first lmaooo. >
