He shouldn’t have come here. With every passing second, Hakuryuu became more and more aware of that fact, and he cannot stop to ask himself just why he hadn’t listened to that gut feeling of his. It’s frustrating, and the more Hakuryuu thinks about it, the worse it gets.

If he wouldn’t have come here, he wouldn’t have to deal with this situation.

If he wouldn’t have come here, he would be able to be alone for at least some time and think.

If he wouldn’t have come here, he would have not runned into his former friend much earlier than he was supposed to.

But, that is not even the worst. Oh no. It’s far from it.

Blue eyes widen, and the prince actually flinches visibly, body turning completely stiff immediately after. And for a moment he thinks he’s misheard what Alibaba had said, but Hakuryuu knows that he has not, and that makes it even harder to believe.

He… He felt fine after doing what?

The surprise is visible on his features, and Hakuryuu wouldn’t be able to hide it even if he tried. It’s not like he actually cares right now though, he’s too busy trying to make sense of what the blond had just said.

Where did Alibaba get that information from? And from whom? When?

No, this- This was wrong. “I-…?”

This wasn’t how things were.

“What…?” He tries to sound composed, but honestly, he sounds more confused than anything else. And that wasn’t a lie.

It takes Hakuryuu some time to catch himself again, but once he does, a frown replaces his previous expression, though the surprise and confusion are still very much present and visible. “What are you talking about…?!”

Suddenly, staying and having a talk with the other didn’t seem like such a bad idea anymore.

Hakuryuu's response dragged Alibaba out of his prior emotional mess and got him confused in a completely different manner. His head snapped up and the prince's expression spoke of honesty, while Alibaba's only spoke of confusion.

Carefully he spoke up as he wanted to clear this up. "You... didn't...?" But... They had received the message from Kou's army... A confused gaze was given in return and for a moment he didn't know how much to say. But how much can go wrong with telling him? They were still friends after all... right? They... were. He cared about him all this time. Every time he would hear something about Hakuryuu, he would listen intrigued. So it would only be fair to clear out things. It needed to be done.

"Kouen's army delivered the message... when we were at the summit..." Where he was wondering why Hakuryuu didn't appear anyway, but he didn't want to speak about that right now. "Suddenly Judal appeared, and..."

Suddenly Alibaba felt totally insecure as he remembered all the happenings. It had all been real - the depart would be the other day. He had promised Kouen to go with him. But Hakuryuu... knew nothing about it...? Something was fishy about this and it stressed him out, interrupting himself in his own explanation.

"This is no time to be kidding, Hakuryuu." Everything just lead to the explanation that something about the other was just wrong.

… Really now? That was it?

Honestly?

That was all Alibaba had to say?

Blue eyes blinked a few times, nothing but silence present as Hakuryuu merely looks at the other with a frown on his features. He assumes that he should be glad though, that he should be thankful that this ‘conversation’ isn’t starting with some yelling or screaming, and that Alibaba isn’t immediately bringing up certain things or starting to ramble about god knows what.

Because, somehow, Hakuryuu has fully expected him to do just that.

But he guesses it’s a good thing, he guesses that this is much, much better than if this had started the same way their last conversation had ended.

And yet, the other’s question just pisses him off.

The corner of his mouth twitches before Hakuryuu opens it to speak, although it takes a moment for his voice to actually come out. This whole situation was so bizzare and stupid that he was starting to feel ridiculous.

He hated that, too.

"… Really?” There is disbelief in his voice and expression, and for a moment, the thought of just turning around and leaving actually manages to come to Hakuryuu’s mind once more. But he ignores it, he tries to ignore the mess that is his head right now.

"That’s… That’s it?" In all honesty, Hakuryuu was more thinking out loud than actually talking to Alibaba right now, but he didn’t cared that the other heard him. Should he think about that whatever he wanted. It wasn’t important, anyway.

Hakuryuu couldn’t care less.

"First you just… Do this, and then all you-” A pause follows, in which the prince closes his eyes, lifting up his hands and clenching his fists as he takes a deep breath.

He really didn’t understood the blond at all.

Slowly, he opens his hands again, though he doesn’t lower them completely. Blue eyes look straight into golden ones, and Hakuryuu cannot help but wonder why Alibaba is looking at him like that. But did it really matter? He had already ignored the fact that the other was stepping away from him, so why was he suddenly paying attention to this?

How irritating.

Eventually, Hakuryuu decides to speak again, to actually answer the other’s question, just to get it over with. Though his voice sounds more calm than it did before, even if it was just slightly. “….. I am doing fine.” he says, now lowering his arms completely again. But, ah, it’s a lie.

A lie which Hakuryuu himself was convinced to be the truth.

"What are you doing here, anyway?”

As far as he knew, there was some sort of summit supposed to be happening right now. Wasn’t Alibaba supposed to be there with Kouen? On one hand, Hakuryuu honestly did not care about why Alibaba was here now, while on the other, he actually was kind of curious about it, as contradictory as it was.

But, he figures, asking wouldn’t hurt.

And if it was just to distract himself from the mess in his mind.

It didn't surprise Alibaba that Hakuryuu didn't greet him with open arms after how they had dispersed. But somehow it also saddened him that he apparently had recognized him earlier, but didn't say a single word. Neither did he walk away.

Instead, muttered words was all that was given as a response. Alibaba was confused, blinked at the prince. Something seemed off and he couldn't make much out of Hakuryuu's words. He was thinking about what to say, what to do, but the fear still made it struggling.

So a short silence took place. It was burdening Alibaba with guilt, his hands balled to fists and shoulders tensed. But short before he decided to break the silence, Hakuryuu already spoke up again. But with an obvious lie. It irritated Alibaba that he wanted to shove him off like that. As if he was dumb or something.

Sure, he didn't know what Alibaba knew. But still... that is as much as he would entrust to him? It was disappointing. And the other's question just stung as well. He didn't like the tone of it. As if he didn't wish his presence.

The irritation mixed with his fear were building up to no good. He rememebred the smiling Hakuryuu, his good old friend, who he fought with, who had fun times with... but this mirrored nothing of it.

Without giving him a single look, Alibaba figured to reply anyway, even if it might not be to Hakuryuu's question. "So, you are doing fine after killing your mother? Is it that that you want to tell me?" With teary eyes he closed the distance between them once more and looked him straight into his face. "You can't be serious! Hakuryuu, I..." His words got stuck in his throat and he stepped back while he swallowed his own tears, trying to recollect himself.

"What are you planning? Why all of this? Tell me!" He was sure that the prince would just talk around it again, but he wanted to know. He had made himself an enemy of so many people, caused an internal conflict in the Kou Empire, practically... a war. What for?

The urge to punch himself in the face suddenly became extremely strong.

Hakuryuu notices the blond staring at him, and his first thought is that he’s noticed, oh god he’s noticed, he knows it’s him.

Something in his mind screams ‘Leave!’ the second he hears his name fall.

Maybe if he stayed calm, he could still get out of this. Maybe, if he just didn’t react, if he just left right now, the other would leave him alone. Maybe, just maybe, Hakuryuu could still manage to get away and avoid a confrontation. as long as he kept himself calm and collected, and reacted fast.

Sadly, he does anything but that.

He takes in a sharp breath at the sound of his name, and almost immediately, one of his hands comes up to clench his coat, in an attempt to hide himself more. He turns his head away too, trying to keep his face out of the other’s view, all of which probably just make him seem so much more suspicious.

And Hakuryuu makes another mistake, and all he can do is ask himself why this was happening, why now, why here, why to him.

"… I-" No, no. Stop, don’t. Don’t speak, don’t make it any more obvious, don’t give him a chance to pin you down. Just leave, leave, just get away and leave.

So it was really him. Hakuryuu.... who he hadn't seen for years, and now, after that terrible message that they received from the Kou Empire, he stood right at his side. It was... too strange to think of. This must have been another one of those dreams. But a more dark one... probably because of the message...

Come on, wake up, wake up, wake up! He kept telling it himself in his head as he tried to deny the reality. Which was - Hakuryuu was right here. He stepped backwards while facing the ground. All the time he wanted to talk to him. He was worried, that he might turn out like Kassim. There was not much time to worry about it, but whenever his name fell, he had hoped to hear something positive.

Yet now that he was standing in front of the reality, Hakuryuu who had killed his own mother, the witch of the Kou Empire... suddenly Alibaba didn't want to talk to him anymore. He was scared. Gladly no one else was around - or maybe he would have liked to have Morgiana or Aladdin around right now.

But he had to do this on his own now. As soon as Hakuryuu spoke towards him, his head snapped up. He couldn't see his face clearly all this time, it was simply too dark. But he could hear in his voice that he was stressed. Then he could also see how worn out his eyes seemed to be. Somehow... they reminded him even more of Kassim now and that was the moment when he shook his head and created an even bigger distance between them.

He had to focus back on Hakuryuu.

"Hakuryuu...-" Completely wet, he stood there, staring at the other with worried, but also frightened eyes. "How.... how are you doing?" There was incertainty shining through his voice. He knew exactly how he must have felt. The situation wouldn't suppose any other possibility. But he wanted to hear it from Hakuryuu himself.

The sudden contact surprises the prince, though he finds himself too focused on his own thoughts to actually care. So all he does is give a slight shrug, wanting to speak and tell the other that it’s fine, that there is nothing to worry about.

But the moment their voice meets his ears Hakuryuu finds his whole body freezing in place, his eyes widening slightly as no words leave him.

No.

That was… impossible. No, no! Not here, not now. This- This wasn’t supposed to happen! He wasn’t supposed to be here! So why? Why?!

Why was Alibaba here?!

Please, no.

For a moment Hakuryuu merely continues to sit there, starring into space and not moving a single inch. His first instinct was to run, to get out of here as fast as he could. And since the other didn’t seem to have recognized him yet, this could might as well work.

Without a second thought his hand moves, ready to grab his weapon.

Only for his movements to come to an abrupt halt at the sound of a splash behind him.

Wait, what?

"Wha-?" Blue eyes blinked in confusion before Hakuryuu turned around, a rather… dumbfounded expression on his face.

And the sign he was greeted with didn’t really made it any better.

"…"

Alright, that… That was… Uhm.

What the hell just happened?

Having completely forgotten the situation he was in for a moment do to sheer confusion, Hakuryuu simply starred at the blond with a confused and somewhat concerned look on his face, somehow finding himself unable to believe that this had really just happened. Although he probably should have used this chance to get away, but alas, that thought doesn’t cross his mind right now.

In fact, he is so baffled by the whole scenario that he doesn’t even notices how he accidentally mutters “Are you serious…?” out loud.

Congratulations, Alibaba.

You got him there.

Alibaba looked at the stranger who had moved upon his accident. He had expected the other to just leave, that he didn't want to bother with him, especially after he didn't say anything, but the contrary was the case. The opening of the hood was faced towards him, so the other person was probably staring at him. But Alibaba avoided the gaze and just looked pissed to the bottom.

However, for a mere moment he thought to have heard Hakuryuu's voice. His head snapped up and of course his first suspicious was the hooded figure.

No... that couldn't be. Hakuryuu killed his mother, there's no way he'd come near here. I am already imagining things.... Confused he kept staring at the stranger for a little longer. "Haku... Hakuryuu?"

The more he thought about the possibility, the more emotions began to crawl up. They urged him to get out of the fountain into the cold weather, stepping closer to the stranger. He was careful with every step, fearing that it might really be true. But he wanted to know. He really wanted to know if it was him.

Whether the other stepped back or even attempted to run away, he didn't care. He would catch up to him and attempt to pull down the hood. If he would see Hakuryuu's face, it would come to a shocking revelation for Alibaba.

He figures that maybe, leaving had not been a very good idea. Not that it had been an advisable thing to do in the first place, and to be honest, Hakuryuu was actually quite aware of that fact. Yet, he’d done it, and while a part of him was starting to regret his choice and kept asking himself why he would do something so idiotic, the other was incredibly thankful for the peace and quiet he was able to get this way.

A sigh escaped the prince as he looked around, hands folded in his lap. Where exactly he was, Hakuryuu didn’t know, though he clearly wasn’t within the Kou Empire anymore. All he knew was that he was in some sort of small town, though it wasn’t like it actually mattered much to him. The only thing he had wanted was to get away, at least for a short while, and it had worked out.

Just for a while, he wanted to be alone, away from everything and everyone. And the reason as of why was frustrating the boy beyond belief.

It was amazing and irritating what a small and simple dream could do to him.

His hands reached up to pull the hood of the cloak he was wearing further down over his face, a chill running down his spine. It was late, not to mention cold, and the fact that Hakuryuu was tired as well did not help the situation. Nevertheless, the prince continued to sit on the edge of the fountain, his weapon beside him, not really paying attention to what was going on around him.

Not that much was happening at this time of the night in the first place.

He should probably go back, but he didn’t wanted to. Not yet.

Just a bit more time to think in peace, just a bit more time to clear his thoughts.

That was all he wanted.

Hakuryuu didn’t even notice that someone he knew was may or may not nearby.

There was a lot on Alibaba's mind. Many new impressions flooded his mind through Aladdin showing them the story of Alma Toran. Although he was certain to help his friend, he also wanted to help his country, and not in a way like certain other princes are dealing with it. Morgiana offered him to talk about his troubles, but he chickened out for a moment and wanted to free his mind for a second, to think about it properly for himself.

Thankfully it was a clear night, and everything around him seemed so peaceful, as if nothing happened. Everyone was going on with their usual lives. Alibaba looked through the streets, gazed into the sky and took in the calm breeze with a deep breath, as it also gently stroke his skin.

After that he decided to sit down on a fountain nearby. It was dark, so he couldn't see the edges clearly. He tried to feel a place where he could sit, and so it happened that he bumped into a person who had had the same idea. It startled him, as if he had just seen a ghost. "A-Ah-! Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude." He spoke with a smile on and his hands folded in front of him.

Then he decided to just sit down nearby without checking, and fell back first into the fountain, resulting into a splash. Alibaba was embarassed and not amused about what just happened. Thankfully it wasn't deep, and he didn't think of just stepping out into the cold weather. With his head sticking out, he shook it, sighed and then decided to stay like this for a little while.

Indeed he had wandered far by now and the further he had gotten, the less of the usual amount of races from his home he had seen. Though therefore the Hyur had gotten more here again, not making him feel that much out of place anymore.

"Well where I come from, the miqo’te make quite a lot of the population. So… I’m just too used to seeing my kind."

Alibaba had to smile, because it just seemed too familiar. They didn't seem to be that different from each other. Although the word - Mikote? - made him stumble in his thoughts again, but he assumed that he was talking about another name for his own kind.

"That makes sense. I would love to visit that place of yours. Can you-" That is when he remembered that he couldn't go on adventures right now and the smile on his face disappeared, together with a hand rubbing at the back of his head. ".. Nevermind- what was your name?" When he regained eye contact, he tried to at least force a smile out of politeness.

"Gridania it is then, good Sir.", he replied still wearing that smile he had been having before already, though his expression changed quickly for a moment, "And don’t call me small, yes?"

"Gridania...?" A confused look was given towards him. But upon the last sentence, Alibaba noticed that he hit some spot there and he couldn't help it but giggle a little about that. Well, they were quit with that, but with full of confidence he stretched himself to make himself appear even bigger, with a fist landing on his chest he continued to talk. "My name's Alibaba Saluja, I'm from Balbadd." He left out his title for now, but continued with curiosity.

"I never heard of your country... and I've never seen people like you around..." For a moment he crossed his arms and eyed the other suspiciously. "What are you doing around here?"

Y’weta laughed shortly but curiously eyed the foreign looking boy. Wasn’t he just the right one to ask where he himself was from?

"Where... you usually live." What interest should he have in any other information? It felt a bit as if the other was making fun of him, but he let that aside for now. Otherwise he made a nice appearance and Alibaba was curious. "I usually don't see small cat people roaming around the streets. Especially not... male ones."

團圓 - Reunion

He was a person Hakuryuu had not expected to meet again any time soon.

He was one of the people the prince had tried to avoid, no matter what.

There was no reason for them to see each other again, no reason for them to talk about anything at all. In Hakuryuu’s eyes, anyway.

And yet, here the prince stood, blue eyes fixated on the figure of someone he had once called his ‘friend’.

Why, just why did it have to be Alibaba, of all people, he had to run into at a time like this?

The prince’s posture stiffened just slightly, his grip around his weapon tightening just as much. The blond had his back turned to him. So maybe, he hadn’t noticed him.

Hakuryuu wasn’t going to stand there and wait to find out.

Turning around and away from Alibaba, the boy simply walked off into the opposite direction, moving into and along with a bigger group of people on purpose. The long coat he was wearing proved to be handy, as well as the hood, especially now. At least this way, no one would recognize him as a prince of the Kou Empire, saving Hakuryuu unecessary (and unwanted) attention.

However, even then, maybe leaving, albeit just for a short time, hadn’t been such a good idea after all.

Alibaba was merely talking to a merchant to buy some supplies. But a weird feeling caused him to turn around. He had the feeling of being stared at and the moment he turned around, he saw a hooded figure walking away. Needless to say it seemed suspicious to him. His attention went back to the merchant for a moment to say good bye for now, and he soon began to follow that person.

His feeling told him that it might be someone from Al-Thamen, even someone he might know, so he decided to follow them around. It was soon apparent that they weren't willing to stop somewhere soon, so he would be able to grasp a closer look. There was still a chance that Alibaba was just imagining things, so there had to be another way to find out other than just pulling that hood off his head.

Soon Alibaba hurried up and tapped the other's shoulder, before they would disappear. He greeted them with a smile. "Excuse m-" When he leaned over just a little more and saw his face, his words got stuck in his throat. Hakuryuu? His smile faded and he stopped any motion.

He was... here? Alright, Alibaba had some ideas on how to approach him once he would have met him, he had imagined it so often, but somehow none of them seemed to fit all of a sudden. Instead a short silence took place. He didn't know what to say at all. What he wanted to know was how he was doing, why he didn't show up any earlier, but he was afraid of the answer...

Yet he knew that things needed to be talked out. If they wouldn't talk, Alibaba would never know and the disaster with Kassim would just begin anew. After he regained his confidence, he talked up. "Hakuryuu-" He grabbed him by his arm, fearing that he might run away again. Slight anger was visible on his face, mixed with worries. "How- how have you been?! Why weren't you coming when Kouen was calling out for you?! Why did you just walk away without saying goodbye?!"

A normal greeting was not possible to think about for Alibaba when he was just so emotional about meeting his old friend again.

It was a summer day.

Alibaba wanted to see Hakuryuu.

It has been a log time ever since he saw him, but he heard a lot of things about him, so he wanted to see him.

And there he was.

Hakuryuu.

Standing in the middle of nowhere.

Just like that.

Alibaba stared at him. He was confused. Why was he here?

He ran to him, shouted out his name, because apparently he hasn't seen him yet. When he got his attention, he looked at him worried. "Hey, Hakuryuu-" he asked, reluctant, sweating nervously. "How... how have you been?"

"There... there is a giant... bird... on your head..."

Since I’m slowly going back to my old schedule, I will be having enough time for roleplaying. (Never thought I’d refer to that one as the ‘old’ schedule.)

And I really want to continue roleplaying with you, so I made this as a higher priority before returning to Citta.
