One of the most frustrating and disgusting things about being an emerging creative is how so many “opportunities” are really just ways for someone else to make money off of us. Courses, tools, agents, applications. We barely make any money as it is, most of us on the poverty line, while whole organisations are geared to charging us for the “privilege” of making our work. Fucking gross.

The Guardian just posted a lukewarm take distracting the Luigi Mangione affair into a discussion on how white killers are treated in the media vs killers of colour and the comments are not having it. This is the rare case of what aboutism being used not to distract from a liberal issie, as if often done when trying to confront gendered violence, but instead to pull focus from one liberal issue to another that is NOT resonating. Race and media perceptions are important issues, but the author is missing the moment. Based on their past writing, it's clear the issue of race in media is important to them, but it seems they are trying to drag that interest into a misaligned case.

I'll never understand the type of person who sits in a public hospital waiting area next to the rest of us and has a conversation at full volume on speaker phone. This guy's been going for 15 minutes.

Cats are excellent for people without much space or who can't form relationships with other people.

Was enjoying Succession at first, but then realised it goes on loop and doesn't really progress. Even after something changes, the writers bring it back to the same dynamic over and over, or hand wave away looming sub-plots. Got frustrating and boring. So, out for season 4.

What happened to Overwatch 2? I was enjoying tight, balanced matches that were close and fun. Two weeks later, every match is either rolling or getting rolled. It's no fun at all.
