President George Washington suffered from teeth problems for a long while. These problems were so bad, that by the time he became president, he had only one tooth left. President John Adams claimed that they were damaged because he used them to crack Brazil nuts, but today's historians suggest the mercury oxide, which he was given to treat smallpox and malaria, probably contributed to the loss.

In 1858, a woman named Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree)was giving a speech that was interrupted by a man accusing Truth of being a man, due to her speech "Ain't I a Women?". To prove the man wrong, Truth opened up her blouse and revealed her breasts.
