We visited the famous Alishan for the first time. We did not get to see the sunrise or sea of clouds that many come here for. Instead we took a hike in the mist filled Alishan forest and rode on the Alishan mountain train. There were many tea farms and we visited a small family run tea plantation. Taiwan is truly beautiful, we can’t wait to explore more. Rainbow village Taichung - a former residential area for soldiers, was saved from being demolished by the government after a 95 year old grandpa painted and decorated it with colourful murals. Rainbow grandpa still wakes up at 3am every morning to paint. His will and determination to save his home have turned this village into an international attraction visited by millions of tourists every year.
