Hey Peedee, Steven and you used to go out and have fun?
Having this job is the worst because I get to watch everyone be happy and active instead of me being able to engage in it. He’s nice enough to consider me and we will hang out a lot with Connie, who’s really cool, but it’s never just us two anymore. I’m really happy for him, but I miss the old days a lot.
Do you guess what Mr. Fryman's name is ?
He likes to keep that level of respect from all customers to just refer to him as Mr. Fryman. (as if a tiny, friendly little fry shop on the boardwalk has any reason to be private..) - Peedee

I actually like the way Lars was before. I don’t see why he needed to be redeemed. Sure he’s done some shitty things and said some things that shouldn’t have been said, but he’s a highschooler.
The shittiest thing he’s done to Sadie was to fake being sick so he could go hang out with the Cool Kids. The shittiest thing Sadie did was to trap him on an island with her and Steven for like a week.
The shittiest thing he’s done to Steven, was to blame his mom for the moss that ate the Cool Kids. He shouldn’t have said it, but it was a high stress situation that like a lot of the in world problems in the show was caused by Rose. On the other hand the shittiest thing Steven did to Lars is to leave him in space with gems he barely knows apart from they’re also to be killed after Lars died and was revived, and then Steven went on to help try to get Dewy reelected, started a band (which he didn’t tell Lars that he was the main reason Sadie was in a band when he showed him while they were in space the second time), went on vacation, before even trying find his Lion to go back and visit him.
Followed by taking over his body so he can show everyone, including the audience, that Steven is better than Lars. Something that wouldn’t have to be done if you actually made a likable protagonist instead of every self insert I’ve made between age four to sixteen. It doesn’t fit in this situation because no one wants to Bella Twilight their way through Steven’s life. That’s way too stressful and there’s not enough reward for it to work.
He was also shitty to Ronaldo, but the show would like you to forget that they ever interacted because they introduced them as former friends but never did anything with it again, but if they did Ronaldo would have stranded Lars somewhere too I can almost promise you that. Because that seems to be a reoccurring theme with Lars.
But tl;dr: Lars does teenagery things like skip out on responsibilities and lash out, and the show punishes him for it by putting him in danger.

Ronnie: Clearly not, I should’ve known. I’m definitely one of the most loved characters, yeah. Truly everyone considers my motives and understands my mindset as a person, which would totally result in you not relating anything you say as a threat against me or my bro. Yeah.
Peedee: tch.
Ronnie: Though, now that you mention it, I haven’t tried that! Maybe I could test it out and ask Steven if he has any spare shards lying around.
Peedee: Ronaldo, we are NOT getting into another gem-related mishap. You know how long it took us to resolve the Frybo incident! Excessive amounts of money and apologies don’t clash with dad very well.
I’m gonna ramble a moment, hang with me. This hiatus feels SO odd. “Change Your Mind” had a lot of stuff happen in it, and ended a lot of the show’s little/big arcs. There’s a movie and another season, so it’s not the end by any means… But the season finale kind of felt like the end in some ways, so there’s this general air of “Well, now what” going on in the fandom. It doesn’t help that CN has said literally nothing about the movie coming in the fall, and we can only guess what they’re going to cover in the season after it. No dove commercials or shorts, either. It’s just… kind of quiet anticipation right now. lol
