the downsides of being sick are obvious. the upsides are my date ringing me at night to have dinner together, read to me for an hour or two and just be there until i fall asleep.

it is such a strange yet wonderful experience to feel the person i am dating helping me gain trust in moments that usually are incredibly anxiety-inducing. it is equally reassuring to be able to do the same for them. my heart is overflowing.

another 6 hours of driving yesterday and a job interview later, i have a big old cold. so don't think i am driving another 5 hours for a wedding tomorrow. let me sleep off my cold for two days before i drive 9 hours to the next appointment on saturday sunday night .

Good morning folks, I have a big glass of water, my laptop is on and my notes are everywhere. Today's method to defeat the writer's block is to work one hour straight, just writing no deleating and starting all over again. I will report back in an hour with news on how it works out.

i seriously am shocked that i managed the 9 hours in the car yesterday. it seems my body decided to give me some respite but in return punishes me today. absolutely tired and anxious on top of it all. i have no clue how i am going to take the tests tonight. barely left the house except for walks with the dog.

did my placement tests — the oral exam was humbling but i sailed through the written ones. couldn't believe it myself.

the dog stayed by herself in the holiday house and behaved excellently.

there is a river and woods a hundred metres from the house for long and restorative walks before the sun burns too hot.

the dogs here are exceptionally well behaved and the people very kind. i couldn't ask for a more reassuring city experience for the dog.

i haven't vomited in eight hours, i have had solid food, a half an hour nap and about three litres of water.

since i am sick, my date recorded chapters of the book we're reading for me to listen to. god, am i in love.

yeah guess who's got a uti a day before driving the car for at least 9 hours. haven't finished with my work to-do list, haven't packed my suitcase for the month abroad, haven't a clue what happens once i arrive just some. vague idea of a weekend of standardised tests while i worry my dog might be homesick. it's all just chaotic, stressful and painful.
