You travel a lot with the band. At first it was just because you wanted to be close to your boyfriend Vessel to make sure he's okay while touring. But it quickly became clear that you were the go-to person for everything. You take care of some of their social media, do small tasks during set-up and make sure the guys feel comfortable.
This includes their performances. As always, you stand backstage and watch the stage from the side. Everything goes as planned, the show is perfect. Your boyfriend jumps across the stage like Bambi, fooling around with the others.
However, you notice from your position that his water bottle, which he has placed under the keyboard because of his strained voice recently, is almost empty. Which is not unusual considering the concert is already halfway through.
A low hum escapes you. You grab a full bottle and enter the stage without attracting attention. You sneak past behind II and his drums to Vessel's keyboard. You quickly place the new bottle of water to make your way off the stage unnoticed.
Well, not if Vessel has his way. He's spotted you. Like a predator, he's set his eyes on his prey and approaches you with long, graceful strides.
As you straighten up, you realise that your attempt to sneak on and off the stage unnoticed has failed. Vessel's attention is completely on you.
From the way he approaches you as if you were his everything, you can imagine that he's ready to flirt with you in front of the roaring crowd.
He won't kiss you on stage, you know that for sure. He would never reveal an insight into your relationship to the public. And definitely not a hint about his identity.
Your boyfriend gets closer and closer until he holds out his large hand, dipped in black body paint, for you to take.
You look at him a bit uncertain as you can see past him at the large crowd. He replies with a warm smile only you can see because his back faces the audience and wiggles his slender digits.
Eventually you grab his hand, and a roar fills the venue. Vessel guides your fingers to his lips before gently bending his torso in front of you as if asking for a dance.
A grin creeps onto your lips and before you realise it he's placed his hands on your hips and turned you around in his arms. A surprised noise escapes from your mouth.
You look ahead, into the sea of faces and phones eagerly filming the whole experience. Your breath catches. All eyes are on you and the charming man who looks like a god in his costume. He looms behind you, hovering like an intimidating guardian.
A low growl escapes him next to your ear that is only meant for you to hear. Vessel pulls your back closer to his bare, toned chest and allows his hands to roam gently over your sides. Finally, he snakes his arm around your waist. His free hand finds its way up to your chin. Gently guiding you, he tilts your head back until you rest your head against his broad shoulder.
He looks down at you and starts to sweep the pad of his thumb fondly along the curve of your lower lip. Which causes you to part your lips instinctively.
People scream excitedly in response and you want to turn your head towards them. To look at them. But you can't. Vessel holds your chin firmly yet gently between his fingers. You're trapped in his arms. Almost like before every show, when he won't let you go until the last possible second.
In the corner of your eye, you see III's slim figure and you can literally imagine his big grin under the mask.
Your gaze shifts back to Vessel, who now slowly slides his index finger down your throat. He brings his hands back to their original position on your hips and gives you another gentle squeeze. A silent thank you. Then he pulls away from you with an small smile in your direction and strides with swift, elegant steps to his mic to make sure he doesn't miss his turn.
For a moment, you stand perplexed in front of the keyboard. You watch as your boyfriend reverently holds the mic with one hand while singing and slowly slides his fingers up the microphone stand with the other.
Nobody pays attention to you anymore. Vessel holds the crowd spellbound, has them wrapped around his finger. And this fact alone impresses you. The ease with which he manages to attract the attention of the entire crowd.
The thought of what task you actually wanted to fulfil snaps you out of your thoughts. With a gentle smile on your lips, you head backstage, past II.
Behind the blind, you glance down on yourself. Black body paint sticks to your hands and clothes. And you're sure you've got some on your chin and throat too.
But you're used to it. Vessel's lack of patience would have left stains on you anyway. He just can't help but feel you before he showers the dirt and sweat from the show off his body.
You decide to enjoy the performance further and not to clean yourself now. He'll mark you as his again in his own way anyway.

You and Vessel have been really good friends for many years.
There's always been a certain level of intimacy and trust between you. Sometimes a cuddle on the shoulder, sometimes a gentle rub of the thumb over the cheek or a kiss on the hair.
His bandmates tease you, claiming Vessel and you are in a relationship and you both just don't know about it yet.
"I'm so tired." You mumble, dropping onto the black leather sofa in the backstage area, exhausted. A sigh of relief escapes you as you watch Vessel out of the corner of your eye as he removes his white mask with the red details in front of a mirror
"What about me?" He asks with a grin and opens the clasp at the back of his head. "You just stood next to the stage and watched. I gave it my all and sang."
"And danced." You add with a grin.
"Yes, and danced." Vessel replies with a soft chuckle and places the mask next to the black charcoal he applied to his body before his performance... or rather, you applied it.
"I could sleep through a whole year after the tour." He says and watches his charcoal-stained face in the mirror for a moment.
You lean your head back against the soft backrest of the sofa and look up at the ceiling with a grin. "You say that every time and then you sleep just like you did on tour, maybe an hour longer." You say playfully.
Vessel laughs softly and sits down right next to you. His shoulder brushes yours as he leans back with a relieved sigh.
You tilt your head to the side and look at him.
It doesn't take him long to notice your gaze and he turns his head towards you. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen an alien."
A grin creeps onto your lips. "I just find it amusing how messed up you look after every show." You say with a shrug and raise your hand to brush your fingers across his cheek.
He rolls his eyes playfully and gently clasps your wrist. "Go ahead and make fun of me." He says, rubbing small circles on your skin.
You look at each other in a moment of silence, his gaze darts from your eyes to your lips.
And finally, the other Sleep Token guys would be standing next to you cheering, Vessel slowly moves his face closer to yours.
You can literally imagine III's cry of joy as your lips meet in a gentle kiss.
Butterflies ignite in every fiber of your body. Your lips melt together as if they were made for each other.
But they part far too quickly.
You open your eyes as Vessel leans back. "That was..." You whisper.
"It was perfect." Vessel says softly in a husky voice. His thumb circles your wrist gently.
"I never thought..." A smile forms on your lips. "...that this would ever happen between us."
"It just felt right to do it." He looks into your eyes and can't help the playful tone in his voice. "And besides, we're already very intimate with each other anyway."
You grin softly and answer playfully. "Basically, it's the same as before."
"Exactly." He leans closer to you. "Except now I'll kiss your lips more often instead of just your forehead."
Vessel looks at you with a mischievous gleam in his eyes. "Is that okay?"
"Mhm." You hum, which is enough of an answer for Vessel as he gently presses his lips back to yours.
If III knew what was happening next to his room... he'd probably jump for joy, just like your heart leaps in your chest as you gently return Vessel's kiss.

"I won't let you go like this. You need to change." II crosses his arms in front of his chest.
"What?" You look down your body. Clinging to it is a short dress that emphasizes your curves and gives you confidence. Around your shoulder dangles a matching small bag in which you've stowed only the necessary for the night.
"I'm not letting you out like that." He points at your dress.
"Why not?" You groan. Your friends are already waiting for you because you're late, and now your boyfriend is stopping you too. "I only go to the club with friends."
II look at you in disbelief. "That's exactly why." He takes a step towards you and holds out his hand. "You go to the club like this." He lifts the bottom of your dress slightly. Immediately you push it down because your panties are showing.
"See." He says. "That's why I won't let you go like this." His voice is reproachful.
You blush. "Alright but I don't have time now. My friends are already waiting for me." You try to push past him, but you don't succeed. II holds you by the wrist. He looks intensely into your eyes.
"Y/N I'm not letting you go like this." You stare at each other. At some point II gives up. He realizes he can't change your mind. "Then I'll come with you."
You open your eyes wide in disbelief. "You're coming with me? To the club?"
II was only been to the club once and that was when he met you, never again after that. As he always says, it's enough for him to have you by his side now. His love, which makes enough adrenaline pumping through his veins in everyday life.
At the thought of your first meeting a smile creeps onto your lips. "I'm glad honey. Even if you're only coming because of my dress." You say teasingly to him.
"I can't help it. Please understand." Says II almost desperately. "You look way too hot in that dress. If you show up there alone..." There must be all kinds of situations going on in his head because his look becomes threatening. "That can't happen." He shakes his head. "That's why I'm coming with you."
"You know I would never start anything with anyone else." You assure him. No matter who, you'd dump him. II is the love of your life and always will be. "But I don't want to keep you from your plan. I'm glad you're coming with me."
You look down his body. "Are you going to stay like that?" II wears a tight black t-shirt that hugs every muscle of his torso and black sweatpants that hang loosely from his hips.
He looks down at himself. "Looks good, doesn't it?" His lips curl into a sly grin. "You love it when I wear it, don't you?"
You tilt your head. "I do, but it doesn't go with tonight. Put on something that looks more like a party."
II shakes his head. "No."
"What no?"
"I'm not changing. After all, you don't do it either even though I ask you to." He grins at you. "Besides, we don't have time. Your friends are already waiting for you." II repeats your already said words and grabs your hand.
A sigh escapes your mouth as you place your hand in his. "Everyone will be staring at us."
II opens the door for you. "Why?"
"Cause you look like you go to the gym. And I look like I'm about to party." You smile and step through the door. "At least I fit in."
As II closes the door, he laughs deeply. "They won't pay attention to me. They don't even have time for that when they're staring at you and that naughty little dress."
You blush. Luckily it's already too dark outside for II to see. "Oh yeah honey, just keep telling yourself that." You say, thinking about how all the women will stare at him. Maybe the men will stare at you, but the women's eyes will be on him. Not a single one can escape his handsome face and body, he's too perfect for that.
"Just keep telling yourself that." You say again and together you walk hand in hand to the first party II enters in years. And that's just because of your naughty little dress.

You look at your reflection in the mirror and think about which lipstick you want to wear today. There are several options. An orange one, a black one, a pink one and many more. After pondering for a long time, you decide on a bright red one.
Your body bends towards the mirror to be able to apply it more precisely. You put on the lipstick when suddenly the door opens behind you.
"Do you want to..." Vessel stops when he sees your look through the mirror. "Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you." The door closes again.
"No, you're not disturbing me. What is it?" You put the lipstick on the dressing table and turn around.
Vessel walks in. "Do you want to paint my body?" Only now do you notice that he's topless. In one hand, he holds a tube of black body paint.
"Can't you do it yourself?"
"Of course I can, but I wanted to offer it to you. Because I know how much you like it." He towers in front of you.
You laugh. "Of course because I like it." You both know you love painting his body, but you're sure he likes being touched by you just as much, if not more. And in this case, he's using you as an excuse.
You think about it and give him a condition. "Since you just interrupted me putting on makeup, I'll just do it if you put on my lipstick."
He seems to think for a moment and then nods. "This one?" He puts the tube out of his hand and lifts your red lipstick instead.
"Yeah, you like it?"
Vessel places his fingers under your chin. The resulting pressure forces you to look him in the face. "Everything that has to do with you pleases me." He smiles slightly as he sees your red cheeks.
You want to say something but he stops you, "Don't say anything or your lips won't be the only thing red." His eyes shift to yours, then he glances at your lips. You don't move and look into his eyes.
"I love your lips. They have such a beautiful shape." He says and tries not to paint over them. Why does he say things like that if you can't respond with a smile?
You try to take in his every move and your eyes begin to wander. Over his weakly pinched lips and then to his naked torso directly in front of you.
His body is trained. Not too much, just perfect. As soon as he moves his arm, individual muscles of his chest jump. Your gaze wanders to his abs. From experience you know that they look harder than they actually are. In fact, they're super comfortable to sleep on.
"Eyes up here, love."
Apparently you dropped your head down slightly because he gently pushes your chin up. Vessel smiles in amusement and gently kisses your bright red lips. He then turns your chin from left to right and lets his eyes glide over your face with adoration. "Beautiful, as always."
"Thanks." You say, reaching for the black body paint. "Now you. Spread your arms."
He follows your instruction and spreads his arms, exposing his upper body. Your gaze briefly sweeps over it before you open the tube and put a dab of black paint on your hand to cover his arms.
After that you beckon him towards you. "Come here."
He leans down and you spread the color on the lower half of his face and neck. "You look funny without your mask." You state and grin.
He shrugs his shoulders. "I'll put it on in a minute."
Then you smear another blob on his torso. As you do, your fingers graze over his tense muscles. "Why do you paint yourself today at all?" You ask suddenly.
"We need new band photos. The others pick me up and we drive to the place. You can come with us if you want." Offers Vessel.
"You better do that on your own. I meet with some friends." You smear black paint on white spots while he tells you it won't take that long anyway.
"That's it." You announce, kissing the spot above his heart. "Good luck!"
For a moment he just looks at you smiling. His eyes show one thing: sheer love! Finally, Vessel leans toward you. "See you later." He whispers, gently pressing his lip to yours.
Shortly after, he leaves the house. You do the same to meet up with your friends.
When you return home, the sky is dark. You've already informed Vessel that it will be later than expected and he is alone for the time being. And it's really late. Most likely Vessel is already asleep.
You unlock the door as quietly as possible and enter the house. You tiptoe into the bedroom and open the closet. From it you take out a large t-shirt, which is probably from Vessel. You throw your old clothes carelessly on the floor and put it on. Then you sneak to the bed and lie down next to Vessel.
"Darling?" His voice is sleepy. "Is it you?" He feels for your body in the darkness.
"Go back to sleep, honey." You say softly and slide your hand in his direction. Vessel's fingers graze your hand. His body shifts closer.
He seems to be eager to tell you something because he keeps talking. "Remember when I put makeup on you and you painted my body in return?" He whispers.
You nod. "Yeah." How could you forget?
"And can you also remember that you kissed me? Not only on my lips but also on my chest?"
Again you answer with a yes. What's he getting at?
"II pointed it out to me. To a red kissing mouth on my chest. And not to mention my unnaturally red lips."
You can't help but giggle. "Was he teasing you?"
Vessel hums in agreement. "He asked if you had anything to do with it. I mean...who else?"
"Don't think about it Ves. II's just jealous because he never gets kissed."
Your response makes him laugh softly. "Maybe you're right." He gently wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you close. His face nestles against the crook of your neck. "Anyway, I wore the kissing mouth with pride. As an accessory. But then I had to paint over it for the photos."
His body warmth seeps into you and your eyes grow heavy. "I would love to listen to your lovely words all night, but the day has been quite exhausting."
Vessel nods. "If you need me, you know where to find me. I won't run away." He jokes and kisses your neck. "Sleep tight."
"Good night, honey." You snuggle closer to him. "I love you."
"I love you too, darling."
Shortly after, you fall asleep peacefully entwined with each other.

Today Sleep Token has a gig. Until then it's still a few hours, so there's enough time to do some nonsense.
You make your way to III. He said he waits outside the venue, in a locked area.
On the way to him you pass through a small room and see a black mask with the all too familiar white symbol lying around. None of the band members walks around without their face covering, after all they want to hide their identity. So it must be a second mask, in case one tears or something.
I'm sure no one will mind if it's gone, you think to yourself, and reach out for it. You look around to see if no one is watching you and pull it over your head. The fabric clings to your face. It feels like a second skin.
After a short while you leave the room. You walk down a corridor and push open a door. Cold air seeps through the fabric of your mask.
A few meters away III is standing with Mick the photographer. They're talking about something. You walk towards the two.
III, who is facing you, looks over the shoulder of his counterpart and immediately starts laughing under his mask when he sees you. "What's that?" His laughter makes your heart beat faster.
Mick excuses himself and leaves.
"What do you mean?" You ask III as you come to a stop in front of him, you try to suppress your laughter.
He points at you with his arm trembling with laughter. "What you look like." His laughter grows stronger and he can barely stay on his feet. His hand finds its way to your shoulder and gently clasps it. "You look like II, only smaller."
Now you can't help but giggle. "Don't I look good?" You gracefully run your hands over your head.
Your question amuses him even more and he leans back, laughing at the top of his lungs. One hand on your shoulder doesn't seem to give him enough stability anymore because he puts his other hand on his stomach. "You look fantastic." He brings over his lips with effort.
You fold your hands together and hold them at your side. III, who slowly calmed down looks at you grinning. You blink your eyes. "Thanks." You say, flattered.
This makes III laugh again, slapping his thighs with his hands. "Stop it." He struggles to catch his breath. "My stomach hurts."
His laughter slowly fades and he suddenly looks around searchingly. "Wait, this needs to be recorded. Where's Mick?" He spins once in a circle and yells. "Mick?!"
Mick is already running towards you from one direction. "What's up?"
III replies exhausted. "You have to take a photo." He points at you. "Isn't that hilarious?" Again, he starts laughing at the sight of you. You giggle because it suddenly sounds like grunting noises. That, in turn, makes III laugh more. Tears of joy form in your eyes. You wipe them away.
Mick stands next to you and grins. "You guys are really meant for each other." He raises his camera and snaps a few photos as you barely stay on your feet, holding each other tightly.
Eventually, you act normal again and Mick walks away. Only your breath indicates that you've either just run a marathon or had a laughing fit.
III pulls you to his rapidly rising and falling chest. "Oh I love you so much." He cradles your bodies and rests his chin on the top of your head. "Wow the mask even smells like II."
You grin. It might be his mask. After all, there aren't that many other options.
After you've calmed down, III asks you, "I'm sure the photos turned out fantastic. Do you mind if I post one of them and write something cheesy underneath?" He gently pushes you away, grinning under his mask. His hands reach for yours and squeeze them lightly. "Like your laugh is the most beautiful sound in the world?"
You smack his arm. "It is!"
"I know. I was serious about that. That's why I add this sentence. So everybody knows." He defends himself.
Of course you give him the okay and a few days later, you can actually find one pic on his Instagram channel, with said cheesy caption.

The door slowly slides open. Light streams into the completely dark room.
You groan and turn in your bed, away from the light. Footsteps come toward you. "Kurt, you know it's no offense, but go away! I don't want you to get sick." You try to stop your lover with a raspy voice.
He stops. "But I want to hold you in my arms again. Besides, the sofa is rock hard." His footsteps settle back into gear. In a moment, he'll be standing right next to you. "And it's not particularly big, either."
"But I don't want you to get sick!"
You almost made it through the cold without infecting Kurt. He's been nursing you the last few days. Again and again he came into your room like a caring mother and asked if you needed anything. Kurt brought you tea and soups. In the meantime your cold has gotten better, but not completely gone.
Despite your illness, he often tried to lie down with you. During the night he entered the room and crept up to you. Kurt slowly lowered his body onto the mattress. But because of your cold, your sleep wasn't very deep anyway and you woke up immediately. He tried to move as little as possible, hoping you wouldn't notice him. And thus also not the deepening in the mattress.
Kurt now stops a little bit away from you, accepting your request not to come closer. For now. "I won't get sick, my love."
"Honey, it's only two more days. I'll be fine then." Your voice is weak.
It's quiet. Kurt doesn't answer anymore and you wonder if he has left the room.
"Kurt? Are you still there?"
Suddenly he's standing right in front of you. The light shines against Kurt's back, exposing his slender outline. Before that, he avoided the brightness. "I don't care if I get sick. Understand this please. I just want to hold you in my arms." Kurt's voice sounds tortured. So very tortured. He sounds like he's about to cry because his longing for you is so strong. It breaks your heart to see him suffer.
You exhale and slide to the side. "Alright, then lie down with me." You pat the empty spot next to you. "But don't complain if you feel bad later and get sick."
Kurt places himself next to you and gently wraps his arm around your waist. So gently, as if you could break at any moment. He pulls you to his chest and exhales in relief. "Finally. I've been wanting to do that for the last few days."
A soft chuckle creeps over your lips. It's sweet that he missed you so much.
Kurt continues to speak. "And if I get sick, then that's the way it is. I'll deal with that when the time comes. Right now I want to enjoy this moment."
"Then do that. I won't run away." You drop deeper into your soft pillow. "Is it okay if I sleep?"
"Absolutely. You need to get well." Kurt's lips gently press a kiss to the back of your head as he pulls the blanket over your ailing body. "Sleep tight honey."
You close your eyes, sure you'll feel much better tomorrow. Maybe it's because of sleep, or maybe it's because Kurt is lying next to you.

Some time ago Shawn, a good friend of yours, asked you if you would like to make masks for him and some of his band mates. You said yes, of course.
He then told you they were on tour and you had to come along. They're playing a concert in your town soon and would pick you up. Shawn said he'll put you on the guest list. For you the whole thing is no problem.
When the day came, you went to the back entrance of the venue with a big bag.
"Hey, I'm Y/N. Shawn put me on the guest list." You look at the big intimidating security guard.
He looks at a list and nods. "Ah here it is, Y/N." He makes a hand gesture for you to follow and opens the door. "First, let's get your bag out of here."
You walk silently behind the guard. You cross a few rooms and walk through different hallways until you come to a door that leads to a locked outdoor area.
There are tour buses of the crew and a huge bus that looks quite luxurious.
"You'll sleep in that bus there." He points to a slightly smaller bus that is right next to the luxurious one.
You enter your new sleeping place, it's spacious. The bus has four bunks, two of which seem to be occupied, a small kitchen and a bathroom. It's small but perfectly adequate. Besides, the bus seems to be for more important people of the crew. You doubt that in every bus there is a kitchen and a bathroom.
You put your bag down on an empty bunk.
"Where's Y/N? In there?" You hear someone ask.
You turn around to the entrance of the bus. Already Shawn comes rushing in.
"Y/N finally we meet again! It's been a long time." He hugs you. Then pulls away and talks to you. You don't notice much because your attention is focused on two men outside the door. A rather tall man leaning against the bus and a short man standing next to him, both staring at you.
"Aren't you going to introduce me?" You interrupt Shawn.
Shawn turns around, confused. When he catches sight of the two men, he walks toward them. You follow him.
"That's Chris." He points to the tall man. Chris gives you a friendly nod. "And that's Joey."
Said man smiles. "Nice to meet you." His green eyes scrutinize you intently. You smile back, which seems to please him, because the corners of his mouth pull up further. Joey seems to be kind, you think.
"And who are you?" Chris asks harshly, destroying the beautiful moment.
"You idiot. This is Y/N. I told you about her. She'll be making the masks for everyone who doesn't have a new one yet." Shawn takes a step toward him. "So for you too." He looks like he wants to punch Chris in the face.
Joey looks from Shawn and Chris to you. "Then we'll work together." He asks the question that isn't really a question anymore.
Shawn ignores Joey's sentence and turns to you. "Y/N you'll have time to settle in later. I'll introduce you to the others for now." He walks toward the building, leaving the two men behind. "First impressions are important. It can help you find a new design for the particular mask."
You re-enter the building and Shawn introduces you to his band members. You chat with each, then the boys must take the stage.
You watch their performance with enthusiasm. It's impressive how they manage to make the crowd go crazy.
After the concert the men go to their bus, it's the big luxurious one. You go into your bus and introduce yourself to your roommates. After that you go to sleep.
The next morning you're woken up by loud knocking. "Y/N! Get up! Let's go get some breakfast!" It's Shawn's voice.
You look around in confusion. You're alone. The others were probably still going to let you sleep.
"I'll be right there. Give me five minutes." You reach into your bag and pull out a pair of pants and a top. After you put it on you knot your hair. One last look in the mirror then you open the door.
Nine faces stare at you. "Oh...I didn't know you were all waiting." You're embarrassed and blush.
"We like to wait for you Y/N." Joey smiles at you.
"Joey stop flirting with Y/N!" Commands Shawn and gives him a scowl. He's like your dad, trying to protect you from bad guys.
"I'm hungry. Can we go now?" Whines Corey.
Joey rolls his eyes as Corey trudges off without answering. The rest of you go after him in small groups.
You stick mostly to Shawn since he's the only one you really know so far. He tells you that you're going to a bakery to eat. It's only a short walk.
You are talking to Shawn about his ideas for his new mask when Joey comes up next to you.
"I don't want to bother you but you mentioned yesterday that you wanted to talk to everyone individually, I volunteer to be the first. You just have to say when and where. I have time all day."
You smile kindly at him. "Um yeah I'd love to." For some reason his presence makes you shy. "We can meet right after lunch."
And there you sit now, waiting, in a large room with a few boxes of your utensils. They were delivered the day before so you can physically make the different masks.
You wait for Joey, he said after you were back at the venue he had to go to the bus. You replied that you would already be waiting in the pre-arranged room.
The pen in your hand draws small circles on the paper lying in your lap. At some point the door opens and you look up. Joey happily enters the room, obviously pleased to see you again.
It's his first consultation with you. You thought you would immediately start exchanging ideas, but you thought wrong!
Joey doesn't seem to have it urgent with his mask. He seemed to want to get to know you more first. He asked you how you know Shawn. You answer that you have been friends with his wife for a long time.
He seems interested in you, which flatters you.
The day after you have free because dismantling. So you can still move around the venue.
Only on that day, at your second meeting, Joey talks about his mask for the first time. He has exact ideas which he announces to you. He illustrates it with his old mask that he brought with him.
His previous mask had rivets as eyebrows and blood-red stripes around the eyes. His new one, as he says, is supposed to look like "someone drowned in the water, lain in it for months and rose again". Simply put, he wants to look like a floater.
As he tells you this, you make a quick sketch. "It's supposed to be a further evolution of your current mask, right?" You quickly draw Joey's profile on the page.
"Yeah, it's just supposed to be...dirtier. You know what I mean? With brown spots and stuff." He leans back and watches you put his ideas on the paper. "Also, I'm imagining a patched crack on the forehead. The mouth should also be like this... You're really talented Y/N. Do you know that?" His gaze is fixed on the paper in your lap as he moves closer to you to see better.
The sudden closeness brings heat to your face. You don't want to let on what effect he has on you and thank him for the compliment.
After a short time, the mini version of Joey lies in front of you. He already looks pretty scary, but something is still missing. Then it occurs to you. You put the pencil back on and draw a crown of thorns on his head. "What do you think?" You hold up the sketch. "You said you wanted to look like a floater and I thought the crown would go well with it."
Something in his eyes changes, they radiate enthusiasm but also a certain admiration. He takes the drawn paper from your hand. "I would never have thought of that. It fits perfectly." With joy, he pulls you into a hug.
As he lets go of you, he pushes a strand of black hair behind his ear. He looks down at the floor in shame. This time he blushes. "Sorry, I didn't mean to push you or anything. It was just because I..."
You put your hand on his knee and smile faintly. "It's okay. I get so excited a lot too that I could hug the whole world."
He looks up slowly. A weak smile on his lips.
You notice he's still uncomfortable with the situation and change the subject. "If you like the sketch, I would take a print of your face tomorrow."
He agrees.
"Tomorrow we travel to the next town and it will take a while for the mixture to dry on your face. Do you mind if you're on the bus with me during the ride and I take care of your face in the meantime?"
"That's fine. It'll give me a little time off from the boys."
So a day later, Joey gets on the bus with you.
"Sit down over there, please." You point to a black couch. "I'll be right with you." You enter the bathroom and take a bowl of thick liquid from the sink.
You moisten a rag. "Here, use this to clean your face."
Joey can just barely catch the wet fabric out of the air before it would've slapped him in the face. While cleaning his skin, he asks where your roommates are.
"Not wanting to get in my way while I do my work, they got on another bus." You squint at Joey, stirring the mixture in the bowl. "You ready?"
Joey nods and sets the rag on the table beside him. "Wait, I'll quickly tie up my hair." He raises his hands and tucks his black hair behind his ears. Using a brown scrunchie, he ties his hair at the back of his head. In the process, the sleeves of his t-shirt slipped up.
You're amazed at how muscular his arms actually are and you immediately wonder what it's like to be held by them.
"Y/N are you okay?" Joey snaps you out of your thoughts.
"Oh um yeah. I was just thinking about how your mask is going to end up looking."
"I hope good." He laughs.
And all you can think about is that you could watch him do this all day. His laughter sounds beautiful.
What's wrong with you all of a sudden? Do you develop feelings for him?
You pull a brush out of your pocket and dip it into the bowl. "Here we go."
He closes his eyes as he feels the coldness of the liquid on his skin. You add a few more brush strokes. You think it's cute how Joey wrinkles his nose.
"Are you ticklish?" You ask.
"Mmmhhm."
"You can talk. I paint your mouth at the end."
He answers your question. "Yes I am. Very easily, in fact. This thing here," He points across the room. "Drives me crazy."
"Eventually you get used to the feeling. But it's cute how you wrinkle your nose at every stroke."
He smiles. "I've never gotten a compliment like that before. Thank you."
The upper half of his face is now completely covered with the thick liquid.
"Do you have any last words before I paint over your mouth?" You ask.
"Yes indeed." His words come thoughtfully over his lips, his beautiful lips. "We're only going to meet one more time aren't we? To give me my finished mask?" You nod. "So we don't really know each other, but I like you. I know you'll be busy with the others, but do you want to meet sometime?"
You don't know where you got the sudden confidence as you say the next words. "Only if it's a date."
He laughs. "Then I guess it will be a date."
"Then we can meet." You say. "I'll paint your mouth now. Don't be scared."
He nods and you finish your work by painting his lips.
You hear your name and look up. Your masked boyfriend IV talks to the band photographer Mick.
"If Y/N wants to." The two men turn to you. You nod hesitantly and rise.
"So that's it for today?" II asks the photographer. Actually, only band photos for promotional purposes were to be taken outdoors today. Mick nods in agreement.
II follows Vessel and III. The two didn't wait for Mick's response, but simply decided the photo shoot was over. The small group walks in your direction.
"Have fun Y/N." Says III kindly as he's only a few meters away from you. His tone tells you he's smiling under his mask.
You watch as II suddenly picks up speed and jumps on III's back, almost attacking him. The tall skinny man gives a startled grunt and almost falls over. He just barely manages to put his hands in II's knee bends to keep him in place. You walk past the three of them, laughing.
Then you look at IV. He stretches his hand in your direction. You walk a little faster and grab it.
"How do you want the photos?" Mick asks.
"You get to decide, my love." IV squeezes your hand. You look into his beautiful ocean blue eyes. An idea pops into your head.
"How about you just take a picture of our eyes." You look back and forth between the two grown men. "So that just barely one half of our faces is visible. We can just lie down in the grass." You look at Mick, waiting.
He shrugs his shoulders. "I can do anything. You just have to say what you want."
"Okay, what do you say?" You turn to IV.
His eyes are full of enthusiasm. "That's a good idea."
So after you decide on this position you go to a green meadow, it's overflowing with white daisies. You lie down between them.
IV settles down next to you and leans on his elbows. You grin and look at his face that is now hovering over you.
"The flowers make you shine." He reaches out a hand and caresses your cheek. "So pretty."
Your face heats up.
"I hate to interrupt you, but I have to get to my next client soon." Mick interrupts you.
"Sorry man." IV lies down in the grass. He moves as close to you as he can. Your cheeks touch.
"I'm going to stand over you. Just look at the camera." Orders Mick, he now has his camera in his hand.
He leans over you and takes photos. Then he leans back and stops. "Perfect. Thank you both."
IV helps you stand up. Then you walk with intertwined hands to the other members.
A day later, III writes you a message.
"The photos turned out so cute."
You write back. "What photos?"
"From yesterday. Haven't you seen the pictures yet? IV posted some on Instagram."
Immediately, you open Instagram. And in fact, he posted two pictures of the two of you.
In the first pic only your eyes are visible. The small cutout of his black mask make his blue eyes stand out even more than they already do. But that's nothing compared to your eyes. They compete with his.
You swipe to the side. The second image is shot from a higher angle. Your face is visible up to your nose. You're sure his fans still can't recognize you.
Daisies grow at the edge of this photo, they surround your profile and contrast with the mask from IV.
But what immediately catches your eye is a black spot on your cheek. It must be from IV when he touched you.
You grin and read the caption.
'My little flower, your beauty will never fade, as will my love for you. I will forever be your water and the earth under your feet.'
It's unbelievable what these few lines trigger in you. Your belly fills with butterflies.
"Baby?" You call into the apartment.
"I'm here!"
You walk into the room IV's currently in. There is a big smile on your face. "I love you too." Your legs automatically lead to him.
His confused expression turns into a smile after he understands what you are talking. about "You like it?"
"Do I like it?" You ask, putting your arms around his neck. "Absolutely." You lean over and kiss his lips. "I found out through III. He likes the pictures. He thinks they're beautiful."
IV wraps his arms around your waist and kisses you again. "They're only beautiful because you're on them, my love." He whispers against your lips.
Your legs get weak. If he hadn't held you in his arms, this sentence would have made you fall to the ground.
Summary: he has to put his real dreadlocks through the mask, you give him a hand
Notes: I think I read an article somewhere that Corey used to put his dreadlocks through holes on his mask when he first got it. At some point he got annoyed with the whole effort and cut them off. The cut dreads were then attached to the mask. BUT inform yourself about this story to be sure that it's really true. Maybe I only dreamed about it or something. Anyway, this is my inspiration for this one shot

"Baby I need your help." Corey enters the room in his red jumpsuit, holding his white and gray mask in one hand. The concert doesn't start for less than an hour.
When you see the mask in his hand you immediately know what he needs your help for. You nod and beckon him to join you, "Sit with me."
Actually, you thought he was going to sit next to you on the couch, but he drops to the floor in front of you. He slides backwards closer to you and pushes your legs apart so that he can sit between them.
"It bugs me so much." His tone is annoyed. "Every time, I have to get ready an hour before the concert starts. The others just have to put on their masks and they can jump on stage. I mean I love my dreadlocks, but in this case they're just annoying." He drops his head back into your lap.
That's exactly the reason, his dreads. Before every show, Corey goes to the trouble of pulling his dreadlocks through little holes on his mask. Or rather you do. After all, Corey just sits in front of you and waits until you're done with it.
You take two strands of his hair and play with them between your fingers. "Why don't you just sew fabric dreads to the mask?" You suggest.
"But then it won't look scary anymore." He whines.
"Then I guess you'll just have to deal with it, or shave your hair off after all."
Corey says nothing to that but holds out his mask to you. You take it and put it on your lap, so that the face is facing up.
You work in silence. His green brown dreadlocks hang down. You reach for one and open the mask, putting the strand through the matching hole. But only the beginning so that Corey can still move his head. Meanwhile, he seems to be thinking intensely about something.
While you concentrate on getting him ready for the show, the other members trickle in.
They look briefly at you, greet you and then drop onto scattered chairs. You see Corey giving them annoyed looks.
When you finally get each of his dreadlocks poked through the holes you carefully lift up the mask. "Babe you have to pull the mask carefully over your face now."
Corey stretches out his arms and searches for the mask. When he finally finds it, he lifts it over his head with your help.
A strand almost slips out, you can just hold it with your fingers. "Watch out! I don't feel like doing this all over again."
Corey mumbles something you don't understand and pulls the mask completely over his face.
Now you pull out the ends of his dreads completely. "You're ready to perform."
Corey sighs in relief. His head falls back onto your lap. "Finally." He growls. His black-painted eyes look upside down at you.
You place your hands on the cheek of his mask and kiss his lips. "You look beautiful. I mean terrifying."
His lips twist into a smile as he closes his eyes. "Thank you." He says quietly.
You glance at your watch. "The show starts in a few minutes." He sighs and scrambles to his feet.
"See you later." He cups your face and leans in. He pecks your lips.
"Good luck." You say.
Corey is almost out of the room when he suddenly turns around. "I'm cutting them off!" He says firmly and lifts up a dreadlock.
Then he leaves the room, leaving you speechless.
The day after, you ask him to let you cut his hair. He agrees.
"Cut the dreads as close to the roots as possible, please."
"Why?" You ask.
"Without the dreads, my mask is harmless. So I want to attach my real hair." You nod hesitantly. "For the creepy effect." He says.
"I'll do my best." You lift the scissors and take a strand between your fingers. "You ready?"
Corey nods. "Do it honey."
You cut his hair and hold it out to him. He takes it and marvels at it. "It's really long." He says in amazement. Then he carefully places the strand on the table in front of him.
You cut off all his dreads. Quickly there is a small pile on the table in front of Corey.
"That's not creepy at all." You laugh.
Corey grins. "They're finally off. No more miserable long prep before concerts." His voice is filled with pure joy. He stands up and turns around, a broad smile on his lips. "Thank you. Tomorrow I'll attach the dreads to my new mask."
"You're leaving your hair like that today?" You point questioningly to the table.
He nods.
"I hope no one visits and asks if there are any murderers living here."
He laughs at your statement and assures to complete his new mask already today, for your sake.

You sit on an exercise ball and bounce up and down. You just love to sit on it and work. Luckily you only need your laptop for that. So you can go on tour and support your boyfriend as much as you can, which he is happy about. All the driving from one city to the next can be really hard sometimes.
So you sit in the backstage area while the band looks at the venue filled with fans. Your laptop stands unfolded in front of you. Underneath you is the inflated ball.
You're often asked why you like to sit on it while working. And you answer the same every time. It is better than sitting on hard chairs. Besides, you have a better posture on the ball.
Right now you're circling your hips, pushing yourself back and forth on the ball. It's completely subconscious, you don't even think about the movements. You are just too focused on the small screen in front of you. So much that you don't even notice III entering the room.
His voice breaks the silence. "I don't have time until after the show." You flinch and close your eyes in shock. When you open them again, you lift your eyes to III. He seems to have snuck in and is now eyeing you up.
You frown. "What?"
"Aren't you getting ready for me?" He extends his arm and points to the exercise ball under your buttocks.
"No shut up!" You hold onto the table in front of you for balance, then you rise and take a few steps toward III. "Don't be so filthy!"
Finally, you stand in front of him. You raise your hand and go to lightly slap his arm, but he dodges. Slips under your arm (which is very impressive for his body size) and turns around. He wraps his arms around your waist from behind.
He leans down to your ear and whispers softly. "The offer stands."
Your hands grope for his. When you finally find them, you intertwine your fingers. You lean your back head against his chest. "You know I'll be exhausted from work later. And besides, you will be too." You twist in his arms. "You'll just want to be back in my arms later and sleep."
III looks at you, his height towers over you. "You know that's not true."
You tilt your head. "Honey, that's why I love you. You're my little koala baby.... well, big koala baby." You lift your hand to his nose and squeeze it.
His eyes track your movement. "So you don't want to accept my offer?"
You press your small body against his tall figure. Your answer is clear but also with a trace of pity. "No!"
His eyes look a little sad. But you know it wouldn't come to that later anyway. And he knows it too. As you said, he snuggles up to you and then falls asleep in your arms. And you are too exhausted because of your work. So why make promises that won't be kept anyway? From none of you.
"Then you've practiced for me completely in vain now." He says disappointedly, lowers his head and looks at the floor.
He's just too adorable. You suppress a smile and stand on your tiptoes.
"I guess I did then." You say and stretch your arms upward. You cup his face and pull him as close as you can. Your lips touch. III big hands roam over your arms, hips and finally your ass. He is about to deepen the kiss when you pull away. Only so far that your noses almost touch.
"I have to get back to work now." You pat his cheek and release yourself from his arms. He looks at you confused, but you don't let him stop you and eventually find your place on the gym ball.
You look at III who is staring at you. You grin cheekily at him and bounce up and down. Then focus back on your work.

You don't know why, but Dave wanted to help you with the preparations, but only the ones that concern you. That means putting on the dress, doing your hair and makeup. Of course Dave doesn't do it personally, even if he offered it to you. You're sure it wouldn't look bad, but you want to look extra beautiful today. The day you make Kurt your husband. That's why your friends are helping you.
You come out of a small side room into the big one where Dave is sitting on a sofa with his legs wide apart. As he looks up his mouth stays open.
"Y/N... wow you look..." He searches for the right words. "Gorgeous."
You blush and look down at yourself. Your hands run over your big white skirt. "Thank you."
Your schedule is not big, soon the wedding ceremony starts. That's why Dave stands up and addresses your friend Lia who comes out of the small room. "Is Y/N done with the dress?"
Lia tells him that she has to put on the veil just before the ceremony, but everything else is ready. Dave immediately turns to you.
"We need to change rooms now. You need to get your hair and that cute little face fixed up." He angles his arms at his hips. "I hope we don't run into Kurt." He says more to himself than to you.
According to traditions, it is forbidden for the couple to see each other before the wedding ceremony.
"You have to help me carry my skirt." You ask Dave. He nods and lifts it up behind you.
"Okay. We need to make this quick. Do you know where we need to go?" You nod. "All right then, let's go."
Dave opens the door, looks right and left, and lets you through. You walk down a long hallway, turn a few times, and suddenly you see a golden head of hair turn the corner.
"Eyes closed Y/N!" Roars Dave as he peers over your shoulder and sees Kurt in his black suit. It's too late, you've already seen Kurt. He looks beautiful. Still, you quickly close your eyes. Dave has gone to so much trouble to prepare everything perfectly.
At the same time, Dave's excited voice draws the attention of his bandmate to you.
Dave lets go of your skirt and waves his arms in Kurt's direction. His blue eyes scrutinize you. A smile settles on his lips. You look like an angel. Only after he has examined you does he look at Dave.
"Close your eyes!" He shouts.
Kurt does as he is told and closes his eyes. He walks in your direction.
Dave sighs. "Great he saw you." Probably rubbing his face in exasperation.
You continue walking. "It's not like I'm completely fixed up yet. So it's not that bad."
"If you say so." You continue walking down the hall.
Finally, Kurt's fingers graze your abdomen. "Hey honey, you look gorgeous." He says, his fingers finding their way to your hips.
"Don't get too close to her. You're almost up her skirt." Says Dave, and you feel Kurt push back slightly.
"You're taking this way too seriously. My dress won't stay white today anyway." You reach out your hands, looking for Kurt's hands.
"It doesn't have to be dirty before the ceremony, though." Your hand is grabbed and pulled further forward. It's Dave's hand, it's much calloused from playing drums than Kurst's hand.
He places yours on the palm of Kurt's large hand. "Thanks." You murmur and squeeze Kurt's fingers.
"Finally, we become wife and husband." He says. You hear him smile proudly.
You can't help but smile, too. "Finally." Kurt's thumb rubs over your hand.
"I don't want to bother you." Says Dave suddenly beside you. You forgot he was still there. You can't see him. Your eyes are tightly shut. "But Y/N has to go on now. You'll see enough of each other today."
"I love you Y/N." Says Kurt, lifting your hand to his mouth. His lips gently kiss your knuckles.
"Love you too. I'll see you later." Reluctantly, you let go of him.
Dave hooks onto you and pulls you with him. "Don't open your eyes until I tell you." You nod. Shortly after, you turn the corner Kurt came out of.
"Now you can open your eyes again." You open them. "Quickly now. You and Kurt have spent a lot of time."
"It wasn't that long."
Dave ignores you and leads you across the hall to the next room where you're getting your makeup and hair done.
The rehearsals are finally over and IV has a short time to be with you. He stands masked in front of you in a corridor. Your hands play with his collar, adjusting it.
"Who is this attractive man always yelling into his mic?" You suddenly ask.
IV blinks in confusion. "You know him. It's Vessel." You look up and press your lips together. Vessel? Who's talking about Vessel? You're talking about him.
He frowns. "Why do you call him attractive?"
You stop moving and ignore his question. Instead, you try to jog his memory. "He plays guitar, too." Your head tilts, you raise your eyebrows questioningly.
IV eyes light up in realization.
"I mean you, silly. I don't care about Vessel. He has enough female fans." You lift one hand from his collar and make a dismissive gesture. The other hand slides to his chest.
IV grabs your small hand out of the air, holds it like you're fragile. He places it against his cheek. His mask nestles against your palm. Your warmth penetrates the black fabric, gives him a moment of security.
"You deserve much more attention.... from men." You say. His eyes dart to you. "Of course I want you to have female fans too but.... you know what I mean."
The corners of his mouth tug upward. "Is someone getting jealous?"
Your cheeks heat up. "No. Besides, don't forget you were jealous earlier, too! You thought I found Vessel attractive."
"I also wonder why I thought that." His arms wrap around your hips.
"Yeah I mean look at him! Wobbling around the stage in just his robe and pants." You grin.
IV smiles. "Just so he can show off his abs."
Suddenly Vessel walks past you, seeming to be in a hurry. "Thanks guys." He just says. He doesn't really seem to care what you said about him.
You look after Vessel, his robe fluttering behind him. Then you turn your head back to IV, he rolls his eyes. "Vessel."
"Yes typical Vessel."
He never cares what others think of him.
IV, leans his cheek more into your touch, lifts his free hand and places it on your jaw. His thumb gently strokes your cheekbone.
"I've got to go, my love. III wants to talk to me about something." He leans toward you and kisses your lips. "I love you."
"I love you too."
IV lowers his hand. "See you later."
You nod. "Miss you already."
You're interrupted. "It's really cute, but I have to kidnap IV now." Calls III to you from across the aisle.
IV looks to you. "Yeah go on." You say and make a shooing hand gesture.
You look to III, who opens his arms wide for IV, ready to hug him. IV shakes his head, leaving you behind, and slowly walks up to III. When he finally reaches him, he is immediately embraced tightly.

"Shit, there's my ex." You point to a small group of five people moving toward you. All of them are wearing a ribbon with a card around their necks. It says VIP in large letters.
"That's your ex?" Vessel utters, a slight hint of jealousy in his voice. His white mask stares toward the group. "You used to date that guy? He looks like he just robbed a bank." You can literally imagine his appraising look under the mask.
Your ex is wearing a tank top, tattooed arms peek out. It's true, he does look a bit like a criminal. Luke, that's his name, obviously sees you because his expression getting darker.
You punch Vessel in the arm. He grabs you gently by the wrists, preventing you from hitting him further.
"Do you have something against my taste in men?" You glare at him. You don't like each other much. You're here mostly just for III and the others.
"He's just... I don't know." Vessel lets go of your wrists after he realizes that you don't want to hit him again.
You want to answer but are interrupted by III. "Argue later. The group is coming to us now."
You know people want to meet the members. For this reason, you want to move aside, but an arm suddenly wraps around your shoulder. It's not III, II or IV. No, it's Vessel. He pulls you to his black chest.
'What is he doing?' You think to yourself. You just want to get away from your ex and try to push Vessel away. But he holds you in place. "Let go of me." You whisper softly.
"Just play along." He answers. You frown. "Trust me."
The group is in front of you now. You force a smile. The group leader passes the floor to Vessel. Immediately he starts giving a short speech about the band, songs and Sleep.
All the while you feel the piercing gaze of your ex on you. Vessel seems to mind, because he lets his arm slide from your shoulder to your hip and pulls you closer to him.
You open your eyes and look for help to III, who shakes his head, his eyes apologetic.
"Thanks for coming." With these words he ends his speech. After that, there is enough time for people to take pictures with the band.
But now you finally break away from Vessel. You stand to the side, wait until everyone has received their photo. Unfortunately, your ex was the first to take one and then stood next to you.
"Are you dating him now?" He asks in no uncertain terms. You look to the side and try to ignore him. "Does he love you more than I ever did?"
Your head snaps up. "Why do you care? You broke up with me!" You emphasize the word you.
"He's so different, not your type at all." He says, almost disgusted.
"I can love who I..."
A big hand suddenly slips into yours. "Babe, is everything okay? Do you know this man?" Vessel asks you worried. You don't know if it's real or fake. If it's an act, he's very good at it.
You still hate him but he saves you from your ex so you look at him gratefully. "Yeah, that's my ex. I didn't know he was a fan of your band, honey."
Vessel nods and holds out his free hand. "Nice to meet you...?"
"Luke."
You watch the scenario unfold. Luke and Vessel's hand join in greeting. As they do so, Vessel literally crushes the hand of his counterpart.
You frown. Why is Vessel suddenly so jealous? He never is.
"It was nice meeting you, Luke, but unfortunately your group is moving on."
Luke nods and says goodbye. "See you Y/N."
As soon as Luke is out of your sight you want to shake Vessel's hand off. He doesn't let go of it. "I appreciate it but you can let go of me now."
"No. What if Luke sees us again? He thinks we're a couple."
"And what does that have to do with our hands now?" You're visibly annoyed.
"You don't want him to bug you again, do you? So we need to act like a couple."
You raise your free hand and extend your index finger in his direction. "Just today!"
"Just today Y/N."
You screw up your face and nod.
"Good, let's go join the others. They're waiting." As you stand with the band members, they stare at your entwined hands in confusion.
You point your head at Vessel and roll your eyes. They just accept it without elaborating.
Later, Vessel announces that he has an idea. "Just stand at the front of the crowd."
And now you're standing right there, pressed against the barrier in front of you. Not far from you, you recognize Luke's profile. Hopefully he doesn't see you. You don't feel like being bothered by him for the rest of the day.
One after the other, the members enter the stage. The audience goes crazy. Finally they see their favorite band.
The music plays and the concert starts. It goes on as usual. Vessel dances and flirts with III. Nothing abnormal. But why did he want you to be in front? Despite your ignorance, you enjoy the show, nodding along to the beat.
Finally, the chords of The Summoning begin to play.
The drums start and Vessel jumps from one leg to the other.
"I've got a river running right into you"
He was standing on the other side of the stage until just now. Now he slowly walks in the other direction, towards IV and thus towards you.
A thought occurs to you. Is Vessel planning to flirt with you? In public? You could slap your hand in front of your face. Why'd you say yes to his idea?
He stretches his painted hand gracefully forward, leaning in your direction.
"I've got a blood trail, red in the blue
Something you say or something you do
A taste of the divine"
He sings like every word is meant just for you. You smile and pretend to enjoy his attention. Maybe you do?
"You've got my body, flesh and bone, yeah"
His hand runs over his chest, down to his muscular stomach. White skin remains.
"The sky above, the Earth below"
He raises his hand to the sky, then points below him. Then he steps back and sings the chorus with full abandon.
"Raise me up again
Take me past the edge
I want to see the other side
See the other side"
Vessel yells into the mic, standing in the middle again. Then he continues singing until the slower part starts.
The music plays and Vessel slowly gets on his knees in front of you. His mask looks down, he holds the mic in one hand. Then he raises his free hand upwards.
"Oh, and my love"
Your heart starts pounding and you can't help but smile. The words 'my love' trigger something in you. It feels like he really means every word he sings.
"Did I mistake you for a sign from God?
Or are you really here to cut me off?
Or maybe just to turn me on"
He tilts his head questioningly. Making your ex jealous has obviously become secondary.
"Cause these days
I would be lying if I told you that
I didn't wish that I could be your man"
Suddenly a tear comes loose and runs down your cheek. It feels so real what he says. Does he really want to be your man? Yes you hate him but somehow you don't.
"Or maybe make a good girl bad"
His lips twist into a cheeky grin. You open your eyes wide.
IV is standing next to Vessel. Your gaze briefly jumps to his ocean blue eyes. He looks at you confused, probably wondering what is going on between the two of you so suddenly. The other members look confused as well. You've never acted like this before, never been so affectionate and passionate with each other. And certainly not in public. Usually you just insult or ignore each other.
Vessel finishes the song and leans forward, exhausted. As if he had put all his strength into the song to reveal the feelings he has for you.
More tears run down your cheeks. You wipe them away.
Vessel folds his hands and raises them to his forehead to thank the crowd, to thank you.
You're caught completely off guard. You absolutely have to talk to him later.
Only now you remember your ex. You look at his place. He glares angrily at Vessel, who simply ignores him and doesn't look at him once. Luke does not speak to you again that day.
When the concert ends, you wait until the audience has left. Then you sneak backstage to the dressing room.
You knock. Vessel opens the door.
"Hey, I wanted to talk to you." You say shyly. Vessel nods and steps aside to let you in. Then he closes the door.
You're alone in the room, the others seem to be freshening up.
"So what was that on stage earlier?" You ask without beating around the bush.
"What was his name again? Your ex?" Vessel pretends to forget his name.
"Luke."
"Right. Make Luke jealous. As agreed." Vessel walks past you and sits down on a couch.
"Sure it was just for that?" His white mask turns to you.
You sigh. "Vessel I'm just going to tell you now. I don't know if you feel the same way but I like you, I really do. Even if it often doesn't seem that way."
"Really?" Vessel asks, surprised. His voice is soft.
You nod. "If you don't feel that way, it's okay. I just thought because of the song..."
Vessel grabs your wrist and pulls you to him. You land on his lap.
"Y/N I've had a crush on you for a long time. I wanted to tell you but I was too shy. I just never knew how to handle it. That's why I've always been so mean to you." He tells you his feelings.
After a brief moment of silence in which you look into each other's eyes, you begin to speak. "I like the song."
He clasps your hands and looks at them sheepishly. "I wrote it for you." He says barely audible. His words make you melt. He's so sweet.
"Vessel?" You lift his chin. "Can I kiss you?"
He doesn't give you an answer but leans in. Your lips connect. A flicker of fire arises in your body.
His hands rub over your back, holding you in place, protecting you from falling.
Suddenly the door opens, men's voices sound.
"Yes, and then there was this.... oh my god. Out of the way! Now!" You look up and see III standing in the doorway with his back to you. He completely exaggerates and tries to push away II who is behind him. "Go away! I need to get out of here!" Says III impatiently.
"What's going on?" II asks, confused. He obviously hasn't caught sight of you yet. You pull from Vessel and sit up.
"Y/N and Vessel making out." Says III. The door closes with a bang.
"What really?" You hear distantly. From the voice, it must have been IV.
"I'll never get that out of my head." Says III muffled, he's obviously upset. Their footsteps move away hastily, leave you alone.
You look at Vessel and roll your eyes. "They act like children." You grin. Then you lean in and kiss him again.
