torn for a moment ; should he blindly go along with his son -- clearly hallucinating and clearly out of his mind -- or should he try to reason, calm him down.    for someone with a doctorate, maybe not leading expert or even well respected geologist, he sure could be both stupid and indecisive at the best of times ( or all of the time -- - having such a penchant for picking the worst option always. )

   ‘ SHH. SHH.   no one’s going to take you -- i’ve got you this time. ‘

his words come out in a harsh whisper,  pulling his son into a tight hug, making sure that the only thing nadir could see at this moment was him, the wall, giving little to no space for any hallucinations to occur.    would this be a smart decision with his current temperament?  probably not,    but it was the only way his current aggression chose to manifest itself.

it’s a burning underneath his skin ; it’s always there.   that slow thrum of heat far larger than something any one person can control.   but today, ever since that storm set in,  it’s been a burning blaze stronger than all of the stars in the sun combined.   his hands are blistering hot,  and usually, it wouldn’t bother him,   but with rim of sweat building up on furrowed brow,  there’s some kind of aggression that’s burning in his furnace of a heart.          

      he’d been trying to get some space,     knowing full well that the plasma circling worn hands would be fatal to anyone but blood relatives ( as is the summers way. )  the flash of light,   somewhat familiar,  catches his attention as he almost marches through the halls.   his heart knows his son , as does his eyes.    walk breaks out to a run,   not at all worried about any outburst of light.   ‘     !! -- it’s alright,’   he tries to not let his surprise get to him,   considering there is no one else visible to him,   ‘ no one’s going to take you -- - there’s no one here. ‘    he tries to speak calmly,   but his firm words are almost snapped with his underlying anger,   but nonetheless, warm hands held out towards his distant son.

if this was ten years ago, her ass would have been jumping over the bar and grabbing a bottle to herself before bolting. but she wasn’t twenty anymore and had a name and image to keep up with. so instead, she stood and tried to look patient as she resisted the urge to tap her foot in annoyance. the bartender had passed her 3 times without even a slight acknowledgement, “am i invisible?” she complained - mostly to herself but she knew it was audible enough for those around to hear it. @fuckboisummers

           for a man born with three left feet, the only sensible place for him to ever be at a party was the edge of the bar.  a barely touched drink resting in his hands.      he glanced over at the start of the conversation,   ‘ not at all. ‘ a brief, blunt,  but entirely accurate response.   his following action as typically chauvinist on his part,   ‘ want me to -- ? ‘     fingers raised to his lips, briefly foreshadowing his next movement but barely waiting for a response before blowing one clear note whistle which finally managed to get the aforementioned bartenders attention,   ‘  rude,   but it works,    though if he’s being ignoring you-- can’t say he doesn’t deserve it. ‘

“ i’m sorry sugah - if you’re here for office hours they’re done for today. “ anna-marie mused to the person who had entered her classroom, she was shuffling around papers for her next class, trying to get things semi-neat before she left for the day. she wasn’t the neatest person but when it came to her class room, she’d rather have things put in their place unlike her own home.

“i don’t understand what i’m doing wrong-” it was OBVIOUS that the whole thing was beginning to frustrate her from nothing more than the set of her mouth and the way her grip had tightened on the computer mouse, knuckles white. the temptation would always be there, to peek into the mind of ANY of the students milling in the computer lab and seek out the answer for herself - but she was PAST acting on the urge. she was BETTER than it. instead, a testament to how far she’d come, she admitted her shortcomings, and put voice to what it was that was confusing her - even if she did so with a degree of embarrassment. “i’ve clicked internet explorer, but it’s not making that….- beepbeepbeepbRBRBBRBRBR sound-” she did a MEAN impression of the internet dial up tone, considering she hadn’t heard it in over a decade, “how do i know when it’s connected to the internet?”

       it’s like his day is somehow made ; visible from the growing grinning on tanned features ; by the reminder of what a decade or two on the other side of the mortal coil could do to people.   he knew more than well enough the anxieties, fears, and confusion that you carry with you like a shroud ( as do almost all x-men ; considered a right of passage at this point ) , but the morbid thought didn’t damper the laughter building in the cavity of his chest.   ‘ you got to put your headphones in for that now,’   he attempted to toy with her,   knowing full well that’s pointless against the worlds strongest telepath, ‘ you can tell through that little rainbow thing on the bar --    you’re all set up and good to go,     this -- it’s your first time using the internet since ? ‘ the from when implied, but not stated.

   he meets his son with a straight gaze; facial expression giving nothing away of the emotions bubbling beneath his skin.  he knows to everyone, he was dead, for several years. to him? he was trapped in a parallel dimension where he had to watch everyone he loved, the entire planet, end.          he knew that no matter what he said, any genuine apologies, he had hit a momentary brick wall when dealing with his son. he knew first hand what it was to deal with a dad who was never there, not of their own volition,  ( something about losing parents in plane crashes was just genetic at this point ).         ‘   are you  done with the comments today ? ‘ some overly snarky remark bitten down to something that just spoke vague annoyance with the hint of insomnia.
