for the moment we don’t have a lot of people to manage the stand so we are asking for your help! if you could help even for a few hours it would be great! the program is already online so look if there is stuff you want to attend before volunteering for a certain schedule!
we have ordered the postcards and have enough button designs but the fanzine is still in the making and it really would be great if you could submit fanfictions and/or drawings because it’s looking a little light! (note that this year there will only be an enlish version due to time contraints). don’t hesitate to submit things even if your not “officially” part of the frenchlockians!
Les Frenchlockians seront présents à la Japan Expo 2014 du 2 au 6 Juillet!

Don’t hesitate to come and talk to us about fandoms!
Hello hello dear friends of the internet, corps-exquis speaking!
So as you may or may not know already we're gonna have a stand at the Japan Expo for the second time! J is taking care of the organization this time (and fuck do I know it's a shit ton of work but they're doing great and everything is on track.
Currently we have a stand, we have content, we even have a lot of stuff from last year, but the big problem is we're getting very short on money. We didn't get a lot of donations this year and used the money to buy the stand and administration related stuff, but we're now about 100 euros short to pay for printings, badges and other little things like that. So if we wanna be able to print new things and sell badges and basically be able to make benefits, we really really need contributions right now. I know many of you guys don't have a lot of money but even euros can help. (and as you know it may take a while for you to get your money back (sorry I suck) but you all got paid eventually with interests so you'll probably win money in the long term).
J is in London for the moment so contact me (through tumblr, facebook or via texts) if you want to help us.
Thanks in advance for your support, we really hope this year at the comic con will be as great as last year.
hey its is j again! japan expo is coming now that we do have a stand we still need:
more money to print things!!! only part of the people who said they would participate financially did! remember that the more we have the more we’ll be able to offer cool stuff!
illustrations and design for buttons, postcards, bookmarks and eventually a fanzine like last year!!! for the last one we would also need fanfictions!
as before, we have a dropbox in which we collect all of the artworks/writings so send me your email if you want to be on it! any questions and money donations are going through me so contact me for all of the above
so! in reaction to the poll it has been decide that we will be a part of japan expo 2014!
now for the people who said they were going to participate
the most urgent thing is the money: we have to send the application before the 31th march so please contact me with the amount you will pay and how you will transmit it to me
start working on artwork/sending them to me! we will do this thing via dropbox so you are not on it from last year send me your email!
tell me when are you avalaible for managing the stand!!!
we are not sure if we’ll be there at the japan expo since there is no comic con this year and we mostly do tv shows-related stuff BUT it was a great experience last year and we did very well, and i believe that lots of people coming to the japan expo will still be interested in that stuff
so : do you still want to participate, and are you willing to give time, artworks and mostly money to help us?
we have a very important modification to bring to Saturday's meet-up : we won't be able to hold the main meet-up at the usual place, so forget Jussieu
unless you have a better idea (in which case you're absolutely invited to leave a suggestion), we decided that it will take place at the Galway pub
it's a nice place with a first floor where the Cercle Holmésien usually holds its meetings, it's also not too far from Luxembourg where the morning meet-up takes place, and hopefully it won't be crowded since it will be 2 p.m
apart from that, nothing has changed, all the other informations are still here
really sorry this had to be so last minute. please like this post or let me know in any way that you've received this information, thanks and see you soon!
I'm bringing you all the informations about the Frenchlockian anniversary!
1) the general infos are in this post already
but just a reminder :
- around 10a.m : morning meet-up at Luxembourg
- 14p.m : main meet-up at the Pomme de Pain
*EDIT : THE MAIN MEET-UP WON'T BE AT THE POMME DE PAIN, BUT AT THE GALWAY INSTEAD
- starting around 8:30pm or something : party at J-Élo-Margot-Kenza's place
2) I need to have an approximative idea of how many people there will be, who we're waiting for, etc., okay, so please reply to this post/send me an ask/send me a FB message/text me if you haven't already
on top of that, please tell me if you need the address/itinerary to go to the party (I already gave it to a lot of you for the Christmas party, so hopefully most of you still have it). I assume we'll all mostly go together as a group, but you never know. it'll just take a second for me to send it to you, and might help us avoid complications.
3) also, if there are any complications for you (you have to arrive earlier or later than everyone else, you've never come to a meet-up before, you don't know Paris well and you need indications ... ), I'm always available to help you out. my personal blog is here, and I can give you my cell number
4) we'll need food and drinks (especially food, we've noticed it disappears much faster than alcohol ... surprinsingly), and disposable glasses, plates and cutlery for the evening. you can bring anything you want. we'll probably all pass by Carrefour or Franprix on the way over.
5) which reminds me : bring some money. not only to buy stuff for the party, but also because we'll have to take the subway and the bus in the evening, the flat is a little bit outside of Paris.
this won't be a problem for the people who have a Navigo pass, obviously.
6) if you want to get some sleep during the night (and if it's not too heavy), you might want to bring a sleeping bag of some sort. there is a lot of space at the flat, but not an unlimited amount of beds or pillows.
7) a very important thing : J, Élo, Margot and Kenza have been kind enough to welcome all of our recent parties at their flat. so, contrary to all those previous times, it'd be nice of us to leave their place the exact same way we've found it. that means trying not to spill alcohol all over the place, and cleaning everything in the morning. let us not be assholes.
8) you're very much welcome to : come all dressed up, bring your laptop, bring decorations, bring a camera, bring a playlist, bring games ... anything you want!
According to the survey held this past week, it has been decided that our anniversary will take place on February, the 8th (a Saturday).
This is a first post to give you the general informations. Another one will soon follow with all the details. Basically :
- as always, there will be a first meet-up on the morning in front of Luxembourg, which you can find here. I should be there around 10 a.m, and will wait for 30 to 40 minutes for y'all to arrive (then we'll probably head off to McDonald's)
- at 2p.m there will be the main meet-up, at our dear Pomme de Pain
- then in the evening/night will take place the ~party, at J-Élo-Margot-Kenza's place.
***
For the moment, please tell me if you intend to be there at the morning meet-up and/or the main meet-up and/or the party (by replying to this post, sending me an ask, sending me a message on Facebook, texting me, etc. I don't care). Also tell me if you have to arrive earlier or later than everyone else at any of these.
In any case, please contact me if you have any question. I can give you my number if it's needed.
So as you may or may not know, the second anniversary of the frenchlockians is coming soon! (guys it's almost been two fucking years what the fuck)
The exact date is the 4th of February but that'll be a Tuesday and we plan on celebrating it on a Saturday.
They are therefore two possible dates for the meet up : the 1st of February or the 8th. Please vote for the date you prefer here so we can decide on the date as soon as possible!
A quick reminder : Paris Manga will be taking place on the 8th and 9th of February. Take this in consideration when voting!
We'll make another post with more information once the date is settled, but we'll probably do something similar to last year (which was a pretty much perfect anniversary..; aaaah the memories!) : meet up at the Pomme de Pain in the afternoon followed by a night of partying and geeking at our flat!
(i think this image sums it up quite nicely)
We started talking about the possibility of doing something special like a laser tag but quickly realized it'd be complicated for people coming from outside of Paris and people who don't wanna spend too much money in general. Still, what do you guys think of the idea? Would you like doing it sometimes in March for example?
Please vote quickly so we can set up the date! I can't wait to see you guys again for what will be a fucking awesome anniversary!!!
So here's what's what when it comes to the Christmas party.
It will take place on Saturday, the 21st, at J-Margot-Élo-Kenza's place. I won't publish their address on the Internet, so I will send it to everyone privately. EVERYONE PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE (on this blog, on my personal blog, or on Facebook if we're friends) ASKING FOR IT IF YOU INTEND TO COME TO THE PARTY. I cannot stress this enough. It doesn't bother me explaining the itinerary to people, I'd rather do it now than at midnight on the 20th.
The party will start at 7pm, and end whenever you're awake the next morning.
Stuff to bring :
- Your beautiful faces
- Your beautiful Christmas outfits if you have those
- Your Secret Santa presents if you participated, and all personal presents you might have for other people
- Food
- All the food
- Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Plastic cups and cutlery, paper plates
- Sleeping bags / pillows if you'd like to sleep at some point
- Mistletoe to get your kissing on, yo
- A camera if you want to immortalize the evening, all the Christmassy shit you can think of (music, decorations, games, etc), your laptop ...
***
If you want to arrive a bit early to get ready / install decorations / cook something in particular / anything, you are welcome to. Just warn me in advance.
Also, keep in mind that if you can't come to this party (although I hope most of you will be able to), there will still be a New Year's Eve thing, possibly taking place at this flat too. :)
If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer you.
Just to keep you updated : so far I've had 19 answers on the Christmas party survey, and Saturday 21st is ahead. Voting has not ended yet (so please vote if you haven't already!), but it seems like it's going to be the official date.
I hope that it accommodates most people? I've noted that a lot of you have obligations and I apologize if you can't make it. However, we'll have some going out and partying going on on New Year's Eve, I'm sure. :)
We shall have a Christmas party, it shall take place at J-Margot-Élo (& Kenza) 's place, and for the moment I just need y'all to answer a >>survey<< about the date of the party.
When I have enough answers, I'll start planning, and I'll keep you updated on the things. Prepare your fancy clothes and mistetloe!
Track the tag #xmas frenchlockanza 2013 for upcoming infos.
Hey! Sadly, I live in Provence and I probably won't be able to make it to the next meet-up :( But I was wondering if maybe you could put a post up asking if there are any Sherlockians in the Marseille area willing to meet-up? I was thinking about maybe making an event :) Thank you!
Hey there!
Sorry for taking suuuch a long time to answer you but I have been very busy with life lately.
So, signal boost! If you live in Provence or around Marseille please contact this lovely person =)
Since we're talking about meet up, I wanted to organize one for the end of September but as you can see, it didn't happen... Very sorry about that... So I'll try to organize one for October or November; In the meantime, we'll still be meeting regularly at the Jussieu Pomme de Pain so join us if you want to! (mainly Friday and Saturday afternoon).
