Yummy AND ornamental!
Simple kitchen garden.
History repeats itself. One way or the other.
Food is beautiful.
Very cool! One person runs out of space in a postage stamp yard and convinces the neighbor to allow a take-over. Then others get into the spirit with drive-by contributions. Neat!
Sacramento made changes - AFTER someone sprayed "the most horrible product ever" on this woman's food and destroyed her yard and neighboring ones.
"Love my front yard garden!"
More from another of my neighbors. Thanks, Colby!
This is part of my next door neighbor's front yard garden. The edibles have been planted in front of the flower bed that lines the house in some places. This is where more grass has been removed to add beans and tomatoes along with herbs and really pretty bright lights swiss chard. I like the mixture of pretty flowers with the yummy foods. Had some of those beans with dinner just last night. Perfection.
This is about half of the totes/containers that occupy the front yard of someone I know. Most of these are tomatoes with some cucumbers and squash thrown in. Not shown is a cherry tomato tree that sits right next to the street. When this guy ran out of sunny spots in his yard, he got permission from the folks across the street to set some up in their side/front yard. This is not one of the prettiest set ups ever but it is well maintained and very prolific.
I thought Toronto was ultra cool in all ways possible. I feel so betrayed.
Very nice before and after if you check the source.
Some people are facing jail time for doing this for themselves. Others are making a living at it. What's up with that?
Hey, the White House victory garden is even out front!
Edible Estates - a very cool project started by just one person several years ago. Front yard food is not new. It's just not "common."
One of the really pretty front yard gardens found on a on a simple image search. It comes from the Food Renegade website which is about creating front yard gardens.
The garden that started it all. Somebody could go to jail for this?
