Sometimes I'm glad jellyfish have no central nervous system and just vibe. Can you imagine being able to think while this happens?
Do you ever notice yourself getting bad again…like, you know you’re not doing work that needs to be done, you know you’re not cleaning, you know you’re not taking care of yourself…you know all the things you need to do to start trying to feel better. But you just can’t. And you’re left feeling like shit bc you thought you were getting better but here we are
I scrolled down expecting help or maybe tips for combating this situation slowly, but all I found was a newer sense of hopelessness as my already tenuous grip that I keep my life together with becomes that much looser. I don’t blame op though, knowing I’m not alone is some comfort.
Tips for combating this situation:
1) Remember that you have been here before and you will get through it. It helps me every time to know that even if I can’t find the strength right now, I know I can build to it.
2) If possible, take your time. If you need a day in bed getting nothing done, do it. If you need to slowly ease back into getting things done, do it. Knowing what is best for you is key.
3) Start with the most minor chores. Bring a cup from your room to the kitchen and wash it. Pick up some dirty clothes from around your room. Small chores feel like big achievements, so anything is helpful.
4) Self care. So important. Take a shower, take a bath, relax. Try to get yourself out of this funk. Sometimes, I’ll shower, and feel better and get one chore done, and then feel completely shitty again. But you get back up and try again and again.
5) Turn to someone for support. Whether it’s opening your heart and explaining to them your uncomfortable situation, or just chatting to stop yourself from isolating yourself. Anything that makes you feel like more of a valuable, knowable person can be helpful in getting you back on track.
❤️❤️❤️I hope that was helpful. I didn’t mean for my vent-post to become such a relatable black hole❤️❤️❤️
I could cry, this is so wonderful. thank you so much, op :>
