“No WONDER you guys went extinct!”
(Indie Dilophosaurus ‘Dilo’ from Jurassic Park. Side Blog to Bogisms)
the-raptor-pack
A hiss, though no frill yet.
Fearsome things, raptor’s were. Jittering around with too much energy. What was worse was they hunted in packs.
A slight step back would do for now, but mouth was still open. A warning.
Blue hissed in return, lowering herself and raising her claws as if she would pounce any minute. It was a threat display, but not an active one; she didn’t want to fight. She knew by the scent that this creature had the potential to be venomous.
It burned her nostrils a hint, like alcohol burned one’s throat.
The others hid on either side of the strange creature, with Echo circling them slowly.
Just in case there were more of the frill-faces.
She’d rather not have any trouble at all. While a good spit to the face could blind one or two, they’d swarm her down in no time. She was bigger than them, by a few feet, but that didn’t always mean a good thing.
Slowly, she lowered herself down so her top legs were against the ground and the edges of the frill flared up. They provided protection, but not if they could get behind them.
No. Not harm.

Head tilt.
She slowly crouched down onto all fours, front limbs touching the ground with relative ease to allow tail upwards like a flag. Cue another head tilt, then a nudge forward with nostril’s to take in a scent.
Hm?
The ticking sound caught the avians attention immediately, startling him into a defensive posture; hissing, wings spread to look as large as possible. Though realising that the reptile was still on the ground was somewhat of a relief. A spitter. That settled it, he wasn’t leaving this tree.
He tightened the clawed grip on his lunch, realising that the other was probably, indeed, hungry. Maybe if he threw her the remains, she’d stay down there? There was a disheartend chirp at the thought, but regardless, he bit the tail off the fish before flinging the remains to the forest floor.
[Don’t think I’ll be doing that again anytime soon. I’m watching you.]
Her mouth opened slightly. She was mostly curious, really. Odd things, fliers. She supposed she could snap them out of the sky, if they buzzed by too close. Not usually her area of expertise, though.
When the fish was dropped down, Dilo’s head tilted downward to follow the trail as it splattered out in front of her. Down she went, nostril’s taking in the inhale of the scent and she shook her head. Odd smell. But in it went to her teeth and she set to swallow it in one bite.
Watching me? Hm. I’m watching you.

Nope.
She’d rather not deal with that at all.
Her strong legs scooped up to swirl herself around, content to wander off and leave well enough alone.

Sniff? Sniffsniffsniff.
Click of feet to the ground, talons touching on odd pavement. Her head bobbed down to touch nose to the weird surface and she gave a scratch with her claws. Whatever it was, it wasn’t like the grass she had just come off from. A commotion brought up her head again, head tilted to the side.
Small thing?
What was small thing?

Warning, WARNING!
Frill was raised and shaking, throbbing against the core neck of the dilophosaurus. Teeth were bared and angled to exhale the spit if need be. That was a lot of teeth, after all, and in exceptionally large jaws.
Tongue lulled and rippled in bright mouth to flash a warning, though her feet pushed back to keep distance. Best to flee, not that a good dose to the eyes would give her time.
:0 you could make a trans dino a la hallie baker?? (velociractor)!!
Well, yeah. They do change gender in the first movie, so it’d make sense.I think I’m going to keep my male!version of Dilo as just an AU for my character on my main blog.. I have a story played out already. I’ll keep Frxlled for my canon Dilo of the movies and do my AU on Bogisms for Dino!Bo.

Inhale.
Exhale.
Snap of breath and increase of scent intake hinted that someone was close by. Not something familiar, of course, though the beast was quite used to odd new scents in an unfamiliar environment. Her massive head stuck out from the grass and she glanced around to attempt a focus with singular vision onto where this new scent was coming from.

((Honestly? I might make this the AU for my main blog’s dino side, but idk. Switching genders and all that?))

A high pitched whistle followed by a clatter was indication enough that Dilo had heard the other. After all, that loud stomp of feet was hard to miss. The smaller dinosaur let out a shriek and raised the edges of her frill, if but a warning, along with wagging tongue and red flashes of soft mouth.
