Finally back after one of two surgeries... doctor has cleared me for normal activity. So I'm back.... slowly but presently.

Will not be active for awhile
Charlotte pulled the stuffed animal close to her as she listened to the woman speak. "If my mind not feeling safe is what is making me not know things, then it really needs to hurry up and find whatever it is that will make it feel safe again." It was annoying hearing questions that she knows she's suppose to know, and yet... nothing. She felt like an idiot even if the surprise on the nurse's face when she said she read all the books they brought in that was for kids their age said she was very, very far from an idiot.
Okay, now that... that name... that felt familiar. Lottie. Why, she had no idea, but every fiber of her being said that she knew that name well. "Lottie..." she repeated, trailing off.
Asteria reached out, setting a hand on the child's knee to anchor her. "You're allowed to be frustrated.. and annoyed... It's ... very difficult when part of yourself seems to be missing.... it doesn't make you less." Asteria had risen from the sea with the knowledge of who and what she was. She'd never known this kind of loss. She'd buried her identity, yes.. kept fragments of herself hidden under human names.... lived human lives and did the Amazon mission in quiet ways... safer and sustainable ways ... because until 1918... she'd been the only one left to see it through. She wouldn't pretend with this child that she knew exactly what this was like... that she held all the answers...
Asteria paused a moment, watching the little girl... she'd meant the name only as a common nickname for Charlotte, but it had struck something. Nothing big.. not memory but.... by the way the child's shoulders eased.. the facial expression... there was recognition under the confusion. She filed it away for now, keeping her composure calm and steady.
Diana turned ready to thank whom ever had stopped to help her collect her paper, but the words died on her tongue the moment she saw the woman who had come to her aid.
She was unearthly beautiful, like a goddess, and as someone who was divine Diana knew how to spot those touched by the divine and those with divine blood.
This woman at the very least was touched by the divine.
"... Thank you." Diana took the paper back from the woman.
"Losing this would have been bad news for me."
Asteria knew as soon as the woman turned around, those eyes... she'd seen them in photographs, in recent news clips. The child the world called Wonder Woman...
"You're welcome," She smiled warmly in return. If she was rattled, it didn't slip past her usual serenity. She knew, even now with only her memories... she knew each every one of her sisters. She did not know this girl. Not why she wore General Antiope's tiara, not why she wore Amazon armor... but she knew the child did good with it.
Four walls, a window Old wood and beams Your room overflowing With drawings and dreams Of a land where your wishes roam wild and free I'm right here beside you Come flying with me
Don't be afraid now, beautiful girl Show me your courage And then show the world Spinning, soaring So fast and so high Pretend that this road Is as vast as the sky Pretend you are brave And then brave you will be I'm right here beside you Come flying with me

Diana watched as the two women interacted with each other. It was clear that they knew each other well, which meant that she was the extra person in this. They didn't need her there, not really. So she was just there, awkwardly watching the two like she was spying through a window.
Diana pulled her legs up, wrapping her arms around them, as she watched the two. Eventually, they will remember they have an audience, and she knew that. But, in the meantime, that meant that the little girl had to sit there and try to be patient... her absolute least favorite thing in the world to do.
Asteria was the one to remember first, her hand reaching, beckoning before Antiope could protest.
"Come here, little one..." She coaxed, her features softening in a way they only did with the very small. "Come sit with me a moment."
"Asteria, you need to eat... to rest. If your mother-" but Asteria only held up a gentle hand to stop Antiope from finishing her sentence.
"Just for a moment..." She smiled, despite herself. "I'm sure Diana has plenty to say... to ask. She's a very brave girl coming in here all by herself.. curious too."
"Don't encourage her," Antiope huffed half heartedly, for she too was guilty of encouraging the toddler's exploration. To Diana she nodded once. “Mind her head, Diana… be gentle with the injured.”
Saithra looked over to the winged woman when she heard her comparing her to the humanity outside of these Moors. "Do me a favor and stop comparing me to the 'every person'." The hisses in the 's' sound lasted a second or two. Short enough that most people missed it. But, if she made a habit of showing it, there would be issues.
As far as the Moors themselves? "Curiosity, perhaps. A woodland that no human dare enter? So far, I have no reason why." Again, the hisses. She could feel the snake around her arm practically purr with familiarity at her hissing. Poor thing must not have much experience on its own. It had not grown use to the silence yet. Interesting that it had imparted itself on one who, until very recently, served it.
Maleficent's head tilts slightly in that bird like way that curious women and cats are prone to when they've found something interesting. the hissing could be a simple error in speech but the magic, the snake's ease, and the way the stranger speaks of humans tells her otherwise.
"Then you are not as foolish as many before you." Maleficent allows with a little nod. She looks again, really looks at the cloak, the snake.. the girl's eyes- or what she can make of them. The dark fae, ever the leader, protector, former queen, lands with a small sigh. "You seem as if you've travelled a long way. If you do not mean us harm, you may stay and eat with us.. both of you."
@multiversalshenanigans liked for a starter from Asteria!
The Parisian streets were crowded, as was the norm. Asteria walked through with ease, weaving through moving bodies as if she'd done it for thousands of years. That was until she saw a paper slip from a passing woman's folder.
"Looks like the winds almost lost this." She said, placing a calm hand on the woman's shoulder to stop her. Little did she know that this woman had been looking for her for a long time, only to find her armor, little did she know, that this woman was the very one who ran around in armor and General Antiope's tiara. No, today, Asteria had every intention of disappearing again... but the fates had other plans.
@from-the-notebook, for Maleficent from Saithra
Saithra walked slowly onto the grounds, pausing to take a deep breath. This place was the first clean air she had smelled since she left her homeland. It seemed the people here preferred to take things slower than the outside world. Better for her, she supposed. But, from her experience, that meant they were more superstitious. No doubt, a woman with scales were bound to drive many to fear the worst in her. Whether or not they'd be wrong about her... she was still figuring that out.
She pulled the cloak she had on closer to her as she walked, but she paused when she heard a hiss in the grass. Kneeling down, she saw a wounded snake, scared and alone. She reached out slowly, letting the snake see some of her scales, before it wrapped itself around her wrist gently. She stood up, muttering a healing spell under her breath, pouring it into the snake as she begun walking again. How about that, the wild life seemed welcoming enough here.
She had only walked about twenty or so paces when she stopped, watching the sight of someone winged swooping in her direction.
Another trespasser... would humans never learn? Though Aurora had dissuaded her against dangling humans in the air for such an offense, She would if things turned hostile. She had come fully intending to frighten the interloper into turning back... but something made her pause.
The human stopped at the injured hiss of a snake. Most would've paused in fear... noblewomen would've shrieked if those that filled her daughter's human court were any indication. Not only did this cloaked figure note the injury.... there was the distinct prick of magic in the air... She healed the poor creature. Maleficent tilted her head to one side, curiosity piqued.
"It's not every person that would notice a wounded snake," She called airily, still keeping distance between herself and the stranger by hovering above her. "It's not every person that would venture so close to the Moors either. What brings you this way?"

A long, overdramatic sigh escaped Diana's mouth as she considers her aunt's offer. "I'll sit," she says, almost disappointed. It was better than being shuffled away like she wasn't allowed to see anything interesting that happened around here. She might be tiny, but she was just as curious as any of them.
And that was when it occurred to her. Her tone shifted from sad to curious once more. "Asteria? That's the name of the statue." Was it possible there were two? She supposed so. Far stranger things had happened in her short life. But it was strange that the woman shared a name with the statue that her mother loved so much.
"Good choice," Antiope nodded at the same time that Asteria said. "A very good choice, little one."
The two looked at each other a moment, Antiope's features softening as Asteria's only went back to confusion. The general sighed, setting Diana down on a nearby cushioned footstool before she made her way over to the bed.
"All will be explained in time," Antiope promised, kneeling by the bedside to take her hand. Asteria allowed it, a half sob escaping her lips when the hand did not pass through hers but held it, soid... real.
"That statue, was named for this woman Diana," Antiope explained without looking away from the returned warrior. "She was lost to us until now... Now she's come home."
Home, now Asteria thought the tears truly would come. She shook her head instead. "General-"
"It's about damn time you came to us." Antiope whispered so only Asteria could hear her, pulling the girl into an embrace. Asteria leaned into it, half a laugh half another sob. She let it last for two heartbeats before reluctantly pulling away.
Asteria's eyes returned to the little storm child in sandals... Diana, a child, a true child among her people...
Diana chuckles slightly, nodding, at the woman's question of her being good, but she doesn't answer her, instead, making the motion of petting her pegasus' mane... or at least, where the mane would be if it wasn't clay.
"Diana," she said without thought before looking back to the woman. "You?"
It was only then that she heard the voice of her aunts. "Diana... your mother made it quite clear that you weren't to disturb her. There will be plenty of time once she recovers."
Diana pouts, a stomp of her feet. "But I wanna meet the stranger!"
"Ast-" She'd been about to say 'Astra' but the voices made the words die in her throat. Asteria knew those voices... She'd heard them in her dreams for three long lonely years. When the door opened to reveal Antiope and Menalippe, Asteria froze. This couldn't be... this was impossible.
In the doorway, Antiope's arms folded. "Now don't you start, little storm." She told her little niece, allowing the foot stomp for a half a breath before she scooped the child into her arms. To her wife, she nodded once. "Send word that Asteria is awake- have the kitchens bring a tray."
Menalippe was gone as quickly as she'd appeared, leaving Asteria gazing between her general- her aunt, and Diana. Surely, this must be a dream... Amazons could not have children... but here the Amazons were, had the child washed ashore?
"Diana," Antiope focused on the little whirlwind for now, brushing back her hair with her free hand. "Asteria needs to eat. These are your choices; You may sit quietly with your pegasus as she does, or you can continue bleating like a goat and I will take you back to your room. Understand?"
