おはよう! Hola! Hi there.
Moved the blog to here!
I won't be updating from here anymore except to tell everyone to head to the new blog.
I want to write my next album here.
Shit, dudes. This new album is going to be so rock and roll. Pentatonic fun. Everywhere.
Hopefully finishing up a demo by the end of the next week. That's the goal at least.
New song, "On the Backs of Bears" is nearing completion for the writing stage. Showed it to a friend the other day and he compared it to a MegaMan boss fight, so I might turn part of it into an 8-bit track like I did with Shinsei. Keep looking out for new stuff!

Songs are going through major revisions at the moment. I'm getting excited about writing again, getting excited about the album again.
Talking things out and bouncing ideas off of various friends is a huge help. Always remember to surround yourself with good, creative musicians, and more importantly, good people. A supportive personal environment will do more for your music than any amount of hours of practice and production could ever do.
In the meantime, here's some cheesy piano diddy that probably won't make it on the album: Wooo, piano!
Been getting back into the swing of things writing and recording some demos. Here's a short clip of a song, titled "On the Backs of Bears" off the upcoming album, Pillars. Enjoy!
New Circle Takes The Square album is pretty incredible. Listening to this will help me procrastinate on writing for the new EP for sure.
Don't know why I haven't posted this here before. A week or so ago I was finishing up some more writing for the new EP and I recorded a couple demos.
Here's a sampler of a few sections from the song "A Volcano. And A Light Trap." This still doesn't have bass yet, but imagine it did and that the mix sounded perfect.
I'm maybe about a third to half of the way done writing the songs for the EP, which should have 5 to 6 songs on it. Stay tuned, I should have more demos and a tracklisting in the next couple weeks!
Muzak in the werkz. Hopefully I'll have a real rough sampler of stuff within the next couple of weeks. I hate having this project lying dormant and not supplying any sort of material to anyone who might want to listen. Let's change that.
Also, screw synthesizers. I could spend a week with one patch and still not get it how I want it.
It's not fair. I want this much Earth where I live.
Damn. Just stumbled across this band today. Wow.
Forging Ahead
Well, originally I wanted to go for two new EP's, completely divergent: One more ambient, one more technical. However, I can't deny the music that's a part of me. Blastbeats and 4/4 China's over polyrhythms are just as much an influence as soaring melodies and vast, delay-drenched clean chords, so I've decided to forge ahead and just stay on the path I started with "Grow" with just one EP encompassing everything. However, if there's one thing I can promise about the new EP I have in store, it's that it's going to be weird, and different from "Grow", hopefully in the best way possible.
I've scrapped a couple ideas, but some new ones have come out of that process, and I've found a ton of old riffs I want to drastically rework into the new material. Hopefully I can get some demo material out in the next couple of weeks.
Writing the new EP's is going slower than I thought. It's a lot tougher starting from musical scratch, whereas the old album was written and built off of mostly preexisting songs I had. Hmm.
Oh well, here's a song ("Ame") from the album that came out a week ago, You've Just Begun to Grow. Hope you enjoy it! If you like it enough, go download it at frontierpioneer.bandcamp.com.
Seems like the album's been a hit so far! Nearly 400 plays on bandcamp in the first day, and almost 40 downloads. Maybe those aren't Ke$ha-like stats, but I'll catch up to my nemesis one of these days.
Still, I'm excited for what's ahead. I'll be promoting the album more, hopefully getting a more solid fanbase. Also, I have two EP's in the works. Since this album (You've Just Begun to Grow) was sort of a collection of songs, and a smorgasbord of genres, and really more of an exploration into what I can do musically, I've decided to focus on the two polar extremes in the next releases. The first EP will be called Pillars and will be a much more ambient, clean, downtempo album, and I may even start messing around with more electronic sounds :x I already have two to three songs nearly done being written at the moment. The other EP only has a tentative name at the moment, but will be focusing on the other end of YJBTG's musical spectrum, i.e. very heavy, very technical, and hopefully a lot more interesting instrumentation!
Anyways, that's all for now! Thanks for reading, thanks for listening if you have. If not, please go check out the album at frontierpioneer.bandcamp.com.
