Character Day at school today. In honor of the day, my Luna decided to participate from home. I’m hoping that by reading the Library Lion book, she will learn NOT to chew books.

Theme in my halls around my library: we have TREEmendous readers.  Each tree in the main hall has book covers from specific genres: Nonfiction, Realistic Fiction, and Fantasy (Left to right).  The single tree on black is a “POET-tree” with school poems mixed in with the poetry book covers.  The single tree on blue is just leftovers from all genres and the window picture is just listing some genres- I got tired of trees but had to give my “office” some privacy. (It too MUCH longer to complete than I thought/hoped!)

AMEN! The SR soundtrack literally solved at least one problem for me! My cats wouldn’t stop meowing/crying in the car to/from the vet. I put in the SR soundtrack, and when Christian Borle sang his parts in “Will Power” they got SILENT! MAGIC!

It’s also good to remember this in schools- allowing our students to read for pleasure- we don’t need to analyze every part of every book!

For some reason, I adore the guy on the right- when I saw the show I couldn’t stop looking at him- maybe b/c he seemed to be having a ball on stage.

One of my favorite things from today: a student named Anakin was wearing a Darth Vader t-shirt.

Seriously, I was telling everyone for at least 10 min and told all of my remaining classes for the day. (5th grade students continue to be amazed by what amuses me, the kindergarten students just stared at me.)

Got bored running the book fair at school, so I moved all of my "men" to join me. I have problems.

Okay guys. This is kind of a little thing that’s like not very important and it probably won’t get many notes but my school is getting rid of its library next year to make room for this other program we have and some of my friends just put up this petition to help save it. It was just put up yesterday but it already has over 500 supporters and Neil Gaiman tweeted a link to it to help us. Could you guys possibly just take a minute to sign this? It’d mean so much to me :)

Set problems. It was fixed quickly and the cast made fun of it throughout the show- it was a hoot!
