There are legitimate cases where that the authors misogyny is so strong that it causes the male character to be shipped just because there’s no interesting female characters there (like in mha) but Naruto is definitely…more than that

This man was so obsessed with sasuke that he spent half the manga trying to bring him back they could literally not exist without the other-in the manga it’s even more explicit-Sakura is more chill in her crush on sasuke like Naruto was out here crying throwing up at the thought of sasuke leaving and not only did he forgive him immediately he actually didn’t understand what he was supposed to be mad about. This manga is built off their relationship especially shippuden (a big part of the reason I suspect many don’t like shippuden as much like sasuke goes from a periphery character to a duetarganist). The idea of forgiveness and breaking cycles is made explicit through Naruto and sasuke. Both have been horribly mistreated by the Leaf Village. Naturos obsession with getting sasuke to come home is rooted in a need to himself wanting to stay with the village that may be caused a lot of pain but is also the only home he’s ever known. Sasukes obsession with Naruto conversely is seeing a man whos light has never faded despite it all. His sole reason for getting stronger isn’t just because of revenge but also because he thinks that maybe he too could come into the light if he gets stronger. If kishimoto was a better writer (and was not limited to shounen manga) this would be more explicit but the fact that every generation before has the same Naruto Sakura and sasuke dynamic is not lazy witting (or well not just) but to make a point about the undercurrent of blood and war that has tainted these kids long before they even had a chance. And sasuke is the latest victim of it saved because Naruto refuses to let him drown in it.
