So uh this was born from angst about Wyrdwood final season happening and I'm so scared, more than I ever have been about an Oxventure finale. Wyrdwood has resonated with me on some kind of crazy level. I'm a little not normal about it. 🙈

Idk if I like how this art came out or not. I just wanted to experiment with animal symbolism and loose mixed media vibes. Never know what to say for myself when I draw something like this.

Mostly inspired by the song "Harpy Hare" by Yaelokre (that's where the "She can't keep them all safe" line comes from). If you want a soundtrack for this piece I also listened to "Mama" by Unloved and "I Bet on Losing Dogs" by Mitski while working on it and I think those had an influence as well. A good spread of songs to sum up my emotional state oof lmao

To be clear it's: Happen - cat Robin - dog Morven - wolf Cressida - jackdaw Lug - aurochs (the weirdest choice here but an extinct animal felt correct to me. I almost gave him megaloceros but aurochs felt like it fit in better with the others. Bovid vs cervid Lug was an interesting debate to be having with myself though and I still don't know where I stand.)

Anyone reading this feel free to tell me what your choice of animals would be because I find people's different opinions on this stuff so interesting.

Hello yes um have some oxventure art apropos of nothing. Wyrdwood broke something in me and I have not recovered since.

I tried to do some fan art months ago but got hard stuck because it turns out Robin is really frustrating to draw? For some reason? I tried to draw his official design and couldn't pull it off in my style. I tried to draw how I picture him in my head but didn't like that either? What I have here is some amalgamation of the two. Idk I'm still not confident about it.

Anyway these are some drawings from a Robin/Morven doodle sheet I had going while I was trying to work through my struggle session. I had more I was going to render, but at this point I'm tired and I just want to post what I have done *cries*

When I heard a noise downstairs, I put my hand under my bed for my creepy ass guy to lick, to confort me. Feeling brave and confident, I went downstairs to investigate. I saw my creepy man dead, head accidentally smacked against kitchen counter... I felt a chill go down my spine... Behind me.. A dog.
