Built over 1,000 years ago in the dead center of an ocean of sand dunes, nobody actually knows who constructed this circular fortress. This is Ksar Draa in Timimoun, Algeria. An ancient architectural marvel whose true origin story is completely lost to time.

This is one of my favorite places to hike. I visit this old shack about once a year on my hikes here. I think it was an old hunting lodge for a hunter. There were other buildings here that no longer stand, but this little shack has withstood the test of time.
