Chell Portal Series Valve

There is something strangely vindicating about a silent, first-person, female, non-white protagonist.  You may never see her or hear her, but it’s nice to know that somebody out there has put her in a wildly popular game series without explanation or apology.

Anyway, Chell is the ever-tenacious and wildly stubborn hero of the Portal series. Surrounded by mad or incompetent robots who spend the games implying that she is, alternatively, fat or adopted, it’s no wonder she opts not to engage.
