I re-watched device theory recently and it made me remember that the_n3w3st_g1rl_g1rl existed and I dont remember if there was ever a community consciousness on it so i might as well share mine (which i probably heard from someone else that I just don't remember)

Long story short I think the answer is "you're crying" for 2 main reasons

1. It would explain susies reaction and add to her character (especially with what we learn in chapter 4)

2. Noelle says kris's mouth barley moved and saying you're crying takes little to none movement of the mouth imo

I will now write fanfic on what I think was going through susies head

Be susie, you've just recently moved to a new town and as usual everyone's avoiding you, your parents are either not in the picture or so neglectful that they might as well not be. Your first few days in town a kind person actually talks to you, is actually nice to you, you learn their a mother to a human of all things and you start observing them out of curiosity only to find out that they are just like you, keeping to themselves, pushing others away, always putting on an act, and it frustrates you to no end why do they have the audacity to act like this when they have food, shelter, and a loving family. You decide to antagonize them but they never react sometimes they even pull one over on you. your reaching a boiling point, these emotions that have been bottled up for god knows how long come to the surface. "Someone might make you disappear" you dont even know if you're talking to them anymore, your visions going blurry "and she'll finally realize how happy she was without you." You can barely see in front of you, its almost an out of body experience from the anger and sadness rushing out all at once. but just the faintest, barely audible, "you're crying" anchors you back to reality shit you think, when did I start... but that doesn't matter if anyone else sees the "big bad susie" the "school deliquent that will shove you into lockers for looking at her wrong" crying? It'll all be over no one will ever take you seriously again or worse they might hurt you again. So you run away without another word.

Maybe i just need to do a re read to really absorb all of the story but is there a reason everyone thinks theres another Silverwood tree lingering about? Well I do think Silverwood will be a part of the story for a long time i think introducing another host hidden somewhere in the cast (especially one of the 4 girls) just wouldn't be satisfying or needed

To me it would kinda just be adding on tension for no benefit, and would lessen the impact of the trees we have, only having the 3 confirmed trees (counting the one in Nolnoas shop) keeps the mysterious vibe of them.

Its like death in dragon ball after so many wishes to revive with different dragon balls and even just straight up time travel to remove consciousness death loses all weight in that story. witch hat, in comparison, is in a special balance rn where the mystery and threat of the Silverwood tree are equal and just adding more would tip the scales to far in one direction.

We were induced with how disastrous it can be with custas and given a direct link to that potential tragedy in qifrey giving coco a reason to (presumably) search for a treatment no one else could, then like something something they deem it forbidden and big plot shake up

But if more and more of the cast turn out to be hosts the idea that "no one understands them" falls apart faster and faster, the more they pop up, the less likely to seems to a reader that they just "dont know anything" about it

But im not a writer, even less of a critic, I just like yapping into the void about things I like. I think I comes from the 10+ years of FNAF and UTDR Fandom

Because of the danganronpa 2x2 announcement I've been put into a danganronpa mood so I finally got around to playing Project: Edens Garden and oh my is chapter 1 so good, it feels just like trigger happy havoc in both esthetic and writing

Its only 1 chapter, and I'll probably not live to see all 5 chapters with the current release windows, but I highly recommend it

Half of 2.xs playtime is just the characters going "we've known each other for about 3 minutes i am now contractually obligated to exposition dump my backstory, motivations, and story of this chapter for 10 straight minutes when most of this could just be a individual character story"

Maybe im just a bit slow but this new episode made me have a epiphany on the silverwood

Late game Manga spoilers so im gonna line break

Silverwood tress are parasitic in nature, feeding off living creatures to grow and the processes of making conjuring ink is to remove the "blood" of the tree, and we see the brim hat iguin pour ink directly from his finger.

Either iguin is a Silverwood host themselves and thats why they can do that or the reason magic has such destructive potential is because they need human blood, human lives, to even use the most basic or fun spells

Most posts I see theorizing about the future of the story are speculating who might be the next Silverwood host but if this idea is true if coco, whos infantilation with magic is already waning as it is, find this out it would absolutely break her and anyone else who finds out (assuming this isnt another well known secret)

The brim hats dont want to bring coco harm or extreme distress i dont think they'd go as far to implant a Silverwood into someone, they just want to have coco come over to their side and dropping a bomb like that might just push her over the edge in a way effectively killing her or her friends with a Silverwood tree would not

Ive absorbed so much UTDR content over these last 10 years that it kinda jumbles up in my brain, contradictory ideas both being equally believed, I think having it on paper (or text post) would do me good
