“Interesting is certainly one word for us.” Jack smirked. “Just wait until you meet one of the annoying, loud, burger-obsessed Americans. Your life will never again be the same!” At the end of the sentence, Jack dramatically pretended to faint before catching himself with a grin.

“Oh, I’ve already been mugged, that was a horrible experience.”She nodded , giggling when the boy pretended to faint.”You’re very energetic and strange, I like it.”

“Oddity is a rare gift in this age” Jack agreed. “You seem like a good person. We need more good people in this town, with people like Bill about.” A serious tone crept into his voice. “Though, you do seem smart enough to know who to talk to and who to avoid. Just. Don’t let something like another mugging happen, ok?”

“Who is Bill?” She tilted her head to the side slightly, confusion clouding her features.“I don’t think I can really control being mugged, but I’ll try my best to stop it from happening.”

“Yes.. I suppose that’s true. I’m sorry, sometimes I’m really out of touch with how the world works, comes with having amnesia I think. And Bill. Well. Bill makes deals. I don’t really know much beyond that, but he isn’t a nice guy.”

“Yes, I do have amnesia.” Jack said shortly. However, he realized it wasn’t her fault, she simply didn’t know. So he softened his voice and his tone before continuing. “And to be completely honest, anyone who would pass up the opportunity to be a Jedi is likely insane and extremely dangerous.”

“Oh. I’m…I’m sorry. I didn’t know,” she stammered, worried Jack would be angry that she was being so rude. She didn’t mean to, she was just curious. But he seemed not to mind, so she gave him a smile. “They probably want to be Sith lords and…you can’t trust them,” she said with a laugh.

Jack waved the apology off. “Don’t worry about it, you didn’t know. And they are obviously Darth Vader in disguise and should be treated with extreme caution. And you should probably just... Not be friends with them. A soul without Star Wars is a dark place indeed.” Jack nodded seriously before breaking out into a smile.

Mabel takes the box of sweets from him slowly and opens it. A litter of cockroaches crawl out of the box and onto her hands and she flings the box away. “Why do you have random boxes of bugs on hand?!”

Jack looked slightly put-out. “Dang it.” He sighed. “I’m not really a scary person… I’m more of a fun-times kind of guy. Do you have any ideas?”
