Thought I would answer these after my experience :)
2. After 6 years of binding it’s really what feels to be the absolute best thing for me
6. Masada Private, Melbourne
7. He was local, has amazing results and I immediately felt comfortable with him after my first consultation
8. I looked into Megan Hassall and Simon Ceber but overall liked Andy most
9. Double incision without nipple grafts
10. It was my only option for my size
11. Probably would of liked peri
12. As it was my first operation I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was a whole lot less anxious on the day than I expected and the going to sleep part was a lot calmer than I anticipated
13. As someone with chronic pain I expected it to be on that same sort of level, be in tears from the drains and not be able to move freely
14. I was in next to not pain. I had aches from sleeping on my back and a sharp pain if I accidentally moved the wrong way. But I have only needed 2 endone to get to sleep and panadol when needed
15. Nothing negative but I didn’t expect to have the mobility I have at not even two weeks (can stretch arms above head and behind me with no pain, not completely straight though) and I’m already able to sleep on my side (though I don’t because don’t want to jeopardise healing)
16. Only that I wish I had learnt how to sleep on my back and sitting up before surgery
17. I felt pretty informed and nothing was a surprise, so no
18. Currently just need to keep reminding myself that the swelling is eventually going to go down and I can’t let it discourage me
19. Really only felt like recovery went for 5 days while I had the drains in, at nearly 2 weeks I feel back to normal except slightly limited mobility and sometimes the incisions are painful or uncomfortable
20. No complications that I know of
21. Yeah I had drains for the first 5 days
22. Stop alcohol consumption and my prescribed pain medications 2 weeks prior and try get my fitness levels up
23. AU$5,000 for surgeon, AU$2,100 for anaesthetic, AU$750 for hospital admittance, AU$300 to confirm surgery date and about AU$200 in pre op appointments. As I have private health insurance I will get some money back from each area but I still have to go and make a claim.
24. It was about a 45 minute drive to the hospital
25. I had a thick Kathmandu jacket for car travel and it helped a lot with bumpy roads
26. Two incisions and small scars from drains
27. Can’t really escape them but at the same time I’ll be doing everything I can to fade them
28. Currently using paper tape changed every 4 days and 4 weeks post op I can change to silicone gel/strips
29. Make sure you’re mentally stable enough to be able to see your body go through different changes (in pain, bloated from medications, gain weight from the minimal movement, some people get nausea from antibiotics) and don’t be shy with taking vitamins and medications you need after in order to heal up including laxatives, you don’t wanna be constipated
30. Don’t have anything to add :)
