“Wheeler & Wilson’s High-Arm New Number Nine is the only perfect sewing machine for family use"—what that has to do with a tightrope-walking frog juggling swords and balls is beyond me. Late 19th century (via)
If you pay attention to your body, or where your body, the body that you are, empties, you’ll notice a kind of vibration, a leaping and dancing connectivity. Ebullience. The body scintillates a phosphorescence and vibration, anticipates and senses, is sensible in turn. You are grasped as you grasp, the lines are blurred—the previous distinctions between the self and the world are darkened, an adiaphonous zone is indistinguishably opened. You exceed yourself, and the world exceeds you; it’s beautiful.
In this vertigo, don’t worry. Try not to instantiate the self quite yet, do violence to the fluidity, cut the flux or look for where you are. Instead, find your breath; find the transitive. Everything is okay. Everything moves, and if you try to hold on, you’ll strangle. Desire desires—it doesn’t quite care about subjects and objects, but subjects and objects are threatened by the impersonal potency that is desire. Desire desires, desires itself, is full of itself, creates itself out of itself and never ends. You are desire, desire is more than you. We say “I” and we can keep saying it. The point, as it has been said before, isn’t to refuse saying “I”, but in achieving moments where it no longer matters if we say “I” or not. The self is paucity, desire is fullness. Desire is intensive incandescence, juncture and commonality. It runs through everything, produces it all, is joy and bliss.
in line with my current research…

“You don’t measure love in time. You measure love in transformation. Sometimes the longest connections yield very little growth, while the briefest of encounters change everything. The heart doesn’t wear a watch - it’s timeless. It doesn’t care how long you know someone. It doesn’t care if you had a 40 year anniversary if there is no juice in the connection. What the heart cares about is resonance. Resonance that opens it, resonance that enlivens it, resonance that calls it home. And when it finds it, the transformation begins…”

Vibrantly Hued Canvas Sculptures by Artist Duo ‘Stallman’
Meticulously folding canvas and layering color, the art duo Stallman (Jason Hallman and Stephen Stum) turn a traditional painting surface on its head, using the structure of the canvas to give their works vibrant depth. The two artists are deeply inspired by gradients found in the natural world, their color selection and positioning appearing almost topographic. The Pacific Northwest based pair calls this body of work “Canvas on Edge,” giving canvas the leading roll within each each piece. By positioning the medium outward its curved shapes become all about depth and form and serve as large, elevated line drawings.
Hallman and Stum (the two combined their names to create their artist title) are both partners in the studio and life. “We create together, one acting as the right side of the brain and the other the left,” says Stallman. “This union of dynamic minds dissolves the boundaries of what is possible turning the ordinary into extraordinary.”The duo currently has an exhibition of new works at Hall | Spassov Gallery that continues until September 30, 2015. You can see more sculptures on their Facebook page here. Thanks Colossal
