What has Victoria been doing with herself lately?
Yeah, not on here much anymore. Not online much at all. Between some issues with my wrists that limit keyboard/mouse usage and the stupidity of the internet purity police, I’m spending some time on discord and a lot more time in offline activities. The main one, which is kind to my messed up wrists, is embroidery, and I’ve been having a blast with this. So much so that I’m probably going to start pushing my Patreon for it soon. Here’s a few examples of my work:

Sure, I knew from the description what this mala and collar were made of, and that, hypothetically, they’d have certain qualities about them. But I was not prepared for the satisfying heft of the mala in my hands or the way the beads sound and feel as I count them. I knew that the collar was made from hand-worked leather and would be soft enough to wear, but I wasn’t expecting the perfect balance of thick ruggedness and soft suppleness that it has.

To say I am ecstatic about these things is an understatement. I’ve been searching for the right prayer beads for me literally for the last 15 years or so, and I finally have them! I’ve been eyeing this collar for a couple years, and I’m glad I finally have it on my neck!
apparently this is not common knowledge among punk diy sewists but if you’re sewing patches / doing any sewing that requires pushing a needle through multiple layers of fabric, use a needle grip. they’re little rubber things that have excellent grip on the metal needle so you don’t have to pinch the needle as hard. you will save your fingers soooo much unnecessary pain.
there’s two main types. the basic type is just a little circle of rubber that you fold around your needle, and the fancier type is a little rubber cap for your fingertips. they’re very cheap, under five bucks for the fancier kind and less for the basic, and they last forever. you can buy nice ones from your local craft store or steal them from the quilting section walmart idc. if you’re in a pinch (pun intended) and can’t go out, if you have a non-slip mat under a rug, cut off a little corner and that will work decently. please treat your fingers kindly <3
